umm, maybe a stupid question...why isn't it also in PDF format to be downloaded? still charge $5.00 for it and save use shipping costs?
I really hope more are printed out as it is pretty discouraging to me to run the SS series without it..
There will be a PDF and it will be free.

So those of us that spent $5.00 plus shipping were stupid for jumping in so quick? Why wasn't it put up as a PDF in the first place?

Because these were a special promotion for GenCon to sow some interest in the Adventure path. There were extras left. Paizo offered them up to their fans if they were interested. I paid the extra because I want a good, high-quality, hard copy. I will print out several copies of the download for the players but this Booklet will be a good reference for me and will be available for all at the table instead of 15 sheets of printout. Paizo stated many times, on a few threads that the PDF would be available near the time the first magazine came out. There was no underhandedness on their part.

Right from the start paizo was saying they would put it up as a pdf when the print copies sold out. So to answer your question - yes.
Actually, the PDF isn't tied to us selling out of the print version—it's tied to the Dungeon staff getting the time to work on the file. We hope to post it about the time the first Savage Tide issue hits retail, whether or not we've sold out of the print version.

I purchased mine yesterday and consider it money well spent. Even with the PDF being available, having a hard copy resource at the table that I don't have to go print out is very valuable. I intend to point my players in the direction of the PDF if they want it to use in the game, but the hardcopy we can all use and benefit from. I suggest that anyone who is running the Savage Tide or playing in it for that matter pick this up.

Overseas supporter of his local store here; why the hell can't these things be released through retail outlets?
I get the thing it was a Gencon special, and I can order through the online store, which will cost more in postage than it will to purchase, then take three weeks to get here if I'm lucky, but it being available when I purchase the issue of Dungeon it corresponds with would have been great.
After buying into Ptolus and seeing how useful the Players Guides for that campaign is, I think the STPG is an awesome idea. Thanks for what I am sure will be an awesome product when it is ready for download, just wish it was easier to get in print form.
