Oh, missed the new posts here for some reason?
Anyway, I also am fine with doing Devargo in the main thread. Your idea is a real good one Val! Maybe we could even try and illicit some aid from the brothel and/or gambling den if we suggest a take down of the current boss and convince them that will mean the space for a new one (or for them to be their own bosses?) I'm pretty sure what's her name, the madam of the brothel would be willing to help or at least point us to others who might also wish Devargo taken down?
And Terra, so, should I go ahead and level up as a sorcerer then and just wait until the powers are active? I had more thought of it being in a battle type situation but if you've already got something planned no problem. And your idea at least sounds like it might have some better comedic possibilities?? ;-)
As for the loot, can you possibly give us a complete rundown of everything from this last adventure and it's value Terra so we can divide it easier?
And gang, I forget, did we already decide on how we were dividing loot? Are we just giving stuff to whoever can best use or wants it and selling dividing the rest? Or are you counting whatever items people get as part of their take? Either way is fine with me.
Oh, and last thing, Terra, do we know of somewhere we can get magic stuff identified (for cheap! =) Maybe you could set up/IC some kind of regular fence and/or magic identifier & supplier that could become a regular NPC or something? If that sounds like a good idea to everyone?

I really don't mind how we split loot, but here are some suggestions. I think cash needs to be split evenly, particularly things like the payment we just recieved. As for gear, I've always just gone with whoever needs it most. It tends to balance out, particulalry if you allow equal splitting of the gear. ie, if someone missed out last time, they get first preference next time etc.
We also do roll offs in our home game if more than one person wants an item. Saves on arguments as you can't argue a dice roll.
Since Gern has no real idea of how to fence stuff, he won't mind how we get rid of things. If TN is happy with the idea of a regular fence or someone to make our transactions with, I actually think the Hammerfold's might work somewhat in that direction. They would certainly have contacts. However that's completely up to the DM.
Cheers

Regarding Claws, Gold Ingots and similar things: I assumed you stash these in some safe location (Zellara's old home?) before getting to the next place. Remember that it is still deep at night, with literally noone on the streets. The prices were just FYI, you will not be able to actually sell anything before the next day.
Valkyrie Paine
Ayedah still has that spear too. She isn't particularly attatched to it, and was just holding onto it as part of our cover while we moved Verik around. I do need to look into getting a ranged weapon for her though.
And fencing through the Hammerfolds does sound nice!
If we try to get the brothel and gambling den on our side in order to pull a coup on Devargo, we're going to have to be really careful. If any of them are loyal enough to report that we've been asking suspicious questions to Devargo...and with him possibly knowing where we live, including the kids....
Khaladon
Oh ya, sorry TN, I had been thinking it was by now early morn, not dead of night. Stashing the stuff is fine and if you want to IC the selling that's cool. I vote for Wrath's idea to give items to whoever needs/wants them (but keep track of who got what so it's fair) and sell unwanted items and divide the rest of the loot evenly (So I guess it's up to you Krek if you want to keep the chain mail or we can sell it? As a fighter/cleric makes sense to me you keep it but your choice).
Would someone that remembers mind making a list of everything that we've got so far?
(Oh hey! Just remembered we had a side quest with that ring or something too, didn't we?)
As we all need sleep and are bloody and gory Gern's plan sounds wisest: to just head home and clean up first, then meet up at noon at the Hammerfeld's
And you are right about being careful Ayedah, Z certainly won't risk the kids safety...maybe just speak to the Madam then?
Valkyrie Paine
Yeah, I think we can trust her.
Oh, and hey Terra! ;)
About that other thread, do you mind if I've already gone through with my rites, or would it be best to have it put off. I kind of think she would be lacking in confidence if she hasn't gone through with them yet, and so far her skill in battle and survival in the wild is the only thing she's 100% confident in(social situations, not so much).
But if not having done them works better with whatever is planned for the future...
Khaladon
Hey Terra, I'm reposting this question as you may have missed it in my long post ;-)
And Terra, so, should I go ahead and level up as a sorcerer then and just wait until the powers are active? I had more thought of it being in a battle type situation but if you've already got something planned no problem. And your idea at least sounds like it might have some better comedic possibilities?? ;-)
GM TerraNova
Level up as sorcerer. I don't even know if you'll like my idea, so its in your hands completely.
Same goes for Ayedah: She can either be all grown up, or still a little wet behind the ears. I can tell you that the AP will actually involve Shanti later on, and not just in them raiding Korvosa. However, its still a ways off, and if our current progress is any indication, it's at least two years off.
I'll restart you when you meet for lunch.

