I also absolutely have to take Mothman's paladin character, because I LOVE DRAWING WARFORGED.

Cool! I figured I could count on you for a warforged.

He’s a bit shorter and more solidly built than Brick, for reference.

I see him looking a bit like a WH40K Necron wearing Space Marine armour, if that helps, or makes any sense.

Blasphemer! Heh, I play Space Marines..

Anyway, i was looking through some books, the quintessential rogue specifially.. and thought "Wow, i really like the 'blackthorn', what would that look like?"
So my request is this:

Spoiler:

Blackthorn
CN Male Elf Rogue 2/Druid 1
Str 12
Dex 16
Con 12
Int 12
Wis 14
Cha 9

Somewhat small, even for an elf, Blackthorn disdains city life. He lives in a tree hut he made himself, in a forest that borders a small city. In the morning he decorates his long blond hair with twigs and colorful leaves that accentuate his brilliant blue eyes. He gathers his berries and sickle, puts his leather on and goes about his day. He's befriended an eagle, and has been trying to make friends with the wild cats (leopard, panther, etc). He tries to mimic the wild cats, their stealth and dexterity, and has a deep fascination with them.

Did you actually use the rules for a blind character or did you have the DM give you tremor sense or something?

As for a setting description... I would describe Elbin Reach as a high-magic, low fantasy setting I based on my semi-obsession with Irish and British folksongs and such. There is a focus on regional/racial/religious conflict and tensions between the civilized, monotheistic invaders and the native pagan hordes. It's one part post-Norman-Robin-Hood-Olde-Englande, one part neo-Celtic fantasy land, and one more part for every Steeleye Span album I could manage to work into it.

Oooh, that sounds cool! And like a great excuse to dig out my old tapes. I still haven't converted more than half of my folk music collection to digital. I don't have much Steeleye Span as I tend to prefer Tannahill Weavers and Silly Wizard, but I've got one in there somewhere. So, you know I'll have the appropriate soundtrack : ) Heh, and that practice at drawing knotwork should come in handy too. I look forward to reading the descriptions of the characters you want drawn. I work in color so make sure to include that in the description please.

Its a tiny starting PDF magazine, so I don't want to get my hopes up until I see it published. The deadline was too short so I had to pick an article for cartoons :( but as long as I get something out its ok I guess.

I'll let you know which magazine when its out! I suspect it'll be on the first week of december.

The Butterfrog suggested I tender my commission...

My character’s name is Modus Sharn, he is a half Garundi, half Varisian human urban ranger native to Korvosa. He is 26 years old, 5 ft. 11 in. tall, and weighs 210 lbs.

His stats are: Str 15, Dex 14, Con 13, Int 13, Wis 14, Cha 11.

Modus is tall, broad shouldered, and slim hipped. His skin is a dark mocha color and his eyes are a deep brown-black. His hair is curly and prematurely white. He wears it very closely cut. He has a narrow nose and high cheekbones; characteristic of his Garundi blood. He maintains a very thin mustache and short beard -- which has yet to turn white like the hair on his head. Modus is rarely without his bright emerald green headscarf, though he is seldom veiled. While working he wears a leather tunic and trousers of dark green. He is often wrapped in a thick robe of a similar green hue.

He is well armed. He is equally skilled fighting with a longsword and dagger or with his rante-style spiked chain. On his back he bears a mighty composite long bow. He wears a chainshirt under a padded leather surcoat and has a buckler strapped to his left forearm.

Despite his martial garb, the life-blood of an urban ranger is stealth and perception – moving through crowds, assessing dangers, and determining from whence danger will come before it comes. Assisting Modus is his pseudodragon companion, Corvis. Rescued from the lair of an evil crime boss where he was cruelly tortured, Corvis is a scrapper and a fighter.

It would probably just as much fun to see a picture of Modus & Corvis engaged in battle (spiked chain whirling and pseudodragon poised to sting), as it would be to see the two of them engaged in their usual activities: asking questions and hunting for information, with Corvis resting on Modus’s shoulder pretending not to be interested.

Modus is garbed in a style similar to a Tuareg tribesman of North Africa, one of the Blue Men; though the Garundi of Rahadoum dye their headscarves deep emerald green.

Thanks all,

CJ

Sort of...Grael has limited blind sense, but he can really only 'feel' vague shapes (i.e. 'you feel a large shape before you'). However, it only extends about 30ft, and getting hit with a sonic attack confuses his senses for a few rounds.

So... this is actually an old character revisited. I liked BFs "Brand the Wizard" which he drew for Jason. But I wanted a colored version. Here is the result:

Colored Brand the Wizard
Brand the Wizard's half troll cousin

Dennis, those look really good. I like the first one better, but both versions are cool.

Hey guys, thanks. The second one was sort of an afterthought so it doesn't bother me that the colors on that don't impress, I think I could clean him up a bit but don't plan on it.

