Bumping this thread hopefully.

Well, its official. Their BAAAD. They just got back from Krakens Cove and reported to Rowyn. (I had her send them to track down Vanthus). After telling her about what happened, she asked them to plant evidence that Lavinnia planned the the assassination of the Harbormaster and loot her house. Not only did they agree, they started coming up with suggestions.

I'm going to let them pretend they are not evil for awhile before I take the blinders off.

They are firmly committed in framing the entire Vanderboren family for all of the current troubles in Sasserine.

Actually, I'm relieved. They seem to really like Rowyn and have no problem screwing over Lavinnia. Now all I have to do is insert Rowyn anywhere Lavinnia would have been placed and the adventure will run fine, if a bit more evil.

Ah yeah our party is much the same, they actually want a crack at the adventuring band that they encountered that works for Lavina, (gee I wanted them to seem brash but not to the point of all the PC's taking offense) the party healer, a assasmir who is N, decided that she couldn't praticipate in such a thing, but she would go along to heal anyone hurt, mainly because of her vows, and lack of armor. She's still a tough cookie, and since Rowyn's discovered that little fact about her, she likes having her close, an instant healer without having to deal with the church.

Actually, having one of the PCs become romantically involved with Lavinia is somewhat expected of the campaign. It certainly gives that PC (and by extension the other PCs) a stronger tie to the campaign, and makes the entire campaign feel more dynamic. In fact, NPC/PC romances are strongly encouraged throughout Savage Tide; developments like this are very much in line with the romantic/swashbuckly feel for the campaign.

In the Savage Tide campaign I'm running, the beguiler's courting Lavinia, the archer/rogue's courting Skald, the bard WAS courting Avner but cut him loose when his secret journal became public knowledge, and the monk/cleric's courting Amella. Only the barbarian/druid's keeping her hands to herself, and that's mostly because she's really kinda scary...

In any case, I say play up the romance angle in your game. When it comes time for the trip south, Lavinia asks the PCs (and her lover in particular) to take charge of the Sea Wyvern because she trusts them, and partially because she doesn't want to be TOO distracted on her journey south...

When my PCs first met Rowyn, there were some other issues at hand. First, they had managed to capture a LD and interrogate him. I won't go into detail about the conversation, however, they agreed to set him free and gave him the information that Vanthus killed Penkus.

I reasoned that this information would trouble Rowyn, who would now have a reason to believe that Vanthus may have been playing her like he had been playing his sister.
Despite this, I still had Rowyn send another ambush against the PCs.
When my PCs finally found her, her guild was in shambles and the PCs had all the evidence they would need. Her cash cow, Vanthus couldn't be trusted. She figured if she could get the PCs on her side, they could steal from the Vanderborens as easily as Vanthus. So she made a last ditch attempt, offered them a healthy bribe and waited to see what they would do. My PCs blinked.
They new she had set up the assassination of the Harbormaster by this point. (They figured it out from the map). I even had her tell them to spy on Lavinnia and she asked them to help her rebuild her guild. They agreed to it all.

Yes I had something similar to this happen. Vanny was using Rowyn and she found out about it and decided the best way to fix her problem was to just let the family so itself in, and withdraw what support she had given, and play the part of the scorned lover.

I do not just start over a game, that is wearing on me and my PC's, and I also feel its limiting them, because it would be like something I can not deal with, which is farthest from the truth, they are not truely bad people, they do not steal from the poor, kick babies etc---they are just fed up with how the 'hero' type treated them, and I agreed when I read that I was like. Ouch! because they have always been careful to be polite to others, and to have someone treat them like that, made them upset.

Rowyn painted a very interesting picture for the PC's, this was what she said to them.
SPOILERS ABOUND...

Rowyn's eyes widened as she looked to the group gathered before her. She placed the tip of the rapier she held in the wood at her feet and shook her head. "And they call me a pirate." her jeweled gaze lifted. "So you are working for Lavina, they say she had something to do with her parents disappearance, if you get my drift, from what I understand it was a plot between her and her brother, and I have been looking into that as well." a small smirk forming on her full lips.

"Did you meet her lackeys, ah how she enjoys pitting her forces against each other." she said with a sad shake of her head. "So she offered you a pitance, to dance to her tune, so she could pull your puppet strings, that is truely a sad thing, as I would offer you more than that, to work for me, and you know where my alliance lays, to myself mostly, and the higher powers, but at least you'd be able to keep an eye on me." that said teasingly as she glanced to the thief who'd been staring at her the whole encounter.

