Hey all, I just wanted to pop in and say great job on keeping this campaign going, school took an unexpected turn for the worse and I had to drop out early on. Glad things have been going well, I've read the last few pages and things look intense!
Keep up the good work, I'll be watching this campaign closely as it advances in the future. =]

Zalen Candorian |

LMAO Ayedah. Remind me to never get in a (booze) drinking contest with you! Although at least you are strong enough to be able to carry Zalen's unconscious form home afterwards :)
And Hey Nayr! Great to see you're still around! Would be great to have you back if you find yourself with the time. This group has really gelled nicely together but I am sure we would have room for another old friend
;-)

Nayr Goldwyn |

Hey Zalen! Good to see you again too, and actually I'd love to rejoin now that school is over and summer is officially in session. Though... there are a number of problems including level differences, where he was all this time, etc, etc.
But heck, if Wrath and me came up some solutions to the above problems, I'd be a very happy man. Up to you Wrath and the other players though, and in either case, again, keep up the good work you guys!
And hello to TN if he's still around. :D

![]() |

I see no problems with getting you back into the game Nayr. Level yourself up to 3. Give yourself about 800gp to spend and we'll write you back into it very soon.
I'll keep it as a surprise for all involved, though I'll give you some stuff to work with in this thread in the mean time. I have an idea to tie you back into the game, will pitch it at you and see what you think. Hopefully it will get you in sooner rather than later.
This also frees me up from having to NPC Gern as well as DM. I'll put him into semi retirement until TN takes over again.
Cheers

Nayr Goldwyn |

Alright, leveled him up to three, and bought him some armor. Figured he could while he was away doing whatever he was doing. I'm up for figuring out a way to write him in anytime, so just say the word Wrath and we can devise a plan or something of the sort.
And thanks so much for this, I really appreciate it. =]

Valkyrie Paine |

Whoa, hey there Nayr! :) It'll be great to have you back! We're going to need to get you caught up on what's happened so far!
And YES! First critical with the earthbreaker!
On a spider. :(
I'm really happy for Krek though. Now Gern owes him one. ;) I'm going to be sad to see Gern leave for a while. He and Krek are fun to watch.
LMAO Ayedah. Remind me to never get in a (booze) drinking contest with you! Although at least you are strong enough to be able to carry Zalen's unconscious form home afterwards :)
Speaking of which, how is everyone now as far as suffering from poison. Zalen and Gern seemed to get the worst of it, but I think everyone got poisoned at least once so far.

Khaladon |

oops! Oh ya, I forgot about Z's condition, thanks for reminding me....better rewrite that into my last post. But maybe I could get some opinions as I'm not quite sure how to write a significantly lowered Wisdom...how exactly would that effect a character?
And Great that you'll be rejoining us Nayr! Have you had the time (or do you intend to) read up on everything that you've missed? Also, I'm not the expert on this but might Nayr have more HP than you've given him? due to all the extra stuff that the new PF system gives? Like either extra hp or skil point per level and doen't toughness give the extra hp for every level? Also, don't forget about the nifty new Domain Powers Clerics have under the new system! =D
Oh, and also, does anyone recall what was in in-game story of Nayr's departure? Had he perhaps taken most of the children off to get adopted or something like that?

![]() |

When last we had heard from Nayr, he was leading the children from Lamms place into the darkened streets, hoping to lead them to safety.
When I'm not srrounded by screaming children I'll write Nayr a little background blurb to bring him p to speed and we'll reintroduce him when the time's right..
I'll be updating both my games tonight extensively with some luck.
Cheers

Hopefully this won't impact too heavily on the fate of Nayr and those children! ;-)

Nayr Goldwyn |

Ah, yeah I didn't realize he gets an extra +1 HP every level in addition to the +3 at level 1 for the Toughness feat. And then there was the favored class bonus to the HP and skill points, thanks for pointing those out Zalen! And the cleric domain spells are accounted for in his sheet, do you mean the domain bonus ability type thing? I thought they decided to take those back out. I only have the beta rulebook though, so maybe that's the reason. XP
Also, I'm reading the thread and getting caught up as we speak!

