Now before you all scream "You can buy the Beta directly from Paizo" I know that is a choice. Just trying to support the guys who own the FLGS and do nice things for me.
Any idea when they could hit local retail?
Any plans for a re-print?
Your best bet is to buy from the Paizo store, as it sounds like they're selling like hotcakes. Erik mentioned in a similar thread that they are considering a reprint but it would be at least 10 weeks after the order before they receive a restock.
With GenCon UK coming up the Beta 1st printing will be sold out soon.

I had the Beta pre-ordered from Amazon.de since the beginning of June, and it seems that they are not able to get it.
I can understand that Paizo didn´t want to do a big print-run, but this seriously annoys me.
Or maybe the logistics guy at Amazon.de was on vacation, what do I know... the Pathfinder and KOTOR Campaign setting also were not in stock or delayed. :-/

We have shipped an order of the Beta to our book distributor and that should be available to Amazon. But we don't have any control about whether they order it or not once we ship it to the distributor.

Oh, yeah ... and it being in pdf might have been a reason for that , too. =/
After the completed edition comes out though I am going to display my beta on the shelf special. lol

We WILL be doing a second print run soon, but it will take close to 2 months to make its way back here to Seattle. The reaction to the Beta has been incredible and we want to make sure we have enough books to help the playtesters out!

Also, just to keep things clear: Paizo still has plenty of the Beta in stock. We will have to do a reprint, as we are going through them more quickly than we anticipated.
We are also going through them more quickly than distribution anticipated. Many FLGS don't have them yet as the distributors under-ordered for the demand. Fear not, though, as restocks are on their way. Stores that didn't get their copies on the first round should be getting them shortly in the second round.

My FLGS, DiceHouse Games, recently notified me that, due to the sheer interests in Paizo products by gamers, that it'll be regularly stocking mods, campaign books, etc. That's good news for me, since I've been special ordering everything :)

That's good news indeed!
I'm always glad to hear that another retail outlet is picking up Paizo products!

Days of Knights in Newark, Delaware had all the Rise of the Runelord books and all of the Curse of the Crimson Throne in stock along with a bunch of Gamemastery combat Pads, Pathfinder Chronicles, and stuff like that but no Pathfinder campaign settings or Betas.
Also the Werecabbages should be proud, they stocked PC Gems and GM Gems also.silverhair2008 |
I got my Beta on Friday, Aug 29, and I have been looking through it today. It appears that there are some interesting adaptations to the classes. I will be posting on the Playtest forum if anyone is interested. I can't say when that will be but suffice it to say that I will have something to talk about. I wish you all a long and happy life.