This Commission is already in the air and in line to be attended, but the description was in spanish, if anyone wants to read about my char or try it, here i left it without a compromise (also i would love it added to the drawing as you all use to do :D)

Jordan Fenix

Spoiler:
LG Half-elven Cleric of Iomedae (4 lvl),(chelexian & Mierani forest elf mix)
Str 13, Dex 10, Con 12, Int 14, Wis 17, Cha 14 (16 with armor)
Key skills: Sense Motive +15, Diplomacy +11, Intimidation +8

Jordan as a priestess of Iomedae, goddess of justice, looks and acts the part.

Her black raven hair is cut in a short and efficient, yet attractive, style. Her deep grey eyes, which some would claim that in certain light changes appear golden or amber, have always a look of stubborn determination and confidence that compels others to believe. Her small lips try to always have a smile for a friend or someone in need, but quickly become a line of disgust while confronting the forces of evil.

But aside of her faith or maybe because of it, the woman feels unnatural. It might be her pointed ears or her big irises, not as big as true elves but big enough, or her aura of peace and rightfulness around her that compels good people to open their hearts to her, while evil ones fear her deeply (mechanically, her Aura of Good is double. as powerful as another cleric or paladin of her level)

Jordan is educated and elegant, yet simple in it, trying to be always clean and wearing her faith as other women would wear makeup. She is a sweet person with a smile to everyone, even those that wish her ill. She loves children and she spends some of her time educating, playing with, and caring for them, yet she is fair and strict when they misbehave, unconsciously this behavior translates to adults as well, caring for them and talking so they might hear and understand and being overly critic when she sees evil deeds going unpunished. She is unable to lie due to a vow made when she was a child... and the fact that she is unable, even if she wanted to... her emotions showing easily on her face, either happiness when helping people, determination when preparing for a quest or anger when confronted with despicable evil, particularly when related to orcs or oppressive authorities.

Because of how her mother died, Jordan despises people who abuse law and power, feeling unable to trust harsh authorities, yet she is disciplined and will defend fair laws and governments without a second thought. She also has a deep hatred for orcs, still she won't kill them on sight.

She loves to keep her body in peak condition, training in the mornings after praying and always keeps herself clean (keeping Irik her husband and party wizard close with a handy prestidigitation for that effect or bathing and cleaning her face continuously).

Jordan is always clean and neatly dressed. In battle she wears her wedding gift, a Breastplate of Confidence, its silvery and always kept in peak condition, its form is tight fitting but leaving space for movement, Iomedae's symbol is engraved in golden in both shoulders and greaves. For battle she wears a simple silvery helmet with Iomedae's symbol in the forehead, but preferring to have her hair free of it before the battle or when it has ended. She carries Faina, a longsword of elven craftsmanship made to beautifully resemble a holy symbol of Iomedae, and Fate her Heavy Silvery Metal Shield, engraved in the center of it is Iomedae's symbol. Below it she wears a simple shirt and breaches of grey linen. When traveling or in times of cold she wears along white cloak with hood, with blue interior.

Outside battle she wears a simple long silvery dress without sleeves and with the symbol of Iomedae embroidered between her breasts, she dresses only white sandals. When in times of cold, she also wears her white cloak. When dressing like this she uses a necklace with a leather cord attacked to a sharpened gauntlet’s little finger, she wears this as other women would wear their wedding ring.

When preparing for an important ceremony she wears a similar dress, but it is made of silvery silk, and instead of the Iomedae's symbol between her breasts, it presents a long cleavage down to her bellybutton, this is to show her birthmark that is a perfect replica of Iomedae's symbol. She doesn't like to wear it, acting shy and a bit embarrassed when she is made to... still she understands that sometimes, in order for people to believe, they have to see the marks of the goddess... and being born with one... its her duty to show it and work in Iomedae's name as hard or harder than others.

Alright, seems to be a browser problem and has been fixed. My answer:

- As far as Eli goes, the third one from the left is spot on. No changes, go with that one.
- And for Daniel, probably the version on the far left.

Good luck, man!

Awesome. Good to have someone "in the know", heh. Sorry to be so behind in posting this, but here is the first batch of ER iconics written up.

There is a lot of leeway in these really, as the images in my head are not always very specific. I've tried to include whatever I know for sure, plus a couple of non-visual characteristics too to help flesh them out and give hints of what might be appropriate. Let me know if there is too much detail or too little.

Thanks again! And now, w/o further ado...

