Sinister Adventures is pleased to announce two new DARK HORIZONS products available now for Preorder.
Dark Horizons #1: Cold Black
The Known Universe Gazetteer
Cold Black is a 60+ page mega-adventure set half in the cold reaches of space where a derelict hulk lost for an age returns from the distant void, and half on a frozen prison planet where an alien menace and escaped homicidal maniacs reign over an icy wasteland.
The Known Universe Gazetteer is an all new campaign setting for gritty space adventure with a dash of alien horror thrown in. In the Known Universe, the age of grandiose galactic empire is long past. The august civilizations of yester-century are sundered, their gloried technological achievements lost. Now spacers, pirates, and warlords fight over the ashes with a few systems burgeoning on interstellar conquest. The galaxy has gone to seed, and it is a time for brave heroes, or desperate scoundrels to claim the black as their own.
Come get you some Space Madness

Nick, these products for Dark Horizon look rather interesting to me. I'm afraid I don't know much about your Sinister Adventures product line. Exactly what game is it for and can you give me a brief rundown of the concept of the game? What time era are we talking about here? What is the universe like? Is it something super powered or highly oriented towards space and the future? I ask because I thought perhaps they may be workable adventures or sources of information for my Legion of Super-Heroes RPG that I'm making for myself. Could you give me some basic information please?
The Legion you may have heard of (don't know), it is a DC super hero group in the 30th century. Do you have any other products I should be looking at that may serve my creative thought process?

The adventures will be compatible with multiple systems. Right now you can preorder the OGL Future compatible ones (D20 Future), but there will also be True 20 versions, as well as versions adapted for Bulldogs! and Dawning Star among other systems and settings. As we get new versions you get em for free (once you've bought one version you get em all as pdfs).

Looks interesting. Figure we will learn more when you do a few indulgences for it. I am of course making a big ass-u-mption here that you will do such.
I'm hoping to do at least a couple for it! I have to see if I can fit them in the schedule though (it's filling up quick!). :-)

"Oh no! Its a monster!"
"What if I throw my medallion at it?"
"You're always throwing your medallion at monsters! It never works!"

The reference to 'OGL Future' rather than 'D20 Future' intrigues me.
Is D20 Modern included in the SRD? (Can't check, as I'm at work...Bad Snorter!).
What about the supplements (D20 Future, D20 Past, etc)?
I've not heard of Bulldogs or Dawning Star. Who publishes these, and what type of system are they?

Galileo Games publishes Bulldogs, and Blue Devil Games publishes Dawning Star.
Bulldogs! is a sleek game, with some interesting stuff going on. Scuttlebut is they are revamping their whole system soon giving it a 3.75 treatment...can't wait to see that.

A starship design / floorplan!
A write up of a planet / star system / stellar phenonum!
An “away party” or ship-board encounter!
Write up of a stellar faction / nation / cult / planetary government etc!
Details of the captain and crew of the trader Star Razor!

Alien cultures, religious organizations (in space!), plot hooks fleshed out with sample encounters, new weapons, short adventures detailing different areas of the cosmos, basically things that will deeply immerse me in the setting.

Ha! Most of those things are offered up in plentiful supply by the Gaz. Originally it was going to be the "Indulgence" but the writers kept creating such awesome stuff that it grew into a huge project. I didn't want to cut it off.
Still! I think I can serve up some Indulgences hot!
Thanks for the suggestions Eyebite! You Rule!

Ha! Whoa! Your above post was invisible to me earlier, but now your brilliant powers of Indulgence are revealed!!! :-)
Awesome ideas Mothy! My brain now foments with potential INDULGENCE!!!

Nice! Actually, I'm probably spilling way too many beans way too early, but there is a Strong possibility of a Vista/Horizon tie in with Dark Vista #4. More news to come...I promise!

Actually Eyebite, considering the above, you may wish to keep your eyes out for the next Dark Challenge as well. Awww yeah! Horizons gets some contest love very soon!

Korgoth |

Yes! As soon as I think, "hey, what if I set a campagain in space?", you guys come out with this lovable little bundle of vacum, lasers, and alien disembowelment! And since the one I'm running should wrap up by augest as half our group goes to collage, its perfect timing too! (well, maybe not for them...)

*Is a slave to the challenges*
Will do.
And for the record....I think the Star Razor mentioned by Mothy is a fantastic idea. Might even be piloted by descendants of Bethany - whose family has been involved in piracy for a looooong time.
:D

Awesome Korgoth! Glad to oblige! Get you some vacuum!

Voice 2: No! That is a whitish-pinkish woman with green makeup!
Voice 3: You think us fools, that we will have our eyes schlurped by a non-green woman in disguise and not notice!
Many Voices: We will shake our fists and mutter ominously until you recognize our menace!

It's fantastic that you're using Dawning Star, Nick... I picked a copy of it up at CanCon this year and it was amazing, I couldn't believe I'd never heard of it.
Note: I have already pre-ordered my own copy of Dark Horizons, so you can tell how much I'm looking forward to your wacky space goodness (or should that be badness?!?).
