That 4,451 is a lower bound because there are posters who do not use avitars. Hmm… how can I estimate their numbers… Ah! I can take a random sample of 100 threads and count up the number of posts which do not use avitars divided by the total number of posts in those 100 threads. (I’ll save that for later.)
I am sure there are many people who signed up for an account and never posted, but they will have to remain “The Uncountable.”
(I have always considered 'the uncountables' to be a type of demon -- guess you know why I hang out at paizo...)

Seems like I am always posting; guess I really read more than post considering the length of time I have been on these boards. My Account doesnt really say when you joined though I know it is about a year and a half though I read the forums without participating, ie lurking, for about three months first. Also, I almost never post in the Dragon, Dungeon; Age of Worms, Shackles and whatnot threads so that would keep my limit down; if we start doing play by post it will probably rocket.
Word count would e cool or maybe character count; sheesh I feel like sometimes I write a novella in some of the gming and game idea threads.

Originally it took me a while to get here to non-topic boards and I guess very few one-time posters and semi-lurkers post here, when they post something...so only the more active ones are the ones who would respond to this mail.
From what I have seen, most posters do have an avatar so that 4451 registered people should be close to correct number. Would be interesting however to see a breakdown of the number, to see how many people have posted at least one message, at least ten messages, at least fifty messages...