Nayr
Going to make this short and dirty, got lots on at the moment. Ok, you managed to lead the kids to the safety of your friends house. The father took you in grudgingly. He's not happy about his sons death and blames you for it a bit. The next mornging the town was rioting and you were called to duty at the church. Things got fairly nasty for a while there and you saw some combat, something you don't like to talk about(feel free to make up the details for this part of your life).
When the riots had died down you and your mates father found homes for a number of the orphans. One of them, a girl of 12 years by name of Elizah, went missing about 4 days ago. She was selling flowers around the docks district. As you went searching for her, you were taken suddenly from behind and knocked unconcious.
You awoke in the cramped and wet holding cell you're currently occupying. The people who captured you have spoken of "the hand over" coming soon. You have no idea how long you've been here or what they mean by the hand over, but they havn't fed you yet. The sudden sounds of combat and screaming coming from somehwere close has just woken you, but your head feels very groggy. There's a strange taste in your mouth and your arm is burning as if something has been stabbed into it.
Welcome to the game. Jump right into the game thread and make sure you spoiler tag your responses until you meet up with everyone else.
Cheers

Nayr
The gear has been stashed. You'll get it when you get out, or if you get out hehe. You were pretty thoroughly searched but I'm willing to leave your holy symbol with you. Also, you'll still have spells preppared. You're in a small room, a wooden door is locked and is the only way out. No windows, but you can see light from under the door. Its cold, and very wet, with moisture leaking from the wooden walls of the room. It smells briny.

![]() |

Hey Nayr, glad to see you. I had such delicious pains in store for you ;)
Seriously, glad you found your way back. While my end of things sorts itself out (it does pretty well - actually, and I am confident I can pop back in in a month or so), I take it you and Wrath are busy getting you back on board?
Anyway, glad to see you.

Nayr Goldwyn |

Good to see you're still around as well TN. Hopefully some of those plans still are usuable even though Nayr took a break for a more than a few months, hehe. ;D
Yep, check the spoiler tags above if you wish to see his current situation, writing up a post in a few moments to re-enter the cleric back into the thread. Kind of. :P
And man, reading over a thousand posts was much more difficult than I first thought it would be. Hahaha, but really, I have to congratulate all of you on your roleplaying and inventiveness, if this was a published novel, I would have driven out to the store and purchased it already. It was a relaxing and adventure filled day in front of the screen for me, thanks for that. =]
And Val, that picture of Ayedah is jaw-dropping! The style of the earthbreaker looks pretty darn cool.

![]() |

Has my return killed the thread? D:
Or is it just the holiday weekend?
Hoping it's the latter. :P
No, possibly my fault more than anything.
I start back at work next week after six months off for long service. Been getting my head space back into teaching and spending as much time as possible with the family.
Will try and get back into nightly updates again this week.
Weekends always slow down game threads though, so no fear there Dave.
Cheers

I handed the game over to Wrath till the end of Edge of Anarchy, and if he wants to remain at the seat, he can. But from the end of the current scene on, I feel confident I should be able to get back in the saddle.
I'm happy to hand you back your game any time you want TN. Let me know when and it's all yours. I'll be happy to go back to Gern :) and it will be great to have you back.
I'm enjoying the DM role but I have my own game running to get that fix as well.
Cheers
TN
I've introduced Nayr having been abducted by Devargos group. It's pretty vague at the moment but my plan was to tie this into his backstory. His friend who was killed was a vengence attack against that guys father. Now the group who orchestrated that are trying to get to him in other ways. They took the girl Elizah, and then they hired Devargo to nab Nayr. Up to you what you want to do with it though. I've read the rest of Anarchy now, btw, but I'm pretty good at keeping player knowledge separate from character knowledge.

Valkyrie Paine |

Yeah, don't worry Dave! Sorry for my own lateness. The holidays and illness teamed up on me...

:)!

![]() |

I'll let you finish up the scene, Wrath. It looks like another hasty transition isn't the best response, I think. :)
That said, great job everyone. Went down quite a bit different from what I'd have done, but you did well.

TN
Heya boss, got a quick question for you. The deal we made with Halvera has us handing over a chest from Devargos room. The module only has one in it, which has all the loot and the letters. You want me to keep it as is so they miss the loot or were you going to put an extra chest in. Given we had aid in thinning the guards down and are getting a stipend from the place now I can understand why we'd miss the treasure. Just need to know before they reach that room is all. Cheers

Wrath:

![]() |

Well, that just about brings an end to my stint as GM. I'll resolve anything we need to on the ship, after that its back to TN for how he wants to resolve the fallout of this little operation.
TN
The women are just flavour for the drug operation, though I reckon they'll become important for our group hehe. Also, the guard was just flavour as well. My nod at the Austin Powers henchman syndrome. Feel free to take over at any time now boss. I started teaching this week so handing the game over will free up more time for me. Cheers, it was fun. Hope I did alright by your campaign

Valkyrie Paine |

Whew. I'm finally caught up on RL stuff so I can re-read all of the OOC threads. I missed more than I thought...
And yeah Wrath! You did great!
And good to have ya back, Terra. :) (we're not going to get those genie bottles are we?)
And Val, that picture of Ayedah is jaw-dropping! The style of the earthbreaker looks pretty darn cool.
Thanks! I wish I could take the credit for that clothing design and earthbreaker, but that was all Hugo Solis! I wish I had half of his talent!
Oh yeah, don't forget that we had two break-away threads too!

