So, it's nice to know that, in such a place, there is a vibrant PFLAG organization looking out for the welfare of our (the city's) children. I've just joined it and am looking forward to helping out.

Cool! Welcome to the Springs!

I trust you have visited some of our FLGSs. Castle games and Gamer haven are 2 of my favorites. Have you found any gaming groups yet?

Thank you for the welcome, BT. I recently found a group. I've not been to Castle games, but Gamer Haven is a really great place. The guy who runs it seems very knowledgeable about gaming and seems to be a genuinely great guy.

I wonder how many relationships have ended over Monopoly?

Good to hear you found a group!

I like both stores, but I love how Castle keeps all of their Reaper and Warlord figures organized by catalog number on separate hooks. When you know what you want you can find it instantly without having to dig through the entire miniature inventory. I really appreciate that kind of attention to detail and professionalism.

I hope you enjoy it here.

May I ask what brought you here? Did you get stationed here?

Let me know if you want to grab a beer sometime.

I saw Toy Story 3 on the weekend. That's a Good Thing; no, a Great Thing. ... and it proves monkeys are evil. :p

  • My daughter has returned from her sojourn at the hospital, if not perfectly healed, then on the mend.
  • I have many caring friends, both real and virtual, who were very generous with their kind thoughts during my difficult Thanksgiving
  • I am looking towards 2011 with more hope than I was 2010
  • I have the intestinal fortitude to ignore the trollish soapbox screeders and post this, even if it is in the OTD (wasteland) section of Paizo
  • I found a LGS, that, although infested with Warhammer, Magic and 4E, gives me hope that there are SOME gamers in my area.

Thank you to those who sent their well wishes my way, it is always appreciated.

My 6 year old son and our time together and my lovely wife (who does not get my addiction to this game)but is always there for me.

I accepted a job offer - I'm a civilian.

As far as a beer goes, I'm always open to that.

I found out yesterday that my mother was informed by her specialist that he thinks she will not survive the next 12 months. However, we spent yesterday afternoon together with my 2 year old son and it turned out to be a bright and cheery time in spite of the bad news!

I am an uncle for the second time! Erin Lilly Watson was born at 1 o'clock this morning, several weeks premature. Mother and baby are doing fine. Hopefully the big, goofy grin won't be too off-putting at work.

Grats!

I became an uncle for the second time 18 months ago. It's great to watch them grow up. Just glad I don't have any of my own yet. :-p

Are you telling us that Zombie Ed McMahon came to your house with a giant check? Or just that you're enjoying significant savings off the cover price on a new Popular Mechanics subscription?

I just found a perfect, complete copy of the 2nd Edition Planescape Planes of Conflict for $15 at Half-Price Books.

I might donate it to the auction at Gamicon next month.

Indeed, second planned one. They absolutely rock. Right up until you have to empty the birthing pool at 5am and -2C. :)

Indeed. Jack arrived rapidly, at home and premature, the day before the pool was to be delivered. The midwife arrived expecting to take us to hospital (not allowed to do prem. births at home) and decided my wife would only end up giving birth in the ambulance if they tried to move her.

We were actually at the hospital when the pool arrived the next day. The company just got it shipped back to themselves at no cost to us as they had never had that happen in all the years that they had been trading.

Nice! I'm glad he arrived all ok.

If it makes you feel better, this one was born after maybe 10 minutes in the pool. Not allowed in until mid-wife Ok'd it. Midwife arrived at 1:05am. Baby arrived at 1:26am, she couldn't get the gas and air rigged up quick enough!

I think I'll remember the look on her face when my partner said "oh, there's a head" for the rest of my life!

Same pool as we used for child #2 though, it saw more use that time.

I actually felt the need to text her mum after eating inferior LM, to let her know how disappointing an experience it was. I really like it...
