The screaming wounded bull-man swings his axe at Augrok, realizing this new opponent has yet to be tested. His full wrath is unleashed on Augrok, but fortune smiles on the half-orc. Despite a deadly sequence of attacks, he is struck only once by the creatures greataxe.
Augrok takes 16 slashing damage.
As Augrok reels from the gaping wound on his chest, a door behind the large creature opens. Standing in the door is a lean white-tinged bugbear wearing a gray robe with a crimson hand on the chest. Speaking a few words of the arcane tongue, and with a gesture of the hand points a crooked beclawed finger at Alexei. A red beam of energy shoots forth, narrowly missing Alexei and dissipating against the stone wall behind him. The bugbear curses his aim, and snarls an order: "Kurkulan, guard me. Wait for the worg riders!"
Nothing happens to Alexei.
Weylan moves up 20 feet closer to the party, continuing his illusion spell.
Round 4 starts!

Kin Lur |

Hey, I know you've got things that are keeping you off-line. Perhaps it would be better to shelve this for the time being instead of doing it by fits and starts. Just sayin'.
Kin Lur ended last turn in T22.
The halfling takes a move action to stow his bow and draws his greatsword as he moves up next to Alexei. I think I can make R21.

Alexei |

Alexei, recognizing the caster as the source of the most immediate danger, leaves the bull-man to Augrok and Kin Lur and closes quickly, his natural agility and intensive combat training allowing him to skirt past active combatants in order to carry through the attack.
DICE ROLLS
Acrobatics to tumble safely to caster: 1d20+7 = 20.
Attack roll with mystery short sword: 1d20+6 = 17.
If hits, damage: 1d6+2 = 8 plus whatever enhancement bonus the sword might have.

Dungeon Master Drax |

Kin Lur: It's been frustrating for me, but I think we can slog it through. I'll have plenty of free time in about two weeks!
Here is the recent map except for the spellcaster who is in P21.
Kin Lur - 23
Alexei - 22
Jorr - 19
Augrok and Ur - 18
Hobgoblins - 14
Mijanor - 13
Ergrin - 12
Vykos - 11
Large Enemy - 9
Weylan - 8
Kin Lur moves forward, ready to enter the fray with blade drawn. Alexei successfully steps past the larger opponent and stabs the spellcaster in the chest with his short sword. "You'll pay for that, smooth-skin!"
Jorr raises his bow to the top of the wall, firing two arrows into the side of the large creature perched atop. This was the creature that fired large black spikes at the party.
14 piercing damage.

Augrok Manyteeth |

Wounded by the bull-man, Augrok decides to try another tactic. A spoken word and gesture sends Ur back, out of harm's way for now, hopefully. A short step back put him out of immediate range of being menaced, beginning to gesture and speak, calling to the spirit of fire in orcish. For those that did not speak it, the words that he spoke sounded crude, brutish, and entirely uncivilized, short snarls, sharp barks and guttural transitions.
"Warmth that lives, I offer you metal. Heat that feeds, I give you steel. Fire that burns, their weapons are yours and through them their FLESH!!" That last word he roared, spreading his hands towards the bull-man.
I don't see any change on the map given our new positions, am I following the right link?
Augrok's Action: Heat Metal, intending primarily the weapons of the Minotaur and the next closest opponent

It's cool -- I just recall this being an adventure you liked and figured you didn't want it to die a slow death from inactivity. If you needed to take a break, I can't imagine anyone complaining. But glad to hear you've got free time coming -- hopefully everyone else's schedule will allow a flurry of activity! (Saying that, my schedule is pretty consistently tight, so I may become the laggard at a time like that...)

Hi Kirth!
Long time, no post, eh?
I'm really sorry that I just dropped off the face of the earth Burlew-style, so allow me to explain.
I was out of town the first few weeks of the summer, and forgot to post and update to my whereabouts. Upon returning home, I was immediately offered an interview for a new job and subsequently got said job.
That weekend I set about buying a new car and finding a place to live. I got the car, and moved, all in the space of 3 weeks. I got my internet hooked up mid-August and have been really busy since. I'm amazed where the two months have gone.
I'm going to continue to be REALLY busy this year with my job, so I think we can officially (duh!) put the campaign on hold until at least Christmas time.
So again, to all the players, I apologize for my prolonged departure. To be honest, after missing so much time I was feeling too guilty to come back to the boards. But it's nice to be missed!
PS. Got my PRPG Core book a few days ago. SWEEEET!

Quite frankly, I'm just glad to hear you're doing all right. Congratulations on the new job, by the way.

Yeah, the boards just haven't been the same without you, buddy. Glad to hear things are going well for you -- congratulations on the job! No hard feelings about the PBP -- just drop us a line occasionally when you're able. Cheers!
