Creed of Kord |

Sorry. Bad weekend for posting. I'll catch up and post momentarily.
EDIT: As for position, I'm having a hard time picturing where everything is. If I'm reading this right, we're about 40 feet from a corner. The light is coming from around the corner and so are the aforementioned crunching sounds. Rod is on the right in shadows, so is the light up around the corner to the right or the left? Scardd is in the middle of the street, and Tuon has fallen back (I'm assuming also in the middle of the street). If I am on the left and Bri is behind me, the light (and the corner) is across the street from me up ahead, correct? What is on my side of the street? I'm fine being across from Rod on the other (left) side of the street.

DM Dreamweaver |

Right sorry. The street you are on is thirty feet wide and relatively clean of debris. There is a stack of crates to your left which Roderick is behind, a passed out drunk fifty feet behind you, some shallow doorways to shops and a lot of dirt. All the shops in this area are closed for the night and only a couple second story windows show signs of life with the occasional flicker of candle light. The purple light is coming from an ally way to your right about forty feet in front of you.

Initiative order
Creature: 15+
Skidd: 15-
Bri: 14
Tuon: 8+
Creed: 8-
Scardd: 5
Roderick: 4
Tuon is standing his ground in the middle of the street, Scardd is five feet in front and to the left of him. Skidd is behind and to the left of Scardd. Roderick is fifteen feet to the left of Skidd behind some crates and Creed and Bri are hugging the store front on the opposite side of the street.
The light starts to grow and a large dog-like creature covered in purple flames steps around the corner. The purple flames lick up it's body making it shimmer in the dark street.
Spellcraft DC 21
The creature scans the street and with a snarl the creature charges toward Scardd and with it's head down lunges at the half-orc.
Scradd gets a AoO and has to decide if he wants to avoid the overrun or not. If not make a Str or Dex check DC 14.

Bri Leagallow |

Spellcraft 22. YES!!!!! Thank you so much, Invisible Castle! Thank you thank you!!!
"Faerie Fire." Skidd breathes. "Druid magic."
"What! What do you mean Skidd? Anybody know how to fight this thing? Druid magic is not my forte so to speak" Bri says as she brings her sword up and keeps close to Creed.

Spellcraft Check (Roll 5+3=8)
Scardd watches the light get bigger until a flame covered dog moves around the corner and charges. Knowing that Tuon is right behind him, the Half-Orc is unwilling to give his ground. Tuon has been kind and generous since they met, and now Scardd feels he can start repaying his debt. “He vill take my life over yourzzzzz,” Scardd snarls, talking over his shoulder to Tuon. The Half-Orc readies his spear and stabs when he feels the time is right, attempting to kill the creature and block him from getting to Tuon. As he stabs, Scardd feels that pent up energy inside him force its way down his arms and through the tip of his spear.
AoO Spear Attack w/ Hideous Blow Invocation (Roll 12+4=16), Damage (Roll 2+4+4=10), Strength Check (Roll 20+3=23)

Skiddifig Hahdrik |

...Ow. Glad I'm not a flaming dog.
"Faerie Fire.", he repeats. "I don't know much about it, save that it's druid magic." He's holding something back, but just then Scarrd gets attacked by the demon hound. He is surprised to see Scarrd cast some sort of spell on his spear, and sees him strike a mighty blow. Strange... He thinks.
Assuming "Spot" here is still alive...
Knowing that his more powerful magic won't be much use used directly against the creature, he chooses a more effective tactic. He runs to Tuon and says,
"The hound of hell I see before me,
The demonic creature wreathed in fire,
Must be destroyed by helping he
Who's bold to face creatures dire
And by the pinch of iron here,
Hear me now! The hound is near!"
Casting Enlarge Person on Tuon.

"The hound of hell I see before me,
The demonic creature wreathed in fire,
Must be destroyed by helping he
Who's bold to face creatures dire
And by the pinch of iron here,
Hear me now! The hound is near!"
Very impressive.
The creature lets out a yelp and falls backwards after slamming into the determined half-orc. As the it stands the fire blinks out leaving behind a large wolf.
Spot DC 15
Bri is up

Bri Leagallow |

Spot check: 18+5=23 Attack: 12+2=14 Damage if needed: 3
Bri stands in amazement as Scardd attacks the wolf like creature. "Way to go Scardd!" Bri says as she watches the animal fall. "Oh crap that can't be good that it seems to have healed itself already. Lets try this!" Bri takes her sword and aims for the wolfs neck. I have this vision of Bri being eaten by this creature as I type this!

Fair Tuon Clawed |

Tuon is almost frozen by the scene and the wolf.
"Roderick!" he croaks.
Self-preservation takes over and Tuon lifts one arm tracing a large oval before himself. A hum grows from nowhere into a sound loud as a shout, that spreads out across the street and beyond the alley. The air before Tuon shimmers with strange life.
Tuon grasps his longsword firmly and looks around at his brother and the new found friends. He circles the alpha, moving a little to help set up a flank. As he moves the solid air stays between the wolf and the warrior.
Standard action followed by move 15 feet around to the side opposite Bri. Go Scarrd!

