If the others agree Drivish will volunteer to climb first, and if Qadim-sul can fly he should probably go last to watch for trouble, or at least hover right next to Rin, in case of the inevitable.
Unfortunately I can only fly for a short time (1 move action) and short distance (8 squares), but I can float harmlessly to the ground if I'm not on solid ground at the end of the move (at least that's how I read the power). If we're all going to climb, I'd rather do that too and save the power for later.
Qadim-sul agrees to take the last position, scanning the floor below for danger.

As the party begins to descend the cliff-face, the more perceptive among you discern a small flock of half a dozen or so small (D&D small, not minute), scaly, winged creatures launch themselves from part of the carving below and begin to circle around, averaging around 50' from the climbers.
Actions and Init, please, I think I've used most of the pre-rolls, and this is more fun

Rin clutches his staff firmly, but waits to see if the drakes attack before doing anything drastic, more concerned with not falling off the cliff than anything else.
Init (1d20 2=20). Wouldn't you know it? Decent init roll just when he wants it least. Rin delays until after the drakes.

Drivish whispers through gritted teeth, "Oh, good... Try to get back up."
How far down are we? If there is solid footing within 50 feet or so, Drivish makes for it, or encourages those closest to the top to get back up. Otherwise, he delays.
Drivish is about 40' down, the others strung out above him (some of them barely out of the cave). There's footing ab about 30', and again at about 50'.

In that case...
After telling the others to make for solid ground, Drivish climbs down to the ledge (at 50') and readies his halberd.
Ready Reaping Strike 1d20+8 = 28; damage = 14, and mark the creature.

Lafiel climbs back up to the 30' ledge. Eying the drakes, she aims for one with a dagger, throwing it with precision and hitting one of the drakes.
On the unlikely occasion that a drake did not move until Lafiel's turn, she will aim for him (+2 to Hit roll, +2d8 to damage roll due to CA). If all of them moved, she'll aim for the biggest one
