For those who were runner ups of the various Superstar contests, what'd you with your entries after it ended? Did you shop around for new publishers? Or is there a NDA with Paizo?
Good question! The entries themselves are 111% the property of Paizo Publishing, LLC - for example, they now own the rights to the character of Avinash, Master of the Catspaw Marauders, the concept of Xomauji the Storm Scholar, and the country of Zavaten Gura: Land of the Stained Peaks.
But a number of the Superstar contestants, since the conclusion of the competition, have begun working on other projects, including work for Paizo and other companies - the Final Four all worked on the amazing Pathfinder Chronicles Campaign Setting, available now.
For the majority of the contestants, I suspect, the great reward of Superstar was, beyond the chance to sharpen our skills & get feedback from amazing professionals like our esteemed judges, simply the opportunity to get our names out there; the ideas we pitched to Paizo for the contest were just a SMALL sample of what we're able to do!

As Boomer said, entries are the property of Paizo, but the Top Four all worked on the Campaign Setting. Some even took the opportunity to slip in some RPG Superstar entries as "easter eggs" in the Campaign Setting:
The NPC Stricia Zuzulova in the Rogues Gallery references Jason Nelson's Avinash, Master of the Catspaw Marauders;
And Clinton Boomer's Kakuen-Taka, the Hunger that Moves and Joe Outzen's Koytalya, Mistress of Demonlake both show up in the Worldwound.
And those are just the ones I noticed!
In addition, I believe Jason Nelson is working on the Pathfinder Companion: Osirion, Land of Pharaohs, while you can see some of my monsters in Pathfinder #14 and Pathfinder #15!

Coolio, Rob. Have you also been submitting material to other publishers or is your contract exclusive to Paizo?

I certainly don't have an "exclusive contract" with Paizo. That said, so far I've only done work for them, in no small part because of the edition change. With the announced change to 4e, I think the industry was in a bit of an upheaval, and for me, at least, it seemed easiest (and safest) to stick with Paizo. Even more so now that they've decided to stick with 3.x.
I wouldn't mind branching out, though, if I can find the time!

Makes sense. Thanks for the reply. I look forward to seeing more of your work.
