I know the question about having a Pathfinder Wiki was asked before. Well I thought it was a neat idea and being unsure if anyone acted on it yet, I started one today. Anyway, I will be working on it more as I get the chance. I don't have much posted yet, and if you want to get involved in the project let me know.
Also, I would like to know what you think, what needs to be added? What features, articles, or the like would you like to see? Hope to hear from you all, Paizo employees included.
Peace.
Link to the site if you want to see what little I have so far: Heroes of Golarion.

Perhaps we will be able to include the Bleeding Edge Adventure Series by Green Ronin?
As far as I know, the Necromancer Games adventures are not part of Golarion.

In fact someone had acted on it. Maybe the two sites can be complementary, or something.

While I love the idea of a Wiki, and have mentioned it both to James and Jason a few times I must stress the aspect of copyright and theft. It hurts me to know that there will be a place online where anyone can go to get information and take it without having paid Paizo for their hard work. However, if the folks at Paizo (Ex: Lisa) state that this is okay, then I'm all for helping out on making the wiki the best it can be.
I know for my home use I've been compiling all the information into a binder, much like a campaign setting book.
So Paizo what is the "legal" outtake on Wiki's like this? What information can be publically submitted, and what cannot. I recall a while back the entire chapter on Sandpoint being published in a message board, and that being a big NO NO.

It is. The OGL statement in the front of each Pathfinder tells you what content you can and cannot use (please check the most recent Pathfinder you have, as we've updated that text a few times). Copying big chunks of text from the books and using our images and maps is not ok.
Creating your own *original* maps based on encounters in Pathfinder is just fine, but you can't include the encounter text.

Thanks Vic. While I love the idea of a wiki, I think I'll keep my hands off on building and working for legal reasons. But that doesn't mean I am telling those who want to work on such a project that they shouldn't, or to run away. By all means go for it, I just ask you respect Paizo and the legal process. Good luck.

I agree with Kevin, something I want to stay away from for legal reasons.
However, I think it is a brilliant idea. I think Vic, who obviously has a tremendous amount of free time on his hands, and needs something to do, should make an official wiki for Golarion. He could probably have it ready in a few hours for us even.
All kidding aside I do think it would be a brilliant idea for Paizo to develop some sort of official site for Golarion.

I will be deleting the maps and images that were copied from the blog and other sources. As the are copy-righted material. And will begin quality checking the articles.
I also urge that you all help me with this, as yes it is quite an undertaking. But the site can also be used for more than just tracking the goings on of Golarion, but you could also use it to track you parties adventures, new NPCs, and help keep a broader continuity in Golarion.

Heh Don't we all. I do believe linking the map from the Paizo blog is all within legal aspects as you are only giving a direction to where it can be found, and nost hosting it.
I think a Wiki will be great for storing people's encounters in Golarion, a place they can talk about their adventures. As well put up their PCs, homemade NPCS, changes, new encounters, etc. For homebrew stuff set in the world by all means go for it. All that is legal.
It is just when you start putting up descriptions from the books online that you begin to cross the line of copyright laws. There is a lot you can do with a wiki about the campaign. Good luck with it, trust me when I say I'll be looking in on it to see how it goes.

This discussion reminds me of why I was so careful about the maps I created.
After Chapter One, I worked with another subscriber (who is experienced working with graphic imaging professionally) to print the Chapter Two Maps straight from the PDF with no resolution loss or Room Tags. I received requests for copies of those maps, but declined. Looks like I was correct to do so.
