I'm back.

Been to the Rhum Factory. They assured me that the keg of Rhum will be delivered on time. In exchange I promised that their problems with their "workers" will soon cease.

Ah Radavel, welcome back. For awhile I thought I was talking to myself.

*Puts his Harrow deck to the side.

So we have the keg than. I took care of the entertainment. Now all we need is get the site ready for the tournament.

*Sips from is wine glass.

I truly look forward to this. Let's not forget to invite the other factions though. I don't wish to slight them

Liberate Tutemae Ex Inferis!

Scarab Sages

I'm torn - I have Zander the Taldan Fencer or Alemandus here as a Chelaxian Bard.

Which to choose for Year 0.

Advice?

Harrow Deck? Harrow Deck? Have you gone native? Have you been spending too much time with those freedom-loving Andorans-in-bright-colors Varisians? Do we need to send you to speak with Her Majestrix's Inquisitors? You're a Chelaxian, act like it!

*keeping his eye on the suspicious ones in the room*

This?

*Picks up his deck.

It was my fathers. It's the only thing I have to remember him by.

And as for spending too much time with the Andorans and Varisians. That is my business, not yours. Now if you'll excuse I have to begin the preparations for our little get-togeter, and invite the other factions aswell.

Su-tang recently joined the ranks of the Chelaxian faction.

The Exchange

*Una presents herself at the Kitchen entrance to the Chelaxian Lodgings.*

"Greetings! I am Una the Butcher. Please accept as gift to your house and your guests this Jar of Saffron pickled Hogsfeet...I make them myself."

*Hands a five Gallon jar of Saffron pickled Hogsfeet to the Kitchen staff before departing.*

Dark Archive

Why, thank you. Please have some BBQ.

The Exchange

Radavel wrote:

*Turns at the unexpected invitation to face the Chelaxian nobleman in the Kitchen Doorway.*

"I thank you for your fine offer to Join the festivities of your house noble Sir, unfortunatly I am already behind schedule on tomorrow's work. Fine foods do not prepare themselves."

*Una the Butcher nods and continues toward her waiting Cart and Mule.*

Today is the day. Let us gather, so that we can start our festivites.

*Runs to the kitchen to check on the cake and barbeque

Well met my fellow Chelaxians. May the blessings of the Dark Prince guide your dealings, promote your interests, and bring your enemies to ruin.

I have recently joined the Pathfinders and have already began successfully promoting the interests of Cheliax and Paracountess Zarta Dralneen.

OOC: Had a lot of fun playing in the Pathfinder Society scenarios this weekend. I was especially lucky and got to play in "The Frozen Fingers of Midnight" run by Craig Shackleton himself and it was a blast.

Dark Archive

May the blessings of Asmodeus bring us great riches and power. I have just finished to promote the blessings of his dark majesty trhough the wise ministrations of his envoy the Parancountess Zarta.

Greetings to you followers of the true way for law and order , may the Dark prince blessings on your endeavours.

Neraj.

ooc: I was extremly lucky to play all four scenarios and having a blast through them in gencon.

Cheers!

blundith.

*Runs around the building trying to get the last preprations ready for the tournament.

Okay the food is ready. I'll have that sent out first. Um, who was in charge of finding us a place for the joust? I need to know where I'm sending the servants too. That and where to send all our guests.

Dark Archive

Preparations should have been taken care of.
Master won't be pleased...

The Dark Lord shines his blessings upon us all! Or am I catching the light emitted by the heretic bodies being consumed by cleansing hellfire? More meat for the feast.

Until Radavel arrives with the tournament's prize I'm done.

*SIGH

I guess I'll go and invite the other factions, before this day ends.

Dark Archive

I'm here with the rhum.

Shadow Lodge

Ah, the Rhum is here! Now we're getting somewhere.

*Rubs his aching feet

I invited the other factions. No clue if there coming. The only one I can be sure of is Samir, since he and his ilk are providing the entertainment.

If you'll excuse me a moment. I am in need of a drink. It's been a long day.

*Walks back into the room with a glass and a bottle of wine.

We still need to book the venue. Seeing as you've been here longer, Radavel, and now the town better than I. Would you mind setting it up?

Dark Archive

Sorry I’m late. It takes longer than I thought to clean up blood stains.

The Play by Post section like we discussed, yes?

Thread Title suggestions?

How about: "The 1st Asmodeus Cup"?

Shadow Lodge

Pathfinder Adventure Path, Lost Omens, Rulebook, Starfinder Adventure Path, Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

Hmm, that does have a ring. But I think the other factions may take offense.

How about the 1st Annual Pathfinder Games?

Any other suggestions?