\-*^/ |

Scardd watches the wound close up and lets out a growl. "I vill juzzzt put another hole in zu, Dog Breath," the Half-Orc snarls as he stabs with his spear again allowing more of his eldritch might to flow through the spear.
Spear Attack w/ Hideous Blow Invocation (Roll 18+4=22), Damage (Roll 4+4+5=13)
Roderick's turn

DM Dreamweaver |

Roderick watches as his friends work to surround the wolf. He grabs an arrow and launches it at the creature but the arrow flys high and disappears into the shadows.
Attack 3+5 = 8
The wolf turns as Tuon circles and then darts forward biting at him but the wolf slams into something a few feet from Tuon.
Wolf take 5' step and attack Tuon
Skidd is up

Skiddifig Hahdrik |

Skidd runs to Creed, and (assuming nothing utterly prevents him from doing so), points to the tattooed man and cries,
"As I helped Tuon before,
The help we need is yet more,
With help from powdered iron and lore,
By all my power, let us slay this horror!"
Casting Enlarge Person on Creed.

Fair Tuon Clawed |

Just to mention, Enlarge Person is a 1 round action to cast, it does not effect us until just before Skidd's next turn. Oh, and you get a Strength bonus that nullifies the attack penalty from size.
Spoilered to reduce space.
Level: Sor/Wiz 1, Strength 1
Components: V, S, M
Casting Time: 1 round
Range: Close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)
Target: One humanoid creature
Duration: 1 min./level (D)
Saving Throw: Fortitude negates
Spell Resistance: Yes
This spell causes instant growth of a humanoid creature, doubling its height and multiplying its weight by 8. This increase changes the creature’s size category to the next larger one. The target gains a +2 size bonus to Strength, a -2 size penalty to Dexterity (to a minimum of 1), and a -1 penalty on attack rolls and AC due to its increased size.
A humanoid creature whose size increases to Large has a space of 10 feet and a natural reach of 10 feet. This spell does not change the target’s speed.
If insufficient room is available for the desired growth, the creature attains the maximum possible size and may make a Strength check (using its increased Strength) to burst any enclosures in the process. If it fails, it is constrained without harm by the materials enclosing it— the spell cannot be used to crush a creature by increasing its size.
All equipment worn or carried by a creature is similarly enlarged by the spell. Melee and projectile weapons affected by this spell deal more damage. Other magical properties are not affected by this spell. Any enlarged item that leaves an enlarged creature’s possession (including a projectile or thrown weapon) instantly returns to its normal size. This means that thrown weapons deal their normal damage, and projectiles deal damage based on the size of the weapon that fired them. Magical properties of enlarged items are not increased by this spell.

** spoiler omitted **
So let me get this straight (sorry if I'm being thick): Creed's strength goes up to 20, so his STR mod. goes from +4 to +5. His BAB is +1, but he gets a -1 penalty to attack from being large, so he's at +5 attack/+5 dmg. Divine Favor, brings him to +6 att./+6 dmg. Becuase he's using a two-handed weapon he gets a +9 dmg bonus, so with the greatsword he's a +6 to att./+9 damage. The greatsword is enlarged so it goes from 2d6 dmg. to 3d6. So I guess I was wrong above. Creed's Greatsword is +6 attack; 3d6+9 damage. Did I get that right. Again, sorry if I'm being dense. I just want to get it right.
EDIT: Wait, wait, wait. I did that wrong. The order of operations is wrong. BAB and Enlarge equals +5 attack, +5 damage. The damage bonus is then multiplied for a two-handed weapon which brings Creed to +5 attack, +7 damage (rounded down from 7.5). Then add the +1 luck bonus for Divine favor, and Creed is at +6 attack, +8 damage. I was right before. But...someone please confirm.

Creed of Kord |

I know Tuon's gotta go, but I probably won't be able to post later.
Creed, now at thirteen feet tall, laughs as he steps forward to attack the flaming dog-thing. "HAW!!" He booms. "Well, I'll be a Hill Giant!" He swings with his greatsword in a broad arc.

DM Dreamweaver |

Looks like the new attack and damages are correct.
Bri lunges forward and stabs the wolf in the back of the neck, sinking the sword in to the hilt. The wolf turns toward his attacker, pulling the sword from his neck and nearly knocking the small halfling off her feet. Already you can see the wound start to close.
Tuon is up

Fair Tuon Clawed |

Dreamweaver spoiler
"A spell that takes 1 round to cast is a full-round action. It comes into effect just before the beginning of your turn in the round after you began casting the spell. You then act normally after the spell is completed."
Creed isn't a giant yet if we are following the rules... but like I said its your call on this spell. We have just seen how confusing it is.

DM Dreamweaver |

Tuons now large sword opens a vicious wound on the wolf's side and this time even thought the wound closes over half way blood keeps running. Scardd's spear also opens a large hole and this also doesn't completely heal.
The wolf circles and snaps at his attackers and makes a lunge at Bri, his smallest harasser, closes his jaws on her arm.
Attack 18+5 = 23
Damage 1+3 = 4
The wolf charges at her trying to break from the circle.
Overrun DC 13 if Bri wants to stand her ground. Bri also gets an AoO.

Bri Leagallow |

Our DM didn't bother to tell me that I was up!
Bri watches as the wolf gets up and starts to run away. Bri grabs the nearest rock and throws it towards the wolf yelling "Take the you stupid mutt" (this makes her feel better about not doing anything to the beast) "Well are we going after it or not?" Bri says to the group as she looks around at each of them also assessing any damage any of them have taken.

\-*^/ |

I am guessing that we can post out of Initiative, sorry if I am incorrect.
Scardd watches the wolf make haste in its retreat, “We vill never catch it. Bezidezzz, I do not know vhy, but I feel zhat thiizzz wazzz zome zort of tezzzzt. My guezzz iizz that Talon hazzz zomezing to do with thiizz. Vy could be wrong, though. I zay we continue to our dezztination. Iifff it wazzz a tezzt, we pazzzed.” Scardd looks down at Bri, then up at his now towering companions, waiting for their thoughts.