Hey Terra, I'm a bit cofused sorry. Did Gern's family call everyone together for the lunch on purpose? We were goign to meet at the tavern intially. I'm just not sure how to post in response to your in game post is all. Sorry for being such a dummy atm, having long nights with my kids at the moment isn't helping my thought processes.

Seems like i managed to maximize confusion :( And all that just when I'm out of town for the weekend. Why don't you hash out this mess until I return? ;)
Seriously, though: I will be out of town until sunday, and will have sporadic (at best) net access. Feel free to meet up, discuss plans, and get as far as traveling to Eel's end.

No worries TN.
Since we're without a DM for a bit, and he's asked us to get to the planning, can I suggest we do a bit of narrative speed up and jump to the tavern quickly?
Escorting the two girls could porbably be takled in a single post since TN already hinted it was without trouble. And we can't identify items without the big guy here.
All those in favour say "AYE!" (with a strong dwarven accent please)
Cheers
Khaladon
Aye! Sounds good.
Why don't you Gern or you Ayedah handle the escorting business (heh heh) /post since it's mainly your guys thing?
We can continue ICing the Breakfast thing I guess but other than the potential trouble brewing with Ayen, I don't think it's that important to the main story (and should probably be handled in the Breakaway anyway?)
So, let's get on to some planning while we have the time. Me, I say we first approach the Madam-Halvara, (I Looked ;-) in the House of Clouds and let her in on our intentions. Maybe we could do some more scouting or info digging on Devargo's strength and how many we should be up against etc. As for attacking, MAYBE, as he seems to run a night-time operation, we should hit him in the day? Also, maybe we should let Kroft know what we're up to just so we have some'legal' back-up/support?
What think ye friends?
Oh, and as I guess no one else is volunteering to add up the loot, since I've been speaking about it the most I guess it's up to me...: P So, here's a list, please lemme know if I'm missing anything...
LOOT:
Gaedren Lamm’s Place:
Queen’s Broach-Special Returned
Zellara's Harrow Deck Party
Hannah's silver ring (150 gp) ?
wand magic missle (23 charges) -375 (prob) Zalen

adamantine arrowhead - ?
6 shoddy knives -6gp Sold
3 crossbows -51gp Sold
205 sp
200 cp
gold ingot (100 gp)
cigar case (25 gp) Sold
miniature gold crown (350 gp) Sold
kraken carving (200 gp) Sold
carving of two succubi (450 gp) Sold
holy symbol of Shelyn (300 gp) Sold
oil of keen edge -375gp Sold
vial of Silvesheen (1 dose) -250 Sold
Total Cash=2,234.5gp Divided
Devargo 1
100 PP Divided
All the World’s Meats:

SO, all we need to do is decide who's keeping what and what is being sold and I'll divvy up the cash.
Krek-Are you keeping the armor?
Ayedah-You said you're looking for a range weapon. Do you want the spear or bow & arrows?
Lemme know and we'll carry on. : )