Dark Archive

Lazaro wrote:

Offense? How dare they take offense, considering that we, Chelaxians, are paying for this? It's not as if they're volunteering for the BBQ....

Shadow Lodge

This is true...

*Scratches his chin

I mean we are the hosts, so we have the right to name it whatever we want. Ok, 1st Asmodeus Cup it is!

Dark Archive

Title Check.

Events?

We'll have jousts and melee combat. How about something for the fairer gender? Who am I kidding... this is fantasy, of course, they can join the jousts and melee combat.

Rules?

Shadow Lodge

Pathfinder Adventure Path, Lost Omens, Rulebook, Starfinder Adventure Path, Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

Rules...hmm. Well of course killing your opponent is out. I don't think the city will look kindly on us for that. Perhaps the contest should be contested under First Blood rules.

*Takes a long sip from his cup

Maybe instead we give them competitors wooden swords. The last to be rendered unconscious wins, and moves on. We could have fights under a point system. First to, let's say, 10 points moves on.

Dark Archive

Killing = disqualification.

Point System, fine. Perhaps, extra points for critical hits.

Knockout elimination system to speed things up.

Shadow Lodge

Pathfinder Adventure Path, Lost Omens, Rulebook, Starfinder Adventure Path, Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

I think that would work. Feels like we're forgetting something.

Dark Archive

Prize? Check.

Contestants? Big registration process.

Shadow Lodge

Pathfinder Adventure Path, Lost Omens, Rulebook, Starfinder Adventure Path, Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

Not too big. I'm sure some of our fellows won't mind doing it.

Roarik, said he would tend to any of the wounded.

Now should we charge a fee? I mean the winner is getting a very nice prize. And I see no reason why we shouldn't make some kind of profit.

Dark Archive

Prize: aside from the rhum, tremendous bragging rights.

Charge? In the currency that we prefer. Favors.

Shadow Lodge

Pathfinder Adventure Path, Lost Omens, Rulebook, Starfinder Adventure Path, Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

All joking aside, maybe charge 5 silver to 1 gold. We should make a profit in no time.

*Reaches out for his deck and begins shuffling.

I have a feeling this will be a great success.

Welcome Markus. Please have a seat. Would you like some barbeque? Perhaps some cake...Devil's Food of course

Let me ask, how do you feel about taking paperwork? More importantly how would you like to work registration for our 1st Asmodeus Cup?

Dark Archive 5/5

Greetings, I'm Klaus Drax-Thrune. Perhaps you know me from Kitalah's coming out party? I'm sure it made all the papers.

An Asmodeus Cup? What a joy it will be to show our beloved nation's superiority to the others.

<<munch, munch, munch>> This cake is scrumptious!

Sovereign Court

Anneke Bjornsdottir, a tall, unhealthily thin woman of clearly Ulfen ancestry enters the room, arms full of folded red and black tapestries. She is barefoot, dressed in a simple slave's smock; a heavy iron band rings her neck. She gingerly sets the tapestries aside and bows low to Lararo, Radavel, and the other honored Chelaxians in the room. Doing so, it is obvious that her right arm ends, not in a hand, but a smooth stump. "Forgive my intrusion masters, but my mistress has sent me to assist you with preparations for the tournament. How may I serve you?"

*Stoping long enough to notice the bowing woman.

Please no need for such formalities. I am Lazaro. My associate here is Radavel.

*Taking her left hand he walks her to a seat at the table.

Now how about some food, and perhaps something to drink?

*A smile crosses the Chelaxians face. With a sanp of his fingers a servant brings out a plate of food, and a glass of water.

If you perfer a stronger let me know. Now, my dear...I'm sorry, I did'nt get your name?

You say your mistress sent you here? May I inquire just who she is? And what skills do have to contribute to our tournament?

Sovereign Court

A pink glow sneaks across Anneke's face as she allows herself to be led to the table. Anneke rests her right arms stump in her lap and sips at the water. "Thank you master Lazaro. The water is very refreshing on such a hot day. I doubt anything stronger would quench my thirst as well."

Anneke dares to meet Lazaro's eyes only for a second, then returns her gaze to the table, food, and drink before her. "My name was Anneke Bjornsdottir, though Anneke alone is more than adequate now. I am a slave of house Ederus, and frequently wait on both of the ladies of the house, mother and daughter."

Anneke lifts her arms, resting her forearm and stump on the table between Lazaro and herself. "As for the tournament, I have been sent to help with decorations, and to serve the honored guests. Even with my injury," she glances again at her stump, "I am capable of pouring drinks, taking cloaks, and many other tasks. In short, consider me at your disposal."

