Yes Doodlebug! That Jailbreak clip came on "Friday Night Videos" a million years ago and wow-ed a young drunken nomad...you remember that NBC show?
I do not, but others have told me about it. I think I'm a little too young and grew up in New Hampshire. It takes a while for things like cable and the internet to get up here. I think the first time that I became aware of being able to watch music on tv was when MTV got to us around about the same time as Nirvana.
AC/DC rule, of course. How many albums have they put out now?
And, while I'm here:
and

One of my all-time favorite songs from one of the all-time best under appreciated Brit punks that is, all at once, one of the all-time best sci-fi songs and one of the greatest fake endings in all of recorded rock'n'roll-dom:
The Rezillos--"Destination Venus"
Keep coming through on the radi-o!

The UK Subs's The Singles 1978-1982 is one of the records in my listen to pile, which is why I did that, but, The Zombies are one of my favorite bands and it seems wrong not to link the real deal.

Plants and Animals - The End of That
Hmm. That's rather pleasant.
Also, Zylphryx, I always forget the name of my favorite Throwing Muses song. It was sung by Tanya, and I think it was a green album...hmmm....ooh! it's got a video!
In the meantime, Non-Alignment Pact, the song, the legend.

Please help an aging ex-hipster out: what is Homestuck? Because my teenaged internet friend is always going on about it, but I don't understand. Is it a band? A label? A website? WTF?!?
EDIT: Uh, oh, I've seen that MS Paint Adventure page before.
Yeah, it's a webcomic with occasional animated segments set to music.

Henry had a show on IFC a couple years ago. I never was on the same schedule as him (and didnt have a DVR) so I only caught a few episodes. Amazing interview skills.
I saw him a couple months ago on a 'spoken word' tour and he came out at 8oclock and talked amileaminute for TWO HOURS AND FORTY FIVE MINUTES with no water sips, no breaks, just talk! CAPTIVATING. It had no structure--with stories of Black Flag, his travels, politics, just whatever crosses his mind--but I didnt even notice how much time had passed until it was over. There he talked about a show that was in production where he was a host on National Geographic channel. He goes to places and looks into the impact humans have on animals and vice versa. He follows some ratcatchers in their daily life, and some of the seriously fundamentalist snakehandlers.

Hallowed be Thy Name ~ Iron Maiden
So, the second time I took Junior English in high school, the teacher gave us some contest where we had to write an X-word story (I don't remember the number).
I didn't win, but the kid who did didn't want to read it in front of the class, so, I volunteered. So, I get the page and start reading:
"I'm waiting in my cold cell, when the bell begins to chime..."
I looked up, kept my cool, and finished reading it. Afterwards, I walked over to give the kid his paper and was all like, "So, you like Maiden, huh?"
Hee hee!
I didn't tell, because a) I don't rat; and b) I used to turn in Smoking Popes and Screeching Weasel songs for poetry assignments in Creative Writing class. School sucks!
