I suppose it's cause I tend to read a whole thread to get the feel for it, before going back and picking out individual posts that especially inspired/amused/annoyed me, and writing a whole freakin' essay that, as often as not, gets eaten when I time out.
Once I start, it's like bursting a dam; it just spurts out of me in a torrent (!).

Luckily I'm in a small firm with a (relatively) low flow and low expectations. I think my wife and kids would disown me at 2000+.

Those are some pretty good numbers.... Aahhhhh... You're a better man than I am. 1500-1700 is about my range right now.
Blech. That's why I didn't move to So Cal or S.F. to work for a large firm.
My minimum is 1800 - 150 a month is our target number. It's a bigger firm in a smaller town, so the pay isn't great comparatively speaking....but I rarely work past 6:30 p.m. and I hardly ever have to work weekends.