Anneke's gaze wanders off for a bit, memories of another time clouding her eyes. "I would not dare consider entering the tournament. Surely it is not appropriate for a slave to do so. Besides, it has been long since I have wielded a weapon any deadlier than a kitchen knife." Anneke pauses again for a moment, "all of that said, I do have a talent with words, and I would be very happy to assist in announcing the contestants and recounting their deeds this day."

Anneke rises form her seat and kotows to Lazaro, touching her forehead to his boots, "Again master Lazaro, I am yours to command, at least for the present."

*He gently places a hand on her chin

Please, Anneke, there is no reason for you to do that. I am not sure how it is done in your house, but when you are here we are equals and friends. So please no master. Lazaro is fine.

*Whispering breifly in her ear

Not all Chelaxians are the same.

*He helps her back to her seat.

If I may, what happened to your hand?

Sovereign Court

Anneke crosses her arms and looks away from Lazaro. A tear wells up in both eyes as she galnces down at her stump, her hateful stump. After a moment's more hesitation, she finally speak. "I lost my hand and my freedom as a result of my own foolishness. I sailed here from my homeland alongside a host of my father's men. I was not so strong as any of them, but I was as handy with my sword as most. We were to grow rich fighting as mercenaries for your mighty nation, bringing those Andorans that you hate so much to heel."

Anneke pauses for a moment, turns back toward Lazaro, and takes the glass of water with her one good hand, again taking a sip. "Negotiations, though, went somewhat awry. Your country would not meet our demands, countering that other tribes of Ulfen fought for less. We turned to leave, and should have done so directly, but another idea formed in my mind. I thought I was so clever then."

After another sip of water, Anneke presses on with teh tale, her voice cracking as stress rises within her. "We did sail for home, but I, I was in charge at the time, I decided that we should stop at every isolated Chelaxian village along the way, burning, pillaging, taking thralls to toil in our own lands. The first such raids were successful, very much so indeed, but your nation is not one to be trifled with. At our final stop, we were surprised to find not commoners, but a contingent of Hell Knights. My warriors fought bravely, and they died to the man. The leader of the Hell Knights struck my hand off with his own sword, but I did not have the courage of my warrior brethren. I could have charged the man, forcing him to kill me, but I, " she falters again, "I fell to my knees and begged for mercy. I am not sure if it was mercy that he showed me or not, but it is what I deserved. The Hell Knights bandaged my stump and slapped me in irons, returning me to Egorian where I was sold as a slave. The young mistress Ederus, a student of wizardry, bought me. I finished out her final term at teh arcane academy as her personal slave. On her graduation, I returned here to Absalom with her where I continue to serve her and her family."

Anneke glances toward the window, hoping the sun might give some indication of the time. "I apologize for the lengthy tale. I have taken too much of your time master Lazaro. Now might I be of some assistance. The mistresses Ederus will be displeased if they were to arrive and find me dallying."

**strides in as sun rises bathing him on its glow ** "a fine tale well told", but I am sure that we all know that any tale has many layers and each layer reveals a sometimes unwanted truth!", (smiles) "but what the hey we are here to introduce myself - Farefiax Gloom, out of Korvosa, committed to the Chelaxian cause and ready to see our aims acieved - whatever the cost!" (sniffs) any BBQ still going?

Sovereign Court

Taking note of the man newly entering the room, Anneke politely excuses herself from conversation with Lazaro and makes her way to Farefiax, bowing low. "Might I take your cloak honored master? I will return shortly with the barbecue. Perhaps you would like something to drink as well?"

Shadow Lodge

Please Farefiax have a seat anywhere. Someone will bring you a plate of barbeque shortly.

A late Chelaxian countryman walks in.

He stands silently in the darkess corner of the room/place and watches standing silently and motionless as things unfurl around him. His frame and face covered by a dark cloak his face hidden behind a featureless silvery mask which only exposes the eyes... a bit too dark to peer easely into them without standing too close to him (or having a a really high perception rank!).

He bows his head silently in answer to any greetings calls himself The Shade (not the shadow, the shade...)

Sovereign Court

After neatly hanging Farefiax's cloak in the cloakroom, Anneke returns to his table, cradling a decanter of wine in her right arm and carrying a platter of barbecue in her left hand. "Your barbecue, honored master," she says, placing the platter before him. Her one hand free, she is now able to fill the glass already at the table with a rich red wine. "Is there anything else that I might be able to do for you master?"

Well, my dear, until I hear from Radavel about the venue. We don't have much to do. I was thinking about preparing the hall for guests. Would you care to assist me in that?

Leaning closer he whipsers, I am truly sorry about your situation Anneke. If there is anything you need, please don't hesitate.