Good Posting on the summary there Khaladon.
Gern will be against letting anyone know we're coming. His tactics are usally quite blunt and to the point, and most of them involve tactical advantage. He's going to suggest maybe a distraction, or attacking from the water if we can do it safely (unlikely). He definitely wants to make sure they don't know we're coming.
Having said that, I understand why you guys want to from a roll play perspective. So I'm easy as far as planning goes, even if Gern's gonna grumble about it.
Day time raids are fine with him, as the logic of it being a night operation so hit em when they're sleeping would appeal to him.
As for loot, if anyone can use a bow and magic arrows, I'd recommend we keep them. But most of us are close combat specialists I'm thinking. Gern certainly isn't going to use any "elf weapon".
I was thinking of chipping in what's left of my gold from the meatworks job so we could buy a healing wand. I gave part of it to my family though, so there's only 150gp left.
Finally, I'll do an escort post later today, and set things up so Gern and "the group" who helped are waiting at the tavern for the others to come.
Cheers
Valkyrie Paine
Yeah, I'll take the spear if no one else wants it. A heavier ranged weapon just feels right to me. :)
And checking with Cressida Kroft sounds like a great idea, just to make sure we can avoid trouble with the law when we do what we're planning to do. If we do this during the day, we're definitely going to draw attention.
Ayedah will excuse herself in a bit and head to Gern's to help with the escort too.
Khaladon
Leveled Up to 3rd (please check for errors)
You are very welcome all and thanks : )
And Here's the Deck:
Zellara and the Harrow Deck:The harrow deck (still inside the strongbox) is an intelligent magic item, coupled to the ghostly Zellara. She can use identify 3/day without needing further material components, and manifest as a major image 1/day. Every chapter, she can perform a harrow reading for you.
...I've added it to my PC sheet, feel free to do the same.
So Rimrock, we can use two of the uses to identify Alandra's dagger and the arrows if our rolls aren't good enough... : )
Are we still in the first chapter btw?
And as for the attack on Devargo, now that Z has some spells (check his sheet) up his sleeve we should be able to use them to our advantage. I'll have to figure exactly how I want to bring them in IC wise...but the ones I've chosen should give us several tactical advantages ;-)
Unless Krek weighs in on the other side, we seem to be slightly in favor of telling at least Kroft and Helvara of our plans. So, once's Terra's back, let's do that after we meet up at the Inn, before we actually attack, yes?
Krek
Just popping in briefly to add: Each chapter is one chapter of the AP (that is, Edge of Anarchy, Seven Days from the Grave, Escape from old Korvosa, A History of Ashes, Skeletons of Scarwall and finally Crown of Fangs)
Krek has no opposition to you telling her of the plans - in fact, he'd like it as opposed to not, though not for the same reasons you might.
The chain mail he would enjoy, but he won't ask for it (he will see it as a sign of weakness).
Valkyrie Paine
So we're going to have a new thread for each chapter then? I guess that makes it easier to search through past posts, after seeing how monstrous some of the PbP threads have gotten. :0
When we were in Devargo's cabin before, did we notice anything about the doors being able to be barred from the inside? If not, does anyone have any ideas on how we could keep those doors sealed shut once we get inside? Could a tanglefoot bag work?
And thanks for finding the stuff on the cards, Khal! I'm sticking the notes in my profile now.
Khaladon
We have a new thread??
And I was kinda waiting for Terra to respond to all of the posts we're made so far so he didn't get too bogged down with catching up...?
But if y'all want I should start posting my plans for Devargo as we chat in the Inn I can do that too...
Khaladon
Ok, well no problem Terra. But there was a bunch of unfinished stuff in the IC and here...About Ayen, your idea for Z's powers and...uh, other stuff I can't remember cuz I can't see the posts as I'm typing this ;-)
Oh, there was using the deck to the things identified...
EDIT: Oh and hey Terra, I hope it's ok as I haven't used any of them yet, but I changed two of my cantrips...

