Perfect! Mrs Gersen and I have been making fun of this one for the past month.

I wish I had never found this website:
Emerson, Lake and Palmer: Do They Suck?
New African Psych Blues from Tinariwen
A Louvin Brothers tune I extracted from an article about nuclear energy and evangelical Christianity
Public Enemy’s ‘It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back’ Deconstructed
I mean, srly, how am I supposed to keep up with the news and politrolling if I have to spend all my time following Dangerous Minds. I haven't even got to that 2-hour Gil Scott-Heron documentary!

Wrong John Silver |

Here's my Pandora station.
It was originally designed to be music for a post-apocalyptic steampunk world. Wild Wild West meets Gamma World and redirected through Beyond Victoriana.
Playing "Immaculate Crucifixion" by Juno Reactor right now.

Why
(Just found it today. I actually really like the sound of Living Illusion. Haven't sorted through all their songs, yet, and don't know (most of) the lyrics, but that music is niiiiiiice.)

Doodlebug Anklebiter |

I was looking for the whole performance back when I posted Sandy performing "The North Star Grassmen and the Ravens" and I'm linking it now so I won't forget to watch it when I get home from work.

Tacticslion |

After reviewing more of their work (and listening more carefully... and less so in a number of cases) I've discovered that Living Illusion uses a lot of curse words.
So, you know, pursue at your own risk.

Ive been to 2 of their shows and they ALWAYS kill it! There are TOO MANY to list of my favorites...but one time they did a 'history of music' suite in the middle of the show and this cover of Paranoid flattened the room. Later they ended with a cover of Ace of Spades with the singer from Nashville Pussy on half the vocals. Rev started the song and from the back bar Blaine (the mono-train??) came barreling to the stage and made it just in time for his part on the second verse. I think he ran off during the guitar solo and puked and got back in time for the last bit! It was intense.
RIP Snorty Horse Saloon. Redneck methy trashy bar has gone on to hell.

My contribution to Funk For Fridays this week is:
Allah Akbar by Ofo the Black Company
Where are the atheist funk records, eh? >:-(
Been trying to get back into garage, too, which is how I found Nobody But Me by the Human Beinz. At some point, I'll find out how to do all those dances. The results will *not* be pretty.
Let's forget that for a moment and contemplate The Beau Brummels, who are wonderful.

From the comments for the "Paranoid" link:
"At the end of a show I asked the drummer (he was wearing a Thin Lizzy shirt) who his favourite rockabilly artists were. He said rockabilly bores him.....guess here's the proof."
Hee hee!
