Welcome Saa. (Strange...I sence a presence iv'e not felt since...)
Ok a half elf bard would be good. Dont mind a few feats from other sources but nothing too unbalancing. Take a look at this background and modify as you see fit.
"Few of your elven parentage leave the confines
of the forest realm. You, however, have long been
drawn to humans, who live their short lives with a passion
that you feel the elves lack. You wish to travel
on to the legendary city of Bard’s Gate, there to learn
the songs of legend. Recently, while performing at the
Starving Stirge in Reme, you met an engaging human
named Otto. He told you of a strange amulet he possessed.
He did not know it’s history, though his veiled
comments made you believe there was an epic story
behind it. He told you he wished to unlock its secret
and asked you to travel with him. You agreed, believing
you might learn the tale of the amulet and thereafter
compose a song of its history."

Hi. I will hopefuly soon be starting a campaign based on Necromancer Games adventures. It will begin with Wizards Amulet and continue with Crucible of Freya, Tomb of Abysthor and also include visits to Bards Gate and eventually even Rappan Athuk.
I need between 4-6 players. No psionics. Idealy I would like players to play standard classes- i.e. nothing thats not in the players handbook. This just keeps things simpler on my part. I will also be tying a bit of back story into pcs (from the pre gens supplied by Necromancer).Campaign will be set in Necromancers campaign world so gods etc will be from there.
I just wanted to chime in and say this is exactly how I got back into D&D after a long hiatus during the 90's! I found a group of great guys and started with WA and CoF...You guys are going to have an absolute blast!

If I may, as a long-time PBP/PBeM GM, a battle map helps a great deal.
I'm fond of making them with Google Spreadsheets -- you can set it to publish updates to the sheet automatically, so there's no separate file-upload step. The GM needs a Google account, but the players just need a browser.
There are links to the ones for my games in this profile.

Thanks Pat. Will look at this but may just go for an abstract/ descriptive approach as this is how I run things in real world games.

Thanks Jester. Osiric seems fine. Once again, here is some background...Use as you see fit
The unwanted progeny from an orc
raid on your village in the frozen north, you were despised
by your father, who showed mercy on you at
your mother’s request by selling you into slavery
rather than killing you at birth. For the last ten years
you have served as a galley slave and rowed, chained
to an oar, on various ships as they sailed the length
and breadth of the known world. For all of your life as
a slave you suffered cruel beatings for being a halfbreed
and you learned to hate that part of yourself—
the part you feel is responsible for your miserable lot
in life. Yet, even as you learned to despise your orc
half, you found succor in the ramblings of a fellowslave, an old human priest of Thyr called Roald. It was Roald who gave you hope and it was a sad day indeed when he died of exhaustion. On your most recent voyage, the ship’s captain released you
from your chains and made you a member of the crew
after you aided the ship in repelling a pirate invasion.
At landfall in Reme, the captain made you a free man.
With but a few coins to your name, you sought out a pub
as far from the docks as possible—desiring to make a
new life for yourself. You made your way to the
Starving Stirge where you met Otto. Otto greeted
you as a friend. For the first time in your life a person
saw you not as a half-breed but as an equal. You
agreed at that moment to follow Otto anywhere.
You are fiercely loyal to him.

"They say it was a brutal winter the year I was born. The Orc raids were heavy and fierce. My mother gave birth to me that spring never having told my father that I was not his offspring, but one look at me and he knew. They never spoke of it, save for the looks he gave me. Others of the village though were not that nice. They spoke of how my mother was pregnant before me but that when the Orcs pillaged the town and raped her, she miscarried my fathers child and was ripe with me. My father blamed me whether this was true or not and on my 5th birthday he re-payed me for what he felt the cause of my birth.
For Years after I have sailed every part of this world. Though I suppose sail is a relative term when you are locked to the oars of a slave galley. Even as a young child they would beat me for who and what I was. An accident of birth, a lifetime of pain. There was only one person who even gave a damn about me and that was merely because I would listen to him. A fellow slave Roald, a one-time priest of Thyr. He is the one who taught me the meaning of hope, it was he that kept the other slaves from thinking constantly of their lot in life and then one day he was gone. Exhausted from the days labors when he rested that evening he was gone. The life and breath beaten out of him.
I finally became a member of the crew thanks to a timely use of the little knowledge I was able to gain from Roald. On a stormy night we were chased by a strange haunted ship. The captain was able to steer us out of harm way, or so we thought. Several zombie sailors from the other ship had climbed aboard during the chase and were moving the helm to face the storm and return us to the haunted ship. The heroic helmsmen, and I use the term loosely for he was a vile fiend very deserving of his horrific death, but he did well for his self during the chase, but was laying with his jar distended in a pool of his own blood at the feet of the Zombies. It was then that I took up the hand carved wooden holy symbol of Roalds and felt the power of Thyr flow through me. The Zombies fled and at that moment the Captain named me a free man. He wanted me to stay on with the crew but once we made port I took my meager share of coins and left as quickly as I could, to drink a toast to the only friend I ever new, as far from the docks as I could.
The bar was called the Starving Stirge and as far a I was concerned was as much a pit as the oar room, but the dry land under my feet was welcome. It was there that I met Otto, he greeted me as a friend almost immediately, and for the first time in my life someone had treated me as an equal. I have agreed to follow him where he needs and perhaps I shall find the life I am looking for along the way."

It would be great if eveyone else could post as their character and with an icon when they are posting in game. Just a thought. As soon as everyone has completed their pc and posted background, stats etc I will provide a few campaign notes specifically for their character. Then we can move boards and begin

Almost complete on paper. Just have to type everything up and work on his background and find his voice. Hopefully by nights end. Sorry again, my friends always joke that I spend waaaay too much time creating characters. To give you something though, here is his avatar.
Cheers

I am more than I little envious of this game.
The Crucible is an excellent adventure, and The Wizard's Amulet has some real "moments", plus Ironhard, you have Pat and Utak. Good Luck to you guys.
Cheers
P.S. I spent yesterday creating a knight cleric for this game, but..well I can draw parts of this from memory and unlike Utak, I have probably reached my limit.
P.P.S. Ironhard, have you been to any of the main conventions recently? I'd like to put a face to some of the Brits around the boards.

Hi French Wolf.
We now have the following
Dwarf Barbarian
Halfling Fighter(rogue)
Human Sorcerer
Human Paladin
Half Elf Bard
Half Orc Cleric.
I think I could squeeze one more character in if you want to join.
Have you experienced these adventures before by the way or do you know about them from hearsay.

I'm playing in six or seven games and running one (which pales next to Pat) but that is enough. Thank you for the offer but I'd rather just keep an eye on this one for the future, Ironhard.

OK. Can everyone post a confirmation of readiness on 'Necro Campaign' on the PBM board. When I have all six we will begin.
Still working on background, description, and personality. I am mostly following the background you gave me. Just fleshing it out a bit. All this is fluff though and mostly in my head, so I'll get a post going to introduce Alajos into the IC thread. By tomorrow, the fluff should be complete also. I tend to write War and Peace when I create backgrounds.
Just a suggestion, maybe create another thread in the Play-by-Post Discussion Forum for Out-of-Character discussion and table talk.
Cheers
