Watching the news I heard this press-stopper: Studies show that teens are not as mature or smart as they think they are. Thank you, Dr. Science.

This just in; cats meow.

Liberty's Edge

Damn, and they got government grants to find that s#$$ out, too.

Teenagers are smartasses. Whoda thunkit?

Hey, when are you going to CHECK YOUR FREAKIN' E-MAIL?

ok; here is one off the wall; anyone taken Cialis; that drug to help male libido? Man, the warnings on that stuff is bit scarey; things like; may loose sight in one or both eyes; blood pressure may raise or lower; sheesh. Well, I havent taken one yet, but as my antidepressants raise my spirits; they ahem, tend to lower other things ;> or so my doctor told me....

You should have bought it a coffee.

Dark Archive

A nasty Starbucks coffee would have taught that cat not to be following anyone ever again.

Ummm......TMI. Eyesight...my dad always told me that I would go blind doing that anyway.....

What made the grapefruit so damned special as to warrant it's own utensil? Why don't more people just peel and eat them? I don't see any orange spoons or tangerine spoons or kumquat spoons.

I want fruitgrapes to feed my oxymoron cow.

While I eat grapenuts.

Ya think the first box of Grapenuts was just a box of dried grapeseeds? Then someone from corporate took a look and said, "Alright, we gotta do something about this. Someone put some sell-out granola in those boxes and ship the suckers out."

Liberty's Edge

Actually, the California Raisins started out as the Grape Castrati, and...well...corporate types and primitive hunter/gatherers are noted for using ALL parts of the animal.

...And we can say that, because it's cable.

Technically, Cable isn't from the future, he was just raised there. Sorry to be nitpicky, but I'm an old school comic geek from waaaaaaaay back. Hell, I'm pretty sure I've been collecting comics longer than some of the posters around here have been alive.

Aberzombie wrote:

This is true...but I'm pretty sure ol' Nate would consider himself from the future. I still like Mr Sinister, but alas, I stopped reading the X-Men years ago. :(

Same here, although sometimes I'm tempted to go back. Wolverine and Colossus were always my two favorite X-dudes, while Storm was always my favorite X-chick.

In fact, these days, I only collect two regular Marvel Comics titles: Ghost Rider and Moon Knight. I also collected the Dark Tower series they put out and eagerly await the next one.

For me these days, however, DC has all my favorites.

Liberty's Edge

Valegrim wrote:

Because he teamed up with Deadpool, and Deadpool is AWESOME.

ANyway, the only comics I read on a regular basis are the Punisher War Journals (though the quality has dropped now that Olivetti has stopped doing the art), Hellboy (do I even have to explain), and the Drizzt graphic novels. (God knows why, I must be a masochist. On that same subject, BY ALL MEANS DO NOT READ THE NEW SALVATORE BOOKS! EVER! DON'T ASK QUESTIONS!)

Meh. I'm a Dark Horse guy. Well, by default. Of the Marvel comics, I like Punisher, and DC doesn't really hold my interest. However, Dark Horse has Conan, Hellboy, the Firefly one-shot, and Star Wars.

There's also JtHM/Squee!/I Feel Sick and Swerve from Slave Labor Graphics, as well as Paizo's own Downer, and a ridiculously good French comic book called Wake.

Anyway, that's my two coppers.

Personally, I'm not a big comics guy. I've only recently gotten into the things, and I prefer the more psychological/mythological stuff (Jhonnen Vasquez's works and Hellboy mostly, plus DMZ which is cool) to the "Biff" "Bam" "Pow" types. Xmen and others are cool enough, but not for me to spend the money needed to follow the storylines they have all tangled up by now.

This is the best episode of the Henry Rollins show.

It features my two musical icons having a conversation: Henry Rollins and Brian Warner. These are two of the most intelligent celebrities that I know of, and I really dig what they preach.

hehe I dig Henry Rollings in the Deff Jam Fight for NY game; hehe he is the personal trainer :)

Cool. He was good in Johnny Mnemonic, too.

He was also good in the audiobook of World War Z as the mercenary.

I liked Hank back in the early to mid 90's when he first started writing, but not too long into that whole thing, after a few less than spectacular spoken word shows and getting to know folks who worked with him in the Black Flag days, he started to give me gas. I have a "Pissing in the Gene Pool" T-shirt from back then and would gladly send it to you if you want. My email is in my profile.

Sweet. I'll email you my info later so you can send it to me via snail mail.

I'm researching the 08 election candidates and I found out that there's a Prohibition Party.
This may not be news to some people but it came as something of a surprise to me. I didn't even know that there was a Prohibition Party, much less one that had a Presidential candidate. What makes them think the Prohibition work any better now than it did in the 20's? Who's going to vote for a party who's whole shtick is making alcoholic beverages illegal? There are somewhat more important issues out there, IMO.

so my supposed girlfriend who hasnt wanted to do anything much the last 20 days and who has been acting standoffish and wierd tells me today that we are not together anymore and I should see other people about an hour ago; now i dont know if this is a test or true or what; but the wierd thing is that I just got asked out on a date by someone I just met about 10 minutes ago and they dont know each other or anything; but man, is my life wierd.

Remember what happened last time these guys got a man in office. A guy, name of Warren Gamaliel Harding? Yeah. I thought so.

The president gets caught doing some coed in a White House closet, and meanwhile, friendly neighborhood distributors like Alphonse Capone are making everything shiny and happy.

Good motherf!#%ing times. But what happened afterwards just makes me all depressed...
