Lots of discussion on several threads about what the skills list should look like. My question is if you could make one change and only one change to the Alpha2 skills list, what would it be and why?
(Seriously though, just one. We all have lots of ideas but I'd like to see which of your many is the most important to you.)

For me, I think it would have to be pulling Search (Int) back out of Perception. It's the whole actively looking versus passively noticing thing.

Hm. I like that idea.

I would take out Perception completely and break it back down into Listen, Search, and Spot. I know many people in real life whose ability to notice something via seeing and hearing are completely different, and not just because of being vision- or hearing-impaired.

I'm pretty happy with the skill list. However, I would love to see this change implemented
I don't have high hopes though.

Roll Concentration out of Spellcraft, and fold Autohypnosis into concentration.
As to the People notice things differently, a feat allowing a sensory bonus would take care of that.
Me: Wis 8 no ranks in Perception, +8 racial bonus to notice asian women :D
Hah! You're pathetic -- I get +15 racial bonus on *that*! ;)

I'd change skill so that the ability modifier is based on the usage, not the base skill. This means that some heavily complimentary skills, like Bluff and Sense motive could be recombined. And Perception(Searching) could use int. Concentration could go back to Con based, even if it stays within Spellcraft (which DOES manage to make sense. It's just that its not simply 'concentration' anymore. It's your ability to successfully complete the spell despite adversity).
