Lets just use both, "Off the Path" for sinfle frame cartoons and Paizonia for larger strips ;)

Changed Lycanthropy

Just saw the new strip. Oh...I'm waiting to hear someone's reaction. Well done, Hugo.

EDIT: Use whatever is best. I was just having fun.

Beautiful. That pony has to stay. That pony with the briefcase and the puzzled looking werewolf have to stay.

I think the werewolf's speech patterns could use a little work though. I don't remember Heathy ever sounding so ordinary before. ;-)

That's true. But I bet it would be a lot tougher to do H. consistently (i.e., erratically) than it would be to do S. Heathy talks like the Fremen walk on Arrakis.

Scarab Sages

Great work, keep'em comming.

I'm actually going to stat the Lord of the Boards prestige class, along with warwoofs, silver snow-geckos, and many others.
Game requirements will involve epic-stats.
On the Boards, though, I think suitable requirements are getting 1000 posts and announcing yourself on the respective thread.
these rules aren't written in stone, but they're usually followed. After all, a LotB must be utterly devoted to the Boards.
Awesome comic, Hugo. I love seeing someone else get mocked. :)

And he's full of 'spice'.

The whites of his eyes should be colored in blue.

I agree. All my submissions had Heathy with his correct Texan accent, similar to the one he has on untitled.

Liberty's Edge

poor little wolfie doesn't stand a chance against those big bad PCs of the "Fangwatch"
Good thing they are pack animals! love your artistic style.

please explain the pony. Its quirky, but not so much funny to me. Is there an inside joke here that I am missing.

Does he really have a Texas accent? He said he moved a bit and most people who move a lot don't pick up regional accents. I base that on myself and my Family, a Air Force Family.

Explanation? No. But one can point:
Link.

EDIT: @ Ubermench - People I've known from Florida who moved to Texas didn't sound that much different after a time....I suppose it depends.

Keep up the excellent work, Hugo!

How do you get a "Lord of the Boards" title? Post count? Acknowledgement from another lord? Popularty? A cult? Bribing Gary?...
It's a self proclaimed title. You just have to be arrogant enough to declare yourself a lord.

I myself would prefer to call myself Field Marshall... so bring the flame!

jajajaja that one is great!

Heh! The thing on this strip is that its extremely "Paizonian". You have to know heathy (werewolf) and Sebastian (pony) to catch half the fun. I picked this one because was very easy to draw, I had the werewolf and the pony already made. On the part of the accent... that's nearly impossible for me to follow since I'm not a native speaker... as you may already know ;P, next time send the text with the accent already in ;P.

I'm whiping up the art really fast so for now don't expect much detail and expect a few slips... Also, I have to "edit" the strip ideas to fit it in the drawing and try to make more sense on it regarding the frames and drawings. For those who send strip ideas, please make the text as short as possible, as you see on this last strip, long texts are very difficult to fit, and for the moment I'll go for "easy to draw" strips.

Thanks for the kind words and the feedback!

I've lived in Texas for 20 years now, grew up in upstate New York. My accent adjusts to the company I'm in for some weird reason. You'd have to ask Kirth if I have an accent though, since I can't really tell.

And Hugo, ¡El cómico fue bastante excelente!

~wicked smile~ I almost feel sorry for the Bella Sara Fanboi and the Weremutt. Almost. Good one Hugo! ~walks off laughing~

Mothman's brains at work! I only edited it a bit ;)

~wicked grin~ Ok. Good one Mothman and Hugo. Is that better?

Heeheheh. I said Heathy's speech pattern, not his Texan accent. Heathy just has a characteristic (and probably inimitable) writing style).

It wasn't a criticism though. I love these comics.

AHHAHAHA! HOOOHAAOOOOHHH!

Great work, Mothman as well.
The only mistake is that Heathy isn't a werewolf.

I learned what spanish I know through dictionaries and in prison. So thank you for the grammatical correction, I have the most trouble using phrases in an idiomatically correct way, and can use all the native speaker help I can get :)

(Just out of curiosity, what would be a correct context to use "bastante" in?)

The new mother placed the newborn in a 'bastante'.

Liberty's Edge

This is what my dictionary says:

bas·tan·te,

# 1. adj.

enough, sufficient

#2. adv.

enough, sufficiently

examples:

no he comido bastante

I have not eaten enough

(muy) rather, quite
llegaron bastante tarde they arrived rather late

(the second one is what i went with, but it isn't idiomatically (or grammatically, probably) correct.

Hugo are you still taking idea's for 'toons ?

Liberty's Edge

Looks great Hugo.

Hugo also did an excellent job of editing down my rather wordy script into something more suitable for the medium, while retaining the essense of the thing - nice work!

Yeah, he's always gonna be taking them.

And 'Off the Beaten Path' is pretty similar to 'Off the Path'.

Name suggestion for the strip;

It Came from the boards.

the Bottom feeders.

Hecho en Mexico.

Since you ARE getting most of your material from the messageboards, I simply suggest

"Lords of the Boards"

mmm as i am not grammar teacher i am not sure, i use mostly asit sounds (but i do the same with english and i am not always right) and actually the 2 examples you used are fine

for example i have eaten enough (he comido suficiente) while there is i have eaten too much (he comido bastante o he comido demasiado)

i will try to check how to use it, i don't make promises... bu i will try :)

Or maybe 'Paizonians Off the Path'?

How about 'Off the Beaten Topic?'

Off the Path seems to catch, which is based on your idead :D

I'll take two names for now, one for strips and one for single frame shots. These well be "temporal" while we try to agree on names. I'll go for Paizonia for the strips and Off the Path for the single shots. If a more liked names comes up, we'll change it and make it official. I guess I need to write the paizo staff for permission to use Paizonia (or wait for a post from the of C&D :P).

Send the strip ideas to my email

Spoiler:
hugo_be@hotmail.com

When you send your ideas keep in mind this:
-Try to make the texts as short as possible
-Short strips are easier to make than long ones, so I'm favoring these over strips over 4 frames. My workload its a bit high right now...sorry
-Please be patient with the strips. I have receive a few and I can't possible draw them all.
-You'll have to trust me on the strip selection. If you send several, I'll pick first the funniest, easier to "catch" and easiest to draw of them all. I'll try to make at least one from each sender.

This post by Samuel 'Zoidberg' Weiss deserves a strip of its own. I realize it is a bit long but it is funny!

Hugo, that one is beautiful. You've also got the things about goblins from RotRL1.

I'm sure that the Paizo folks love these too.