Ayen is earmarked for the next breakaway. MAybe one of the resident ladies can help breaking things to her gently?
The dagger is magical, but even Zellara's divinations are hazy and indistinct. The reading feature darker cards, with the dagger being connected to the blood of a princess spilled, enslaved spirits chained to gold... but they remain inconclusive as to the daggers actual powers.
The arrows are simple to place. They just carry a little bit of enchantment to aid in their flight, and pierce that much deeper. (+1 Bonus)
As for the plan: Well, with the girls out of town so safely and resoundingly, it has grown a lot harder to pull. The discussion Zalen started seems as good a way to introduce the powers as any, though.
Oh, and feel free to swap around any power you have not yet used (within reasonable limits, no swapping during combat, ...)
Valkyrie Paine
Khal, do you want to work out what exactly happened with your parents in the OOC thread or did you want to keep it secret for now? I was just a bit worried about contradicting your intended backstory by throwing out too many details about the Shoanti tribes.(though I guess Zalen's mother's tribe could have done things very differently from Ayedah's tribe...)
Ayen is earmarked for the next breakaway. MAybe one of the resident ladies can help breaking things to her gently?
I'll try to handle it unless Rimrock wants to. Ayedah's a little slow on the uptake in those areas though, so if someone could mention that there's a problem or if Ayen gives her or Alandra the cold shoulder again Ayedah will try to talk to her about it then.
As for the plan: Well, with the girls out of town so safely and resoundingly, it has grown a lot harder to pull.
Oops...sorry!
Khaladon
No worries Terra, take care of yourself and concentrate on getting better. We need our GM nice and healthy, body & mind ;-)
Ayedah, I don't see any problems with whatever you want to say. To be honest I'm still not really sure of Zalen's parent's past yet (maybe cuz he hasn't told me yet or because he himself doesn't yet know ;-) And, like you said, different tribes will have some different customs anyway. So please feel free to break out your creative inks = )
Ok So here's the final Loot tally. Since no one seems to want the bow, I guess we'll just sell it. We'd get more value out of keeping it obviously but we need the $$ for the wand of CLW so...voila.
All the World’s Meats:
masterwork chainmail -Krek (450gp)
masterwork spear -Ayedah (302gp)
mw comp longbow(+2 Str) -200gp Sold
20 magical arrows, -400gp Sold
magical silver dagger -Alandra (??gp)
6 crab legs ( 78gp) -Sold
1,000gp
Total Cash=1,678
Each Share=335.6gp
Wand of CLW costs 750gp so if we each pitch in 150gp should be no problem (and maybe we'll even get a discount from Alandra's temple ;-)
Gern's definitely up for the next item (as Zalen is gonna keep the wand, I'll IC it at some point) but if anyone is ever feeling loot distribution is getting uneven please speak up.
Wrath

Once again good work on the loot distribution Khaladon.
I updated it on my profile, sans the 150gp for my share in the wand (the three ingots of gold I have left). As for loot, I don't mind about eveness in distribution so much. If the next set of loot has nothing I can use, then obviously I won't take an item. It only really becomes important when multiple people can use an item or multiple items drop for the one type of player. No fear though, this is a relly reasonable group as far as i can tell so I don't see any trouble arising from loot distribution.
Cheers

I was thinking of trying my hand at DMing a PbP on the boards. Wanted to check interest with this group first as I think your all top grade players.
It'd be a bit of a free form game, where I offer a number of scenarios and you choose the job. The we just grow the world organically from there.
If you guys are interested let me know. Will be a couple of weeks before I really commit to it though.

Wrath: I find your ideas intriguing and wish to learn more. ;)
Seriously thought, do you have a bit of further information about the idea? Setting, mood, ...?
I'm actually thinking of blending aspects of Golarian and Eberron into a bit of a homebrew TN.
The city I start it in will basically be Magnimar, different name but that's what I'll be using. I'm going to flog the concept of the last war from Eberron, with the characters effectively being refugees from a falling nation. The threat of "the enemy" tends to be a background tension in the city constantly.
I'll use the pathfinder society as a guild in the world that you can join if you want, though there are plenty of freelance jobs as well. Effectively you can become guild sponsered trouble shooters or just mercenaries for hire. The last time I ran this type of campaign the guild and my adventuring group had a running rivalry going which was fairly fun.
On that note, about mood. I tend to write fairly dark plotlines but don't want that to put people off. I plan on using some of the hundreds of advenures I have from Dungeon Magazine and downloads to offer "jobs" of an appropriate level that you can choose to do. Some of them are available from the guilds, some from a general help wanted noticeboard, and others will just crop up through circumstance. Depending on how the group runs and what they're after will really determine how dark or lighthearted I make the campaign. My home group are all in their thirties and we all read David Gemmel, so we're into fairly dark and gritty. Not everyone is.
Once the games start running, you'll find things just happen. Charcters intereact with NPC's that cause later plotlines, decisions they make now have repercussions later, jobs they don't take lead to bigger trouble later - that kind of thing. I'm really interested in making the game as organic as possible with the PC's driving how they want their characters to move in the world.
Hope that's enough info :)
Also, while I'm psyched about trying this, I'm still just feeling out the idea. I have to start back at work in June and not sure how that's going to affect things. I'm hoping it'll only mean I have one or two slow weeks at marking time but we'll see. So, this thing won't get up unitl at least another two weeks.
I'll be uaing the Beta ruleset, converting to official when I get them. Also feats from PHB2 and the Complete - Divine, Arcane, Warrior, Adventrer books. Acess to spell and magic item compendium will be allowed as well, but we may have to tweak certain aspects of those to better fit the Pathfinder rules.
Cheers

