Not nearly enough braids and feats, let alone background history and lore for this race... would love to see more

I think that the number of races with the shapechanger race subclass thingy need to be increased; there are several in history, but not very many in the monster manuals; some good; nuetral and evil ones with histories and of various powerlevel would be nice. I also agree their arnt many feats and things for them either; but as they are not a prime mover in the game usually, they really dont need any as there are already feats for faster shift; more veristile shift; more forms; stuff like that.

Eberron Races, had Alot of informations on Shifters, I was impressed with the amount of info they had.

Wandering is right, they did add quite a bit of good material but its NEVER enough (my cleric is half Daelkyr of course.. and they sure could use some lubbins and dragonmarks!)

There will NEVER be new dragonmarks. It would ruin the setting as not even a horde of epic Elminster and Drizzt clones could.

Also, Races of Eberron sucked, a lot. Pretty much the only good part was the kalashtar section written by Keith Baker. I'm not saying other people can't write good Eberron material, mind you; I'm just saying it's not whoever came up with that Vulkoor drivel. "Ack! We made the drow too minor and different from the FR ones! Let's give them more material than the much more important goblinoids and shoehorn an arachnid deity in!"

As for the topic at hand, much as I like shifters, they don't really need more fluff. Their elegance lies partly in their simplicity. More shifter feats would be nice, though, but not ones dependant on anything introduced in RoE.

Well, as a matter of good form; if your going to say something sucks; you are obligated to give a few specifics for why or you just look like a goof. I do not care for Eberron much myself; but, to be polite, please say why something sucks rather than just meaningless namecalling. Thanks.

I actually dug RoE alot, but I hear what you are saying about Vulkoor...however!...In Secrets of Xen'drik they expand on the drow a lot lot more and offer up some cool alternate Vulkoors and alternate beliefs for the Drow (I think I remember stuff like this in that book).

I agree with the thread topic tons...Shifters are sooooooo cool, and they need more love.

If only Dragon were going to offer monthly articles on Eberron.

If only someone posting to this thread had a solid history of writing Eberron articles for Dragon.

If only someone else posting to this thread had control over Eberron content in Dragon.

If only...

"What if" Nicolas Logue and Mike McArtor combined their talents and presented an article aimed at shifters? And then they fought crime?

That's what I was aiming for. ;)

Thats not a very nice thing to say, to date you are the only person I have found who thinks Races Sucked, I think it was very informative, and our group uses it largely, also Nanyea wasn't saying we needed MORE dragonmarked, just some loving for the current ones, which I would all but agree to I really need more info for my Dragon Marked Heir. ^_^

Well being a writer myself and interested more so in seeing something about half Daelkyr I'd be more then happy to do an article or two on the subject... if *cough* someone ever gets to my already outstanding Queries!

Heh. Good on ya, Nick!

I was more goggling on the monthly Eberron content though (which I had forgotten was coming), and the fact that you're apparently the "goto guy" for it. Queries away! ^_^

Mike has been kind enough to let me write a couple (I think I have one in 352)! I'm working on a few more now, and one is all about the Shifter-Love!!!

Is the Dragonmarked hardcover sourcebook out yet? I think it gets released this month or last month.

Dark Archive

quite a bit of quality material in the dragonmark book and some interesting prestige classes, but not nearly enough information linking dragon shards, dragon marks, and magic items
