When I'm down I could always use a good hug. I also find relief by making monsters to crush my PC's. And with the combined efforts of a naturally haywire psyche and falling asleep next to a freshly open can of paint I started to wonder what monster would give the best hugs.
I think a Bullet would be fun to hug because it's like a giant shiny dog/armadillo thing. I find dogs very comforting and though I've never met one I've heard good things about armadillos.
Oh and if anyone wants to post anything with Nymphs or Succubi try and keep it in a humorous yet non offensive mask of lude innuendo.

I just needed to chime in and say that my son (who is almost 3) has become obsessed with my 3 bullette miniatures. He plays with them every day and takes them to his friend's house whenever he goes. When we go shopping or for a walk, he always has to carry one like a security blanket. Actually, he's playing with them as I type.
Now I'm more of a cat person. Nothing hugs like a displacer beast.

I should have put in a disclaimer that that joke is rated PG. Only those adults regularly exposed to excess levels of children's programming (i.e. parents) are likely to get it.

I get it and I'm just recently 18. I also have seen every disney cartoon ever made and have a scary memory of very minute details. For instance, the names of the evil moray eels from the little mermaid: Flotsam and Jetsam, Flower's (the skunk from Bambi) name for love: Twitterpaited. The name of the theif that gets eaten at the beginning of Alladin: Hazeem. and a library full of more. Not a parent either.
But I do have three darling little neices that will only fall asleep while watching a disney movie.

Got to be a Monk/Reaping Mauler who gives the best hugs...
they can be subdual love, damaging love, and even Fatal love.
Of course they'll hug you, but without alot of ranks in Escape Artist or a high Strength and the feat Improved Grapple, it could be indefinately! Now that's a committing kind of hug! :)

Well, I think that Campbell Pentney's Ooze Grey Render from last issue of Dungeon would give great hugs (and exfoliate you, too, if Tony M. has taught me anything from Mt. Zogon)
Mind Flayer's will give you a hug with a nice little peck on the top of the head.
An otyugh's hug may very well remind you of hugging your uncle (or high school boyfriend, for some of the girls in here)
And those rascally little rot grubs will go straight to your heart...
But, for my money, let yourself be hugged by a Tendriculos. It's like hugging a pine forest right after the rain.

I'm pretty sure the flumph could really use a hug. I mean, they only appear once every couple of years in an adventure, if they're lucky. Poor flumphs.
I bet hugging a Raggomoffyn would be nice and warm for the first minute or so until you start suffocating.
I think we should stat out a 'hug golem' specifically for this thread. And then we should all write adventure proposals for Dungeon involving the hug golem, or an Ecology of the hug golem (even if they are constructs). I bet every PC mage that's in-touch with their sensitive side would want a hug golem. Heck, I'm pretty sure I'd like one, too.

My youngest son, who will also be three soon, loves that bullette miniature too.

My daughter(3yrs) grabs the Bulette everytime I pull out the minis to do anything and just loves it. I think I'll just let her have it.
