Terin grabs the other body and hauls it behind Tyndal toward our possible body dump. Terin yanks out the broad bladed knife and tosses it, hilt first towards it's owner. "Nice shot."
"Uh, thanks..." mumbles Seann as he tries to catch the dagger, failing miserably. He reaches down, picks up the dagger, sheathes it, and moves over to where Terin and Ardan are attempting to open the door.
G'mork |
The party drags the lifeless rogues out of the hallway and around the corner, mopping up what blood they can as they go using the scoundrels own clothing. Eldin “helpfully” lightens the load as they haul away the bodies, locating two rapiers, a hand crossbow (5 bolts), 10 gold pieces, two suits of leather armor, and two potion vials: one a soothing shade of blue, the other a dramatic violet.
Listening at the door, Ardan hears narry a church mouse, and pronounces the room unoccupied with reasonable certainty. His arms are less well built than his ears, however, and he thrashes about at the portal impotently before pausing, out of breath.
Terin "The Beast" Talonshift |
"Somebody give me a hand with this door already!"
Can we get a confirm/deny on my listen assumption before we go too far?
Sorry, Sally, I got a body hoisted on my shoulder over here. Try again but try putting some 'Man' into it.
Hee-hee!Seann Eoghan |
Seann makes sure he is first to lay hands on the potions.
"Now, what have we here?"
He places the bottles on the floor, touching each in turn with his left hand, while making an arcane gesture with his right.
Casts Identify on the potions
G'mork |
"Is it locked?"
The door does not appear to be locked.
Seann receives a strong impulse from the cerulean potion, and easily identifies it as a curative remedy for light injuries (CLW), but receives no sensations whatsoever from the violet concoction.
Obviously smarting at the aspersions cast upon his manliness, Ardan takes a short running step and kicks the door open with both feet. The jamb opens with a loud sucking “POP,” and the door quivers like a tuning fork as Ardan lands lightly in front of the doorway.
The interior of the room is a bit drier than the preceding tunnel, and the air here is fresher. The room is a lounge of some sort, complete with low table and an overstuffed couch with a garish orange on brown scheme. Other than the doorway you currently occupy, there is only one other potential exit to this room; a single closed door, present at the opposite end of this 10 by 15 foot room.
Tyndal Maelglum |
"How about we dump these here? Let's take those ratshooters, they're worth good money."
Tyndal puts the corpse on the ground. He looks to see if maybe the corpses can be stuffed behind the couch, thinking about dead hookers and mattresses.
"Ok, which way Pinky?" Tyndal looks at Terin.

*mentally to my eye* Visiting guests like Vanthus? Or does he have a place he stays when here? What is the purple potion, Penkus? ***
Out loud---That room is a guest chamber, I doubt the bodies will be disturbed too soon, especially behind that couch that was stolen from some Spice seller in the Merchant District.....
Keep wondering how I get that info, although I added the couch info just to be smarmy, Arden!
Seann Eoghan |
As if on cue, Seann gestures to Terin. Holding up the blue potion, he gives it a little shake.
"This one's a healing potion." The mage holds up the other phial.
"And, I would bet money that this 'un's poison of some sort, but I can't tell for sure."

map
Bringin' over the map. I can't figure it out either, I see a bunch of water with a square in it that looks like it could be the well entryway but we descended in the Taxidermist's shop.....I dunno, maybe we are in the cutoff area. There is a cutoff room that looks natural with part of a 'c' in a square like the water room...that could be our starting room. Maybe...
**Penkus is there an answer from you that could answer our questions as to where we are on the map or where we should head and what to expect there?**

Well, since he's not going to drink it, the purple stuff is Urchin Venom. I still say it would have been fun to watch him heave his guts like a landlubber on their first ocean voyage.
Vanthus was sleeping in that back room for a time (shifting your gaze to D13), but he's likely moved on by now; sleeping in my quarters, no doubt, the devil spawned bilge rat humping swamp donkey buggerer.
If we go back the way we were headed, the room to the south is rum storage...
Terin "The Beast" Talonshift |
"Lets check the guest room, just to make sure Vanthus didn't leave all his loot in there." Tyndal smiles.
Thank you for the headsup on where we were, I was so confused. Retcon is cool with me.
me too. Sally stays topside..;P.
Yes, Vanthus probably stayed in these rooms, but I think he may be in Penkus' rooms. Mind that vial, it's Urchin Venom. Anyone want some Rum? *where is your old rooms Penkus?*Eldin Farstrider |

Question: Does anyone have an issue with a minor retcon of Anders staying topside to watch the shop entrance for more thieves while the party descends?
Makes sense.
G'mork |
Thanks for the leeway.
The party moves away from the guest quarters, leaving the thugs behind them to rot quietly. Following the long hallway west past where they originally entered, they find the tunnel branches left to rum storage and right towards the barracks, before rejoining into a single path farther down.

I had assumed this meant south of D2... sounds like it's more heading towards the SW corner of the map? Either way, I think we're following Terin/Pinky's directions unless interrupted.
G'mork |
Please disregard the previous instruction set then. :)
The party moves away from the guest quarters, leaving the thugs behind them to rot quietly. Attempting to travel both quick and quiet, they retrace their steps down the hall and through the guardroom, past the unworked tunnel entrance. The southbound passageway turns to the right sharply, and traveling down it roughly thirty feet brings you to a short bend in the passage.
Around the bend and directly ahead is a fair-sized mess (refectory), with what looks to be a large wire-mesh dome at the very far end of the room. To your right is the open door of a well-kept lavatory, and to your left is an almost-closed doorway, through the crack of which spills the sounds of men perhaps wrestling, and a light tinkling of bells, followed by a sharp crack of willow on flesh.

"Gentlemen, this is an extremely bad idea. But, to quote the Bard of Greyhawk, 'I am for you, sirs'."
Seann unbuttons his belt pouch and, cracking his knuckles, traces the newly healed ridge of indigo scarring that runs from nose to hairline.
He hums to himself, oddly at peace. Strange.
