Starting Gold?

I'm starting a playtest campaign, and my astute players have pointed out that there is no indication of starting gold allowances for new characters in the Alpha release...nor is there mention of it in the SRD. Is everyone simply using the starting gold from the Player's Handbook, or is there another reference out there that I've missed?
