A Pathfinder RPG SRD would be an awesome addition to your website. Is this something in your plans?

If then. I don't see this as a good way to sell $50 Rulebooks. I can't blame them if they don't, they are a business.
That said I would also like an SRD just as an "at the table" reference. I GM out of my laptop a lot and keyword searches are faster then thumbing through a book. Which is why as soon as they post the cost for the final PDF I will definitely consider picking it up along side by preorder of the Final PRPG. If the price is right.

You know, I will get the PDF for laptop game action, more for when I am at work and have a little time to tinker around. But I will get the hardcopy, even if it seems a little steep. First, thie "almost" anime kind grows on you, but dang I live the artwork I find with Pathfinder. And, most of all, I want to support Paizo. I really want Pathfinder to be a huge success.
An SRD would be awful cool.

Agreed. Still I wouldn't be surprised to see them do it. They're a very customer-centric bunch of folks. There has to be some advertising value in having it out there.
I'd like to have it online just to be able to link to rules in pbp. They've made the sale on the $50 from my point of view. Probably a couple of times over as my players see the bright shiny book.

Well, there is a PDF SRD, called the Alpha 3 right now. The biggest problem is the rules are in flux. So building an SRD now is not a good idea.
AS for selling books and all, they have declared their rules are OGL. So there will eventually be an SRD, I imagine... I'm sure Paizo will come up with a schedule that meets their business model to sell books...

I'd like an online SRD so that I can copy and paste relevant bits to my GM cheat sheets for combats. I find the hypertext D20 SRD to be one the single most useful resources for preparing for sessions, far more useful than pdfs (which don't do the cut and paste thing as well as html docs). It'd be really great to see that for Pathfinder. Since its OGL, it's likely we'll see it whether Paizo wants it or not, but it'd be nice to see Paizo support the existence of such a thing.
Since I'm already going to buy the hardcover, I can't honestly say an online SRD would make me more likely to buy the hardcover, but if I weren't committed it would sway me. WOTC's decision to make the 4E SRD a list of page refs. was one of the first thing that turned me off the system.

No SRD right away. I want Paizo to sell copies of the book. You can copy and paste easily from the PDF if you need it.

They did this because it's not an open system for 3rd parties to use to create their own roleplaying games. That's what happened with 3E and that was bad business. They wanted the 3E OGL to allow companies to make products for D&D. Instead, they got a lot of crap and THEN good products start coming out, but they didn't need or support D&D.

I believe the intention is that Paizo will only charge money for the physical book. PFRPG PDFs are going to be freely downloadable at all times. I know this doesn't answer the question about the SRD but it will definitely help searching specific rules if you or your GM play with a laptop in the table.

I believe this is the case for the alpha and Beta rules, but it was never stated that this would be the case for the finished product...

Uhm, no. I really don't think so. All their other PDFs aren't free unless you're a subscriber (except the spiffy player's guides)
But I think there will be a PFRPG SRD.

I don't have anything to say regarding an electronic SRD at this time—it hasn't been discussed yet (although I *can* guarantee that we won't be doing *anything* like that with the Pathfinder RPG rules before they're actually finalized). But I would like to clear up some stuff regarding the PDF.
The Pathfinder RPG Beta PDF will be free, but we will be charging for the finished PDF. As with most of our PDFs, the price will be about 30% off cover price.
While most of our subscriptions do include free PDFs of the corresponding products as a benefit, the Pathfinder RPG is not included in any existing subscription, so that concept doesn't apply here. That said, we'll probably come up with ways that some groups of people will be able to get a free PDF with their purchase of the print edition, but keep in mind that we're talking about something that's happening in August 2009, so it'll probably be the better part of a year before we firm up anything to that end.