Hey Krek-I asked this question of you a while ago here in the OOC but maybe you missed it? Just wondering, to you plan to run Krek as more of a warrior with no Clerical spells or Domain abilities (they Are pretty cool in Pathfinder) and etc? Just wondering as you don't list any Cleric abilities on your PC sheet and you've never used any. Of course it's your choice, but an extra caster and healer is never a bad thing ;-)
Wrath

Well assuming TN's interest is still Piqued, that gives me 4 possible players. I'll stop threadjacking TN's ooc now and create my own soon.
Rimrock - you don't need those other books, they're just allowable if anyone wants to use them. I'm also using the Pathfinder campaign book for whole lots of stuff so you can use anything from there as well, we'll just rewrite the flavour stuff to match the world.
Cheers and thanks for the interest.
Edit - my ooc threads up. Not sure how to link it yet. Will work that out later.
Edit 2 - OOC thread
Krek
Hey Krek-I asked this question of you a while ago here in the OOC but maybe you missed it? Just wondering, to you plan to run Krek as more of a warrior with no Clerical spells or Domain abilities (they Are pretty cool in Pathfinder) and etc? Just wondering as you don't list any Cleric abilities on your PC sheet and you've never used any. Of course it's your choice, but an extra caster and healer is never a bad thing ;-)
Yes, I check in on this thread from time to time. I'm more of a headline reader than anything else though as people use different names/avatars, so it's hard for me to know who's talking.
I admit I'm horrible at updating online lists - I am more of a pen and paper fellow. Some answers I can give:
Krek is a Cleric, not a warrior, though he will play more like a warrior in the beginning. The reason for this is he fears asking Gorum for help he feels he shouldn't need, so he will only do so in the most dire of situations. He prays devoutly every day to _prepare_ himself with the spells he may need, but he wants to use them very rarely. He's never used a non-heailng spell not in training thus far. That may change very soon. If Krek finds himself in more perilous situations or finds Gorum more benign with the lending of power in the situations Krek is in, he will ask for and use more.
Currently, Krek has not channeled positive or negative energy; not only would the need have to be great for him to do either (such as a comrade dying on the floor), he would have to be emotionally drawn to help (he must care much about said comrade).
I will do my best to update the information for him this weekend. We are third level now, yes?
Some questions I have:
We are still working under the beta rules, I presume?
Does anyone have access to in-depth information about the gods? The meager descriptions given in the beta text didn't give me much of a feel for how they relate to one another. I would have given Krek some Knowledge (Religion) ranks, but I feel I wouldn't be able to play it well enough without knowing myself. My most recent post in the IC thred could also have been different if there is some serious rift between Gorum and Pharasma, though I know not of one. Information on the gods' relations between themselves would also be much appreciated.
Valkyrie Paine
I don't think I'll be able to post a lot of the info on the gods*, but the Gods and Magic book is a very good read.
Just going from memory, Gorum is pretty much kept at arm's length by the other gods. None of them really trust him very much. The relationship between the gods gets pretty complicated though, more than just good vs. evil and law vs. chaos.
*I don't own any of the books except the free Beta, the AP player's guides for the APs, the Campaign Setting and the Gazetteer. One of my friends is the real PF book collector in our gaming group.
