Stats for Iggwilv? :D

Dungeon Magazine General Discussion

So, Dungeon 148's editorial hints that we'll get to see stats for Iggwilv prior to the magazine ending, which is quite exciting!

James: what hints/teasers/etc. can you drop before the article appears, and do you know which issue it'll be in?

Allan.

Iggwilv will be statted up in issue #149. She's also gonna be on its cover, on its last page, and somewhere in the middle. She's all over that issue, as a matter of fact.

Some teasers:

CR 30
Casts Epic level spells
Number of artifacts carried: 2
Number of epic magic items carried (not counting artifacts): 2
Number of times per day she can use limited wish as a quickened spell-like ability: 2
Number of unfortunate typos that slipped by editorial: 1 (she's got more hit points than she should have, but I'm kinda okay with that)

Liberty's Edge

I wonder if I bought my wife a fur, would she agree to be the Iggie to my Grazzie?

Ooh, fun. -7 to a save, thanks!

Should go with a coat made from the flensed skin of a celestial paragon. I think Abercrombie sells these...

Wayne's doing the cover to #150. The cover to #149 (with Iggwilv on it) was done by James Ryman... and yes. It's awesome.

Ah, Ryman of the infamous Spider Eaters-American Beauty cover...and the awesome AoW Mind Flayer cover, too.

The very same.

Don't forget the super cool cleric from #131!

CR 30 -- wow!

I wonder if she'd be interested in a Commoner 1/Expert 3 -- (that'd be me) :P

Ooh, a threesome!!!

Though I'll still take 143 over 131 :)

Sounds great! Are those artifacts new, or from some other Greyhawk source?

Furthermore, I hope to see more a bit about what she has been up to in the decades (centuries?) since she was last seen, and what her plans are for the future. Now that she has real stats it would be a crime not to use her beyond that one adventure. Oerth, get ready for the second coming of Iggwilv!

Her artifacts are new. There's not much at all about her history, and a little bit more about her current and future plans (those'll be expanded on more in issue #150).

How many pages are we looking at in the final issue? Think you said that it would be 10 pages for the index, we have the final Savage Tide battle, and the updated adventure with Bargle the Infamous, on top of this. Hopefully a final adventure also. It'll add up, surely...

The last issue of Dungeon will have an extra 32 pages. There's a LOT of stuff in there...

Great teasers, James, thanks! :D

Allan.

I don't supose that she's been reunited with her cloak, the Fiend's Embrace, from issue #121, has she?

Sounds great. I hope you've been creative with her feats, spells and whatnot, this is Iggwilv after all (I apologize for nagging about her, but she is my favourite Greyhawk character), she can't be just another wizard (I'm not really worried about that though...). Let's just say I was severely disappointed with Mordenkainens iteration in the Epic Level Handbook (a legendary level 27 wizard with only 21 intelligence?!), it was like he was placed there only as an afterthought. Iggwilv must not suffer the same fate...

No. She's got a MUCH more powerful cloak now. One that looks a lot like Fiend's Embrace, but that she made/discovered herself. That it looks like Fiend's Embrace is her way of saying "Hah hah, Graz'zt... THIS Is how you make a magic cloak! Nice try though, sweetie!"

Fiend's Embrace is way too underpowered for the real Iggwilv. BUT, while it doesn't appear in Dungeon #149, it DOES appear in another adventure that isn't quite released into the Public yet... but will be in a few months...

Would that cloak be one of her two artifacts?

In a few months? So it will appear in one of the Pathfinder or GameMastery adventures?

Yes, it would indeed be one of her two artifacts.

Iggwilv is the property of Wizards of the Coast, as is Fiend's Embrace, so they won't be appearing in Pathfinder or GameMastery products. However, Pathfinder and GameMastery products are not the only RPG products I'm involved with...

I'm going to guess Expedition to the ruins of Castle Greyhawk...
