I am sorry my friend, but requests cost extra.<smiles> I understand Taldor's woes, but we can hardly be blamed for the ruin of their endeavors. We are happy to let them sate their despair in our markets if that is their wish, and give them a fine bargain for their coin at that.
Of course I can get her an instrument I will even give her the special rate I have for countrymen.

I have a request, it is an oldie but goody from Taldor. I figure I would request it for them as we are hosting the gathering here. I belive it is called "Blame Qadira!" I am sure our Taldoran guest are just a little to coy to ask for it themselves so I would figure we would air out their grievances now.
We have a saying in Katheer: music hath charm to soothe the savage beast.
*eyes sack of gold that was brought in earlier*
We have another saying: we'll play it if you pay it.

There once was a bard of Oppara,
the city of glitter and jewels,
who came to the court of our Pasha
and called all the Keleshites fools.
"How can you stand to live
knee-deep in sand and sieve
out all your skivvies each dawn?
Taldorans like me," said he,
"Have real society;
or at least we have acres of lawn.
"We like to sing songs that are dandy
in palaces somewhat less sandy.
The grit in my hose is affecting my nose
and I can't get a tumbler of brandy.
Your proscriptions I can't obey
so I will go away
back to my own northern shore."
The Pasha said, "You must pay
for treating us this way;
musicians should please us, not bore!"
So they cut out the tongue
and strung up by the thumb
that Opparan, that bad troubadour.
You can blame the Quadirans
for not liking musicians
from Oppara in Old Taldor.

Great and Honored friend Chelaxians, I delight at the grandeur of your feast, and yet weep the coldest of tears to know that once, they were bitter enemy, your father's father and my grandsire - in times long past, when this breathtaking land south of the Emihym Foothills lay senseless in the sway of the Last Azlanti, the blood of your kind would have been as sweet wine to my lips.
Yet the coming of House Thrune has washed away, in but few short years, the foolish animosity that once befouled your glorious City of Thorns! I stand astonished, in amazement, and in all other ways flummoxed at our good fortune!
Cheers, then, to House Thrune!
Cheers, also, to the Black Triune!
... and Cheers, always, to Queen Abrogail - may the soft shadows of Pangolais be ever at her back!

That might have been adequate, but it was hardly up to the quality of even the lowliest Taldorian bards. I'd practice more if I were you; maybe someday you'll be able to play on a street corner somewhere.

Who among you has the courage to serve Asmodeous with me? Speak curs, for I would know my righteous breathern and separate out the worthy warriors from the cowardly dogs found in the other factions. Declare your loyalty and allegiance to Cheliax or join the ranks of our slaves.
MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

O Illustrious Masters and Mistresses!
If you are finished with your revelry, I would be overjoyed for the honour of being allowed to offer some of you a guided tour of the Jewel of the Inner Sea!
Please believe me when I tell you that I can show you areas of our city through which you have never travelled, all beautifully silvered in the moonlight, the stars charmingly reflected in the puddles below.
I should warn you, however, that some of the path that we shall follow may be quite strenuous, so I advise leaving all of that heavy armour behind.
Are there any of you Divine Ones who appreciate a good moonlit stroll?

I apologize - my iron mask, I had not removed, for I had expected no such gentle company! And worse, before, I spoke too quickly - the lovely young lady here not yet done with her song, or at the least her hosts still contemplating the melody's virtues.
My heart, I am afraid, was roused to speak too soon - I am unused to such fine music, all but unheard, deep in the Uskwood.
Such quality, this city, and such charm, my hosts - they are kind, even as Taldorians slight Qadirians in the very house of the Majestrix. All honor to the City of Thorns, and to Queen Abrogail the Wise, and all whom she commands!
My lady, where DID you learn to sing so beautifully - so unlike anything I've heard before?

Hmm, we need something different. But not so different that others wouldn't come.
This barbeque was a huge success, but having another one would be dull. Maybe a ball or dance of some kind. Eh, But I've never been good at that.

Sit, I shall, friend Lazaro - and hope, I should, that this might not be our last opportunity for acquaintance, but rather the first of many!
From whence hail you, sir, if I may ask - oh, and trouble you, might I, for cake as well? Neither I nor Tragedy ...
<pets his wolf>
... have eaten scarce enough since setting out from Ridwan.

Plates some cake for Elaksynder
Here you are my friend, and some meat for you wolf.
I call many places home. But I find that this place is the best by far. The people I've meet and cultures I've encountered are truly fantastic.

I should right a thank you letter for being transfered here. I mean if I wasn't here...I would probably be stuck behind a desk, filing paperwork back home.
Not that it's not a noble job. Just something I ever saw myself doing.

Wait, a ... a ball, says he? With dancing, then, unless I miss my guess - and music, too?
Such a thing, sirs, I've not seen - nor even known to be a truth! If women, there shall be, I should expect I'll need attire much more formal! And perhaps a bath as well, not for just myself but also Tragedy!
