Looking for a dragon hunt adventure

Alpha Playtest Feedback General Discussion

I am looking for an adventure where the PC's climb a mountain to kill a dragon. I have most of the Dungeons and can order any adventures that fit the bill. I am able to tailor enough of the adventure to fit, but I am just looking for a cool storyline/encounters on the way to kill a dragon.

Anyone know of any adventures that fit the bill?

PS - the adventure can be from any system.

Scarab Sages

"Old Embers Never Die" from Dungeon 100 is my personal favorite Dragon adventure. beyond that, I can't be much help. I havn't read the first 2 adventures (Dungeon 1 and Dungeon 17), but there must be a reason why Flame was so popular.

Sovereign Court

Paizo looks to be doing something like that but you'll have to wait a bit.

DragonScar Mountain.

If you are just looking for ideas (rather than written adventures), there was a story- i think it was in a Dragon magazine- whereby a dragon went about Poly'd as a rogue who'd join with adventuring bands.. who were going to kill the Dragon.

In so doing the Dragon would not only feast quite nicely but would be shown the holes in the lair defenses in the process. (and get abit of loot).

Variations on the theme?
Dragon written maps to its lair, showing a "secret door".

Charmed or dominated (or cowed into obedience) road-side inn keeps giving information or maps, etc.

Maybe well placed maps in goblin (or lizard man.. or.. well, you get hte idea) hoards showing paths to dragons and such.

PCs don't hunt dragons . . . dragons hunt PCs! ;)

Kentucky Fried Humans. :)

I really liked the recent Dragonfall adventure from the modules line. Running it right now in fact with some alpha rules.

The Dungeon adventure where they brought back Flame was rally good too. Can't help with the issue number at the moment.

Grand Lodge

OMG!

Dungeon #1.

The PCs go into a small mountain area to solve a mystery -- actually two mysteries -- neither too grandiose -- and come upon Flame's lair, the Flame. The most famous Red Dragon ever, hell, the most famous dragon ever -- bigger than Klauth or Lashonna. So big that he has been officially resurrected twice so that Players of different generations could face off against him -- the adventures in Dungeon 17 & 100 earlier mentioned.