Valkyrie Paine |

You go girl! LOVE seeing the bad-ass side of Ayedah! lol
Hehe. I was worried about derailing everyone else with that even before we went inside Devargo's ship. But sense we're carrying two people in bad shape with us already...
And trust me Krek! You did Trep a favor! :)
I loved that bit about Alandra feeling grateful she didn't have to do any of the killing too.

Loot recovered for Devargos ship
Off the guards (one on top deck, two in devargos room)
3x Chain shirts
3x longswords
3x wooden shields (heavy)
6x daggers
around 35 gold total (some of its loose change).
Off Devargo himself
potion of cure moderate wounds
5x spider venom (DC 12, 1d4 Str/1d4 Str)
+1 leather armor
2x masterwork bladed gauntlets
masterwork hand crossbow with 20 bolts,
From Devargo's Room
jasper studded amulet
a gold necklace fitted with emeralds
a Platinum ring that bears a tiny jade dragonfly
Helvaras Chest
That's a summary of all the group loot I doled out while DM'ing. There was a guard we took out before entering Devargo's from teh brief description from TN before he had to take the leave of absence. I've included him above as well.
We haven't valued the gems we found, but we did value Devargo's gear.
Cheers

Just taking a strawpoll here. You've been picking up an awful lot of "strays" lately, which is great for a good party, but can become annoying to the players if they go unused, and if they are used... well, it tends to degenerate into the fantasy version of "The Brady Bunch".
I could just cut back on these NPCs, I could maintain that level (and giggle in anticipation of Seven Days), or I could try some middle road.
In addition, which of the "Strays" and other minor NPCs are most interesting to you?

Khaladon |

Thanks a bunch Wrath. Anyone have any interest in any of the loot? Zalen doesn't feel partial to anything is particular, he picked up the crossbow but is happy to give it to whoever may want it or sell it.
Terra, are you talking about like Zalen's kids and all o' that? If so, I do enjoy the occasional interlude with them in the breakaway thread but if it becomes too much extra writing for you I'm fine without them.
If you're referring to Majenko for example, I, for one, would love to keep the little fella around. He's cute, this mission was mainly To rescue him and he damn useful! ;-)

Valkyrie Paine |

Hehe, I was worried about making the NPC cast explode in size. Sorry about that! Ayedah really just intends to get those girls some help, not really to "adopt" them. But if that's a complication you would enjoy throwing at us... ;) It's just that she feels she has to do something, especially if she isn't going to be able to destroy that drug den.
But really I'm fine with whatever is easiest for you to run, Terra. :) The NPC cast is pretty huge already if you count everyone we've personally met and is still alive.
I'm probably most attatched to Zalen's children. I really want to see how things develop with them, especially Ayen. I imagine Ayedah as having really warmed to Pirisa as well. I'm interested in seeing where Trep goes too, even if Ayedah strongly dislikes him.
The other Pharasman priestesses and Gern's family are neat too. I can't imagine them not coming into play again and again.
Ayedah'll try to keep in touch with Maris when she can, mostly to make sure she's doing as well as she can after her friend's death. I'd like to try and make amends with Bren, but I can't think of anything in-character that could ever "make things right" between him and Ayedah. It's still something that troubles her.
And Majenko is awesome! I love the idea of having a tiny dragon hanging around with us.
I have no idea what to make of Halvarra at the moment. ;)

![]() |

I'm pretty easy as far as NPC's go Terra. I like what you did with Gern's family, but I'm just as happy to keep them in the background if they're lots of work.
As for the dragon, I did play him up a bit. Pseudodragons can communicate telpathically, but there's no hard and fast rule about them reading peoples minds (in terms of game mechanics at least). In the description it says they read the minds of those they seek to befriend though, so i kind of went with that.
Any way, I hope I haven't set him up as too powerful a minion TN. I like the little fella though.
Oh, and sorry about the toon mix up. I'm pretty tired at the moment so i'm making mistakes with my characters.
Cheers

Khaladon |

Hey wow, Val reminded me just how many NPC's we have 'picked' up along the way...and they All have their interesting aspects...I'd be sorry to see any of them go But again, I bow to your schedule and inclination Terra. I'm fine with whatever is good for you.