Sgt. Viggo - Paladin/Human/Elbin - A former NCO in one of the King's longbow companies, Viggo recently left the service to roam the Isles after being handed down a mission from his late mentor to root out the abominations soon to befall the kingdom. Unshaven, with long brown, unruly hair, his armor would be chain, in a classic Norman soldier style, perhaps with a dash of crusader thrown on for good measure. His primary weapon is a longbow (possibly of whalebone?), though he keeps a footman's mace handy for up close fighting. (A regional feat allows Elbin paladins to smite with a longbow.) Grizzled and wary, he seeks out wickedness in the lands ahead…

Marigold - Cleric/Human/Elbin - Marigold is a young and impetuous devotee of The One True God. He trusts too easily, and angers just as easily after the fact – his belief is that nothing is worth doing if it cannot be done passionately. His dark blonde haircut would be close-cropped Henry V-style, and his chin is as beardless as a four year old’s bottom. He should be bedecked in hand-me-down plate of some description, with a longsword and shield ready to get into trouble. The main symbols of TOTG are crosses and the full moon, and both will probably appear on his livery somewhere. It may be better to concentrate more on the moon part though, as he could eventually also serve as an example of a particular holy order/prestige class that hunts shapeshifters...

Belsay Bristol - Rogue/Halfling/Fexal – Belsay lives a hard, dirty life as one of the blackleg miners crossing the border into Cyrwydd to work the pits. The Crown offers good coin for the work, but no protection from the locals who would just as soon cut her throat as look at her. She has long black hair that often hangs in her face, and goes well with the dark colors she must wear to move and work under cover of night. Belsay travels light in leather, her packs and belts bristling both with the tools of her trade, and with the daggers needed to cut her way out of trouble should a carefully laid trap or some ill-tempered citizens be waiting to take her down one night.

(Why do I suddenly feel like I am narrating a fashion show?)

Hamish Clydewater - Ranger/Dwarf/Gallowaian – Hamish roams the hills and moors of his homeland, ready to defend the borders of the Galloe clans against any incursion. The air is thin and cold in the highlands, but he must dress and travel light, and would likely not have any heavier armor than a chain shirt. (Can’t have anything that would cover up that kilt anyway.) He would likely have wild red hair – probably with some intricate braiding, but only in the beardic region. Axes are the order of the day here. A couple for swinging, but most of them for hurling at other peoples’ heads. His is not a grim watch, however, and he is a firm believer that he who laughs loudest, cleaves hardest. (Funnier in my head.)

Korvach – Monk/Mul/Fexal – An unwanted half-breed born amongst a conquered people, Korvach has been the very definition of “underclass” for nearly his whole life. He has no family name, as no clan would want to acknowledge him. Only after he found the brothers of the Order of the Golden Thingamajig did he find respect from another living soul was a thing he could both earn and expect. Now, after devoting himself to their training and teachings, he bears the scars he received under the lash in his early years proudly, not as a mark of shame. Entirely hairless (like all other half-dwarves), he dresses his sturdy frame simply – bare to the waist, and with only a simple set of brown breeches covering him. Korvach arms himself only with a spear when travelling.

Swizillister Gnistlegneiss – Bard/Gnome/Arran – As old as the hills, and on a first name basis with most of them, Swiz is a cranky storyteller with an acquisitive eye (and ear), and a voice like Tom Waits. In his long years, this prospector has found there are very few shiny objects that the hooked hammer at his side couldn’t pry loose from their (previous) homes. If observers aren’t put off by his shocks of grayish white hair and his hard, twitchy eyes, they usually are by the vast assortment of junk stashed about his person and in his belongings. A dedicated tinkerer, Swiz is always stashing discarded objects away in the event they may prove useful at some unspecified future date. Visible on his person at any time might be: a horseshoe, a couple of doorknobs, an old tin whistle, any number of spoons of varying sizes, one sixth of a broken wagon wheel, a smashed spyglass, a discarded brass outhouse seat, a rusted pulley from a well-rope, a battered mug, a broken drum, etc etc etc…

Madgael, a few questions...

Does Belsay wear shoes or is she more the traditional barefoot halfling?
Does Hamish have a tartan style kilt or is this the older version of the garment? Either way what color?
I'm suddenly blanking on the name of the monk. Okay, well, you know who I mean. Does he have any body art or jewelry of any kind?
And is Swiz a 3.5 gnome? The grey hair makes me think probably yes, but I wanted to make sure.

Here is my weird request...

Barin Mirak is a male rogue of keleshite descent from Alkenstar. He has black hair and deep tan skin. His impressive dexterity would be in most impressive physical attribute and his constitutiona and strength would be average for a human. His clothing is almost entirely composed of earthy tones and seems to be made to sustain quite a bit of punishment on a daily basis. He wields a revolver in his left hand and a short sword in his right. With a rapier as a back up weapon and thieves tools in various pockets and straps on his vest and belt. His wears padded armor that allows him to move easily without encumbrance.

The revolver is plain as far as additional decrative elements. If there are any decorations they would be relativly minor and likely be on the gun handle.

I have very little idea what the particulars of what kind of clothing. When it comes up in my mind I would like to describe his dress and even the way he carries himself as cowboy-esce or other wise like a character from wild west, however I am concerned that this might make him seem out of place in a prominantly fantasy setting. My greatest desired for this picture would be that he looks like he fits into a fantasy setting as well as the gun fits with the rest of the character.

Thank you.
