This may have been done here before in the past, but I'm doing it again. I know we had a "post your recipes" thread, but I'm specifically looking for mixed drink recipes here! Whether it's common or exotic, local or worldwide, show it off here and maybe you'll find something you like!

"Apple Dynamite"

4 oz. apple juice
2 oz. Bacardi 151 Rum

Ignite. Serve. Enjoy.

I don't really know of any that I like, but I know of one you should NOT try. Do not mix Dr. Thunder and Red Tornado. Some kind of a reaction occurs, and it never stops fizzing. It ends up like one of those baking soda and vinegar volcanoes you made when you were a kid.

Prairie Fire
Shot glass
Tequila
Hot sauce

Coat the bottom of the shot glass with hot sauce. Pour in tequila. Drop some more hot sauce in.

This is not a sipping drink. Slam that bad boy!

Irish Car Bomb
Pint o' Guinness
Shot glass full of Bailey's Irish Cream

Drop the shot glass into the pint.

Liz's Favoritest Mudslide Evar
Blender
French vanilla bean ice cream
Milk
Bailey's Irish Cream (the caramel and mint varieties are nice)
Kahlua (or other coffee liqueur)
Chocolate syrup (or chocolate liqueuer)
Mint sprigs

Put ice cream into blender. Add the rest as you see fit, thin out with milk, garnish with mint.

Tequila Coke

shot glass
highball glass (Or a normal one, whatevs)
tequila
cola

Pour two shots into the bottom of the highball glass, top with cola. Garnish with a maraschino cherry, if you like. You can also substitute cherry cola for a fruitier taste.

I usually have more than two shots in my versions of this drink at home, but the recipe is closer to what I get at my favorite pub every Friday. Tasty. :D

Paizo Employee Director of Sales

Cosmo's Jaeger Bomb, or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Just Love the Drunken Shenanigans of College.

  • One fifth of Jaegermeister
  • Six pack of Rockstar (cheaper than Red Bull)
  • Tumbler glass

Pour some Jaeger into the glass. Top it off with Rockstar. Drink it. Repeat until the Jaeger is gone.

Uglies!, or What do you when the only beer you have is crap?

  • One - Three (depending on taste) 40 oz bottles of Old English, or similar skanky, cheap beer you find yourself having to drink for whatever reason
  • One bottle of Tomato Juice
  • One (full) salt shaker
  • Tumbler glass

Fill tumbler 3/4 full with beer (hold your nose if necessary). Carefully pour tomato juice down the inside of the glass until glass is full. The tomato juice should settle to the bottom (this is kinda important, especially with the really crappy beers). Place a small quantity of salt into the palm of your hand. In conjunction with the others who also have to suffer through the crappy beer, quickly slam the salt into the beer and then drink the entire tumbler in one go. Power through the initial shock of the beer hitting your tongue and you will be rewarded with tasty, tasty, salted red beer. Repeat until the beer is gone or someone finally goes to the store for decent beer.

WARNING: You will want to perform these maneuvers around a kitchen table or sink, or other suitable easy-to-clean area, as the need to carefully pour the tomato juice becomes successively more difficult as the evening progresses.

Readers are warned NOT to try either of these recipes.

    couple spoonfuls of frozen limeade
    rum

Mix in your own preferred proportions. :)

    Getting Arrested in San Francisco

2 gills of a dark beer
    ~ 2 gills of Bacardi 151 Rum

    repeat

    Liberty's Edge

Whiskey and Cola. Simple and classic.

    Blushin' Russian

    One shot of Kahlua
    One shot of cherry vodka

Mix with milk and ice in a small glass, watch the Big Lebowski and say dude a lot.

Lilz, it appears that you and I have similar tastes in drinks. At least, Bailey's, Guinness, and Kahlua are frequent guests in my home. And I appreciate good vanilla as well.

So now I'm curious about the Irish car bomb. When you say "drop the shot glass into the pint" do you mean pour it in, drop it in upright, or is this one of those drinks where the shot glass sits upside-down on the bottom of the pint glass, slowly adding its contents to the beer?

Or does it matter? (after the first few, I'm sure it doesn't anymore)

    LUNCHBOX

Warning: In order to fully enjoy a Lunchbox you must be capable of downing a beer without stopping.

    Fill glass with Beer.
Take a good drink, leaving glass 3/4ths full.
Pour in Orange Juice, but leave a little room at top.
    Fill shot glass with Amaretto
Drop shot glass in beer stein and DOWN IT!

It is a delicious and quick way to get drunk! Win Win!

    ;)

Ok, this is very important for doing a carbomb becuase if it's not done right, the drink with curdle and be disgusting.

You take the shot of Baileys and drop it upright in the glass, the entire thing, and then chug the drink. Wait to long or mix it or anything and the cream in the Bailey's curdles. Not tasty.

Mmmmm Guinness. The corrected directions would say "drop the shot into the pint, and bottoms up." :0)

    My buddies love:

    Soco and Lime

Almost fill shot glass with Southern Comfort.
    Top off with lime juice.

A freshly squeezed lime works best. Due to the amount we drink, we order it by the shaker. (Though personally, I prefer to stick with a steady stream of Guinness.)

(American) Frat boys I've seen drinking Irish Car Bombs in English pubs drop the shot into the pint creating a splash. Splash = bomb going off.

Similar to La Bombas (Las Bombas?) using Corona and Cuervo.

Rambling Scribe, Yeux answered the question pretty succinctly. Drop the whole shot glass, then slam it. Curdling bad.

And yes. I do prefer Irish Cream/Coffee/Kahlua/Chocolate liqueurs. They make me happy. Tuaca is nice as well. Tuaca AND Kahlua is darn tasty.

The Godiva White Chocolate Liqueur is heaven. It makes a very happy Lilith.

Thanks for the clarification everyone! Hmm... I've never thought of Guinness as a chugging drink. I'll have to save that for a heavy drinking night. Maybe at Origins.

    Liberty's Edge

I wouldn't consider Guinness a chugging beer either. It might be me, but theres a distinct difference between downing a car bomb and chugging a beer. ;-) Then again on the right night I can drink Guinness like water. *shrug*
