Critical Threat in 126!

Dungeon Magazine General Discussion

Dark Archive

I just wanted to to thank y'all for bringing back Critical Threats in issue 126. Although I know you probably can't do it every issue, it would be awesome if Maps of Mystery and Critical Threats could alternate. Anyway, thanks for putting it in there.

So who the heck is it?

Wasn't it written by someone who posts regularly on these boards? GGG?

Nope, but it looked kinda cool.

GGG

Sovereign Court

i really enjoy the critical threats articles. They are some of my favorite. Im not a subscriber so I'll have to wait. by the way, where's that will save article? it was pretty funny

The Barbarian character in my campaign would love to get a hold of the new magic item in this article, the Torque of Lucid Raging. The Wondrous Item is only worth 9000gp and it removes all of the penalties normally acquire during a Rage.

I was in good company in the Campaign Workbook section! The Critical Threat was written by Wes, Dragon assistant editor and master of (according to Mike) SpellCraft and Ecology articles.

Not to drag this thread too far off topic.... but I read your article last night, Ashavan. I had to jump out of order in the magazine to do so, which kills an anal retentive, type A personality like me. :) Very nice indeed. I like plot hooks, and your article drips with them. You have a very nice style - very easy to read.

I'm looking forward to seeing more of your stuff in the pages of both mags.

I think both can fit in every issue. Use the last page for Maps of Mystery. And put Critical Threats instead of Downer.

Peace and smiles :)

Thanks! I should have another Campaign Workbook coming up in a few issues. It's currently slotted for #128.

Personally I was very excited to see a return of Critical Threats, since it means renewed hope for the three I have languishing on Jeremy's computer.

I'm still working on breaking through into Dragon as well, and I hope you'll get to see some of my work there eventually too!

Even were they to get rid of Downer (please no! I love Kyle Hunter's work!) they would probably replace it with another comic, since the comics are very popular.

I'm just impressed that Wayne Reynolds' art has finally managed to turn the 'gyrspike' from the joke of the D&D weapons list into a respectable weapon again.
