Hey DM,
Will we be allowed access to sourcebooks outside of the core? I was perusing the Advanced Player's Guide from Green Ronin and found a feat and a couple of spells that seemed right down my alley. If I post you the details as laid out in the book would you consider them?
Yes. It would be fair, seeing as I used green ronin myself for some of my NPCs. I would need to approve it first though.
I have that book as well, I dig the system they have there to gut your racial abilities and replace them with other perks.

From the IC thread:
Delweir wonders how this messanger came to regard him as an adventurer. Then he decides it must be the penniless look that he gives off. With that, he grooms himself as best he can in a few minutes and heads off for this unique ship.
Heh, it could be because you don't have woodchips in your hair or smell of fish yet :P
Small town, word travels fast and everyone knows each other pretty much. The PCs stick out pretty easy right now.

Hey All, my deepest apologies. My lack of getting my Druid up and ready has nothing to do with my level of interest in this game and Everything to do with the fact that I am right now on vacation and have not always had easy access to the net. I am usually a multi-post per day-er, so please don't take this at all as my usual posting frequency.
I'll open my character page and begin it, but unfortunately won't be able to have in finished until tomorrow afternoon(that's Wednesday in North America). But after that I will be be able to post more frequently, promise.

Here's Grenep! One Bi-Polar Half-Orc Druid! ;-)
(not meant in any way to mock that condition btw, just so happens that this particular half-orc suffers from mild to severe mood swings)
Please tell me I'm still in the game DM??
I've been involved in a a few PbP's here now and have been disappointed by how slow and infrequent the posting has been in most of them and a few have been dropped already. I'm Loving the posting rate of everyone here and hoping I'm still a part of it? Purty Puh-lease! lol =D
(he'll be completed lickity split)

Ok Grenep's mostly done, just some minor additions and spell selection to list. (If there's anything you need changed Gm please lemme know?)
Ready to Rumble! =D

How about creating a profile? (laugh) so I can see what you did?
I like his attitude anyway so far.

No Harm, I'm just lighting a fire under your half orc butt.

WHAT??!! I spent HOURS last night working on and posting that!
Paizo was having problems all night but I Saw him posted on there before several times! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!I'll try and get it fixed Asap.
EDIT: Ok, he's done (almost) Again. I still need to fill in personality and background but I can whip that up quick once I have the time (I had Meant to do that this morn) it's the mechanics that takes me more time :P
Also I've added stats for Gritch, the Badger...but I, um, need some help on it, updating the little terror for being the animal companion of a 4th level Druid (as per the Natural Bond feat) If there's anyone that could help me with that? I'd be Much obliged...: )

I'm almost positive it was paizo, as sudo had the same apparent issue. I saw he made his Wizard then poof it disappeared.

You misunderstood the feat a bit. There is a level cap to the feat.
NATURAL BOND
Your bond with your animal companion is exceptionally
strong.
Prerequisite: Animal companion.
Benefit: Add three to your effective druid level for
the purpose of determining the bonus Hit Dice, extra
tricks, special abilities, and other bonuses that your
animal companion receives (see page 36 of the Player’s
Handbook). This bonus can never make your effective
druid level exceed your character level.
For example:
level 1 druid (no change.)
Level 1 druid, level 3 rogue = (consider companion stats based on level 4 druid.)
Really only useful if your multi classing and always want a high level companion. Feel free to keep that feat or swap it out if it does not appeal to you though.

As for spells, only one would come into play relatively soon, that being Eagle Eyes (1st level, +5 bonus on Spot checks). The others are Third Eye (3rd level, +4 on Spot and Search, prevents flanking) and Manyeyes (5th level, 360 degree vision, darkvision, see invisibility, +10 Search and Spot, can't be flanked or caught flat-footed).

This is shaping up to be quite an interesting party. Here's to many enlightening and profitable ventures!
I'm not sure everyone here is the type of person Kavelin would associate with in a social setting, but we certainly cover all the bases a good adventuring party needs. It's likely Kavelin will be getting into discussions of learned topics with Duneriur and Simn ad nauseum during our down time.

Kavelin if you want to take that feat now you can. Just add a flaw as well.
There's a potential for combat, so character needs to be finalized, i don't see a lot of your weapon profs. You need to pick those before combat starts. (the Variant Rule located on www.d20srd.org under variants has the rules for weapon groups.)
I just dropped Improved Initiative and took the prereq, so I can take it at 3rd level as I planned.
As for weapons, I was going for a typical wizard in that regard, so I suppose I'll go with the Basic Weapons group. I'll go add that on now.

DM: For the "Bad Mojo", how does that mechanic work? Who is rolling?
I roll.
If you roll a 1. I roll another d20 if I get a 1 you get bad mojo, all depends on what the roll was for.
Works for 20s too, if you roll a natural 20, I'll check for Good Mojo, another 20 rolled by me equals a critical success in that task.

Thank you. You can add more by cross classing or taking the feat corresponding with the weapon group name.
feat: Weapon Group (Heavy Blades.) for example.

I was contemplating how to handle combat, we got a lot of people so I'm thinking to speed it up have only 2 initiative rolls 1 for you 1 for bad guys.
whoever wins the entire side goes then the loser side goes. this will allow me to move and resolve all mobs squares/actions then allow you all to post your results whenever you get to it kinda thing. So we don't wait days for one person to go etc. The big drawback to speed (which I think is acceptable.) is the fact someone that chooses a very poor action has a chance to get ganged up on rather quickly. But then again it goes both ways and this is a large group.
I'd like to do it this way if there are no huge protests. What says the group? the alternative is doing individual initiatives and waiting for each person to post their actions.

Dungeon Master WA-74 wrote:That was awesome. In hindsight, I'd have to agree. I had no idea the guy would turn out to be an actual robot!
To the players:So do we have a concensus on making Muerdon the party leader? I've got no problem with it. Other votes?
Partly right, which is why it was awesome. It means the subliminal effect I was trying to get was kinda working.

Combat maps certainly make things easier, but with simple combats personally I don't think it's necessary.
Posting more often is always a good thing :)
No complaints whatsoever so far, it kinda feels like we're just Now starting out on our adventure though which is exciting.
Bring on more of the gaming goodness ;-)
