The Black Goblin loved this and made me look up more, and thus, I present:

I Need Your Clothes, Your Boots and Your Motorcycle

So, I was making tapes for my car and I pulled out my Mahalia Jackson two-disc set, so, for the foreseeable future I've decided to forego the Monday Morning Jazz Brunches and instead offer up

Sunday Songs of Praise!!!

It probably won't last long.

More Mahalia
Sister Rosetta Thorpe
The Mighty Hannibal
The Mighty Hank
Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego

Brigitte Fontaine

I liked the eight-minute second audio track the best.

An EP (mini LP?) by Moon Wiring Club which is freaking me out a bit, to be honest.

A 3-CD collection of early 60s British rock called Mad Mods and Englishmen.

At 59 SKr (about $9 US) the title alone was enough to pick it up.

Noel Coward

Charles Bradley, an awesome modern R&B Soul singer. Currently listening to his version of Black Sabbath's "Changes". The horn section blows me away.

Couple Kinks tracks:

Destroyer

and some AM Gold to start off 2014:

Point Blank - Nicole

Sugarloaf - Dont Call Us We'll Call You

Albert Hammond - It Never Rains in California

Randy Meisner - Hearts on Fire

Dillard and Clark - Through the Morning, Through the Night

and I watched some Laverne and Shirleys at my family get together and found this funny little Christmas song

New (I think) Red Fang video, this one about fighting the zombies who have come to drink our beer.

Right now Rammstein since I'm working on a Rammstein compilation for friend of mine.

Went to the area "alternative record shop" chainstore to use up some yuletide gift certificates and they didn't have any of the cds I wanted!

I was able to pick up some DVDs and comic books, happily, but I was left wandering the store feeling unfulfilled when I stumbled across a 2 disc set with the tag "Pre-revolution psychedelic rock from Iran!" and I was, like, woah!, I've got to get that!

For some reason, I thought it was a comp, but it turns out to be just one artist: Kourosh Yaghmaei and it's not quite as rockin' as I'd've hoped, but on first listen it's pretty righteous!

Lulu and the Luvvers - Shout

And a song by the opening act during one of her Scottish tours.

The Black Sabbath reunion album, "13". I'm pleasantly surprised by it, having given up on Ozzy Osbourne as a yelping village idiot years ago. The music and lyrics really call to mind Sabbath's early, formative years, at least to me.

This Dangerous Minds site has been putting up tons of articles lately about such assorted phenomena as urinating in below freezing weather, Henry Rollins action figures, David Hockney and Lenny Bruce. Here is Satchmo on Johnny Cash's show.

Here's an indie song about David Hockney.

And here's a documentary about Koerner, Ray and Glover, sixties Minnesota folkies who didn't get quite as big as Bob Dylan, alas. I've been listening to one of their live albums from the nineties, One Foot in the Groove.

'S pretty good.

o and that Dangerous Minds led to K Hole pics...I went thru 6 pages of those vintage pictures before work yesterday. Great place to waste time :)

And, as a special treat, The Fugs on Swedish TV

After six or so months, I dug The Fugs First Album (alas, not on vinyl) out of the crates.

Particular favorite: the trilingual Nothing

Not from the same album, but: Tuli running around downtown NYC bothering with an assault rifle, bothering bankers and Black Panthers alike.

I thought that was rather pleasant but it was rather wasted on me until I looked up the original and now I am in love.

Yay Tuli! And I realise, watching that, that I bear a certain resemblance to the Master.

But at the moment, what I'm asking myself is:

Where have all the good times gone?

Talking about the good times...

Good times!

Main listening this week, however, has been the second Agitation Free album
