The Rod of Seven Parts, which issues are they in?

Dungeon Magazine General Discussion

I want to know more about the whole Wind Dukes and the Rod of seven parts. Which issues of dungeon/dragon were the information and adventures in? Or is there some online supplement I'm overlooking?

One (the largest) piece is in Dungeon #129. The others have not appeared yet.

The Rod of Seven Parts is completely detailed in the Arms & Equipment Guide.

RPGNOW.com sells a PDF of the ROD OF SEVEN PARTS boxed set. You could check that out.

Is it worth getting?

From my 2nd edition times I remember it being a great adventure... with what little memory I have of that time ;-).

I'd say so - unfortunately, it's set in a 'generic' world instead of Greyhawk, but that is its only real down side.

As a matter of preference, I changed the wolf-spider mutants into something a little different when I ran it, but that's all that I modified (except running it in Greyhawk).

I bought it a couple weeks ago and found it very useful. In fact I plan to use the piece found by the characters in the Age of Worms campaign to launch the next campaign (to retrieve all seven parts) since despite decades of playing my players have never come across the Rod before. The boxed set gives everything you want to know and more but, as mentioned, in not upgraded to 3.x edition. We play everything in 2nd edition so this was obviously no problem for me (and won't be for my players) but I'm not sure what complications might exist for 3.x players.

Interesting. I can only cheaply hope the kind souls at the illustrious Dungeon magazine will either update the info or copy it from Arms and Equipment (which I do not count among my collection).