One of the girls in our gaming group is something of an artist. While playing through "The Sea Wyvern's Wake" last month, she took a liking to the NPC images included in the adventure. During play, the cabin boy, Tavey Nesk (nicknamed P.P.B. for "Prepubescent"), soon became a big hit with the party, and she wanted to know where his portrait was. I told her he wouldn't be drawn until the next issue, so she decided to take matters into her own hands.

Taking a blank sheet of paper, she quickly whipped up a portrait of the erstwhile cabin boy. But she didn't stop there. Finding a wayward popsicle stick, she brushed off the corn dog leavings from it, cut out the portrait, and affixed the drawing to the stick. And thus was born the P.P.B. puppet. Now every time the teenaged youth broke into a conversation in his squeaky voice, he had a face to go along with it.

With the arrival of "Here There Be Monsters," our artist friend took it upon herself to expand the cast of puppets. Now Amella Venkalie, Avner Meravanchi and Urol Forol (with Miss Cazzle in her sleeping cap) have been immortalized as works of art and DM-ing aids. Perhaps this tale will be an inspiration for motivated individuals to make NPC puppets of their very own.

I'll try to find a digital camera and put some images of the puppets online.

Thats pretty neat, I tend to do sketchs myself of my NPC's if there is none. I think its a good thing to see others do the same.

Are you the same Brainiac from Play By Web by any chance ?

Yes, the group recognized the fact that they were superior adventurers to themselves, just yet. However, they were really put off by how ill treated they were, it wasn't like they had picked a fight or anything.

So they decided she was the better of two evils, its bad when they had no one to identify with. It was never about the money for the PC's in my group, they like the idea of adventuring, of making a name for themselves, and living up to the legacy of there parents.

It was a harsh blow, and I am not sure HOW they will handle discovering that Rowyn is evil.

I don't think it would work well, if only because of some of the elements. (Dealing with Males, and working for lessers.)

During character creation back when there was just the players guide, one of the PC's chose to have her as a childhood friend, so I am facing this delimma as well, the female PC, is charismatic and often the problem solver of the party, so they are inclined to follow her, she is a childhood friend of Roweyn's, so she discovered what happened, Rowyn told half truths, to the group, which because of the PC,they bought hook line and sinker.

It was easy enough to make a villan out of Lady Vanderborne, concidering how her little group of adventures, treated the PC's. Rowyn said she needed the protection, and the group has decided to help her for now.

Wandering is right, they did add quite a bit of good material but its NEVER enough (my cleric is half Daelkyr of course.. and they sure could use some lubbins and dragonmarks!)

There will NEVER be new dragonmarks. It would ruin the setting as not even a horde of epic Elminster and Drizzt clones could.

Also, Races of Eberron sucked, a lot. Pretty much the only good part was the kalashtar section written by Keith Baker. I'm not saying other people can't write good Eberron material, mind you; I'm just saying it's not whoever came up with that Vulkoor drivel. "Ack! We made the drow too minor and different from the FR ones! Let's give them more material than the much more important goblinoids and shoehorn an arachnid deity in!"

As for the topic at hand, much as I like shifters, they don't really need more fluff. Their elegance lies partly in their simplicity. More shifter feats would be nice, though, but not ones dependant on anything introduced in RoE.

Thats not a very nice thing to say, to date you are the only person I have found who thinks Races Sucked, I think it was very informative, and our group uses it largely, also Nanyea wasn't saying we needed MORE dragonmarked, just some loving for the current ones, which I would all but agree to I really need more info for my Dragon Marked Heir. ^_^

Okay, I have a question maybe you can help me with, wonderful adventure first off. * Ahem* can you tell me how much it would be to purchase a Kamadan, our group took on Rattle as a follower.

Eberron Races, had Alot of informations on Shifters, I was impressed with the amount of info they had.

There is an adventure by Phillip Larwood in Issue 103 called "Sinkhole." It is a nice, low-level excursion to the Plane of Shadow (actually, it is mostly caverns connected to a portal to the Plane of Shadow, but you can travel to that plane via the same portal). It appeared in the subscriber only supplement of #103, but I think that it comes with any back issues ordered through the Paizo website.

I really would like to join and donate, but I do not have pay pal due to its mess up last year. Is there any other way to contribute money, Check---money order (perferably) since no one in my group has Pay Pal.

You can also do this, with this wish, he did not specify WHEN he wanted to be a copper dragon, you can slowly turn him into one, As in, you can adjust his stats, cause things to happen at in opertune times, since he has no experience with a dragon shape, other than his half dragon nature.

And since he gave up his wings, he'd be grounded and unable to fly as it were, the whisper of his wings, I would think would constitute that. Your the GM though.
