True enough. Desna probably has embedded herself as the "Varisian Diety" a bit too stronly in my perception of the setting. Nethys... i must admit i forgot about her.
That's actually kind of by design; Desna's one of the oldest deities in our pantheon, probably one of the oldest 3 or 4. She's very central to Golarion, and is one of the most important deities, even if only because she's been around a lot longer than most of the other gods.

so....a player of mine really liked Calistria. She fit in the best with his concept...except he is the antithesis of lust.
He is a middle-aged man, once a shiver addict, who disguises himself as an old man and a beggar. He is very much into the revenge for our fair city thing, though, and sets up alley-way shrines to the Goddess of Trickery. His class: cleric (though he might take some rogue levels at some point).
Where would he fit in with the church as a whole?
I'm actually making a female half-elf cleric of Calistria for our upcoming game. Since I'm not interested in roleplaying the lust angle of the religion, I've made the character celibate. She was trained by a sect of Calsitrian priestesses who sacrifice their veneration of that aspect of the goddess for strengthening their worship of her trickery aspects. This will give the character a reason to multiclass into either rogue or wizard (with a focus on illusion powers). I still need a name for the sect though.

I've got my own concept for a Callista Cleric.
CN Male Elf Ceric (trickery&charm domains). decent mental ability scores, low physical except for dex. whip-weilder who trips and disarms, casts alot, or solves problems through diplomacy and liberal use of charm person. Magnificent Bastard, if I can pull it off, complete with ponytail, frock-coat/trench-coat, giant boots, and a constant ironic grin. fairly light on the lust aspect, as befits the elven verson of the diety

Sorry I saw this too late. Merisiel has that yellow and black sash, and also a mysterious gem in her third eye. How's about the down-low on the trepanning?
Or did she do that because she has an Int of 8, and the sales pitch about carving out a part of her skull to relieve the unnatural pressures on her brain sound like a good idea?
Was it someone else's bright idea, and that's why she has a low Int?
We've had an article on Zon-Kuthon, and one on some flesh-runes of the Runelords, but still nothing on thw world's oldest surgical procedure.
Is this something that's waiting on the psionic excursion to Castrovel?
