When and where will the Greyhawk regional feats from Dragon #315 and #319 be available for download for use in conjunction with the Living Greyhawk campaign setting?

I kid you not when I say millions in the RPGA await to see these feats here!

Heck, I'd like to see some of the Greyhawk content in Dungeon and Dragon put into a hardcover 3.5 Greyhawk book. I know a few things from various articles have made it into various 3e and 3.5e books. It'd be great to see the remaining material in one collective source. I'd even be willingto pay full price for a downloadable PDF if it means saving the cost of printing for either Wizards of the Coast or Paizo.

Well perhaps not mollions but a fair number to say the least. Is there an estimate of when the regional feats for Greyhawk will be available on this website?

Jason Bulmahn (Associate Editor, <i>Dragon</i> Magazine) and Erik Mona (Editor-in-Chief, <i>Dragon</i> Magazine) are working to make the Greyhawk feats available as quickly as possible. The machine is in motion, so it is only a matter time before the Greyhawk feats become available for our Living Greyhawk fans. :)

Ooh! Ooh! Are they available yet? Are they available yet?

Almost there... Almost there... stay on target.. stay on target...

I take it these are being retconned for the masses? My guess is that Troll Blooded probably didn't make the cut...

"Retconned?"

Whatever. All I want is something I can print up so I can carry a few pieces of extra paper with me to my games instead of two entire magazines.

(Egad! I'm a minotaur!!)

Well, do we have an estimated date? Will it be before 3/1/05 when the old stuff goes away and we can also retool our characters?

Josh R.

I'm actually not a "Living Greyhawker" (er, "Livinger Greyhawkian?"), just a DM doin' a Greyhawk campaign. And we played tonight, so I had to go featless. *weep*

I'm not asking for my eagerness to fuel anyone else's efforts, just sayin', "Hello, I'm here. Gimme stuff!"

Just yer basic, uh, customer then. [heh heh]

There is almost no way that LG is going to use all the feats exactly as written. Not sure if some will be changed or some will be omitted but my guess is that they won't be exactly the same as in Dragon. Unfortunate, because the cooler ones are the ones that everyone will want to take and munchkin their characters with.

Actually, I would consider that a doubleplusgood bonus. A few of them seem too miffy for me.

Greyhawk will evolve greatly with a new story arc, probably taking 3-6 adventures with a Sandstorm arc.

Additionally there are 3 intro mods a year, and not only is this a great way for new authors to get a chance to submit alongside the big shots, but it entices players to make new t00ns, rather waste a slot a big con. (I apologize for that jargonasm)

My point... people will continue to create new characters fairly often, whether due to TU shortage, fear or water adventures, desire to play in new regions, etc.

so these feats may get some use on people's RP-characters, or their experimental characters etc.

beyond that... who knows.

I'm just sad the Oozemaster disappears March 1st. He was so misunderstood :(

Will these feats be avaiable on the Paizo- or the RPGA-Site?
And will there be changes on known feats or even new ones?

One would hope that it they are not being delayed in an effort to push up sales of #'s 315 and 319. I can't find the magazines anywhere anyway, which is driving me bonkers!

Truth be told, they are being held up due to some technical hurdles. We are hoping to get them up soon.

BTW.. #315 and 319 can be found in our webstore :-)

Hey, wait. I used to post on that message board that you used to post on, and then one day I sat down in front of my computer and couldn't remember the address. What message board was that? ???

Isn't this a bit off-topic?

Anyway, poking and prodding again. Is there any news on the Greyhawk Regional Feats for RPGA.

No, it's a lot off-topic. :-)

Well I hope they don't come out any time soon. ;) I just spent several hours on the computer getting them into a WordPerfect file (no you can't have a copy so don't ask). I added the Paladin feats as well and got the whole bunch in alphabetical order. I'd hate for all that work to go to waste with a quick download. :)

This also raises my pet peeve. These feats were described as fitting with the LGG, but you could never use them in the LG campaign.

Why not? The only thing preventing it for me is that, not owning the magazines, I cannot use a copy of them. The current LGCS specifies which of these feats can be used by which characters. Once Paizo posts them (hint to Jason and Erik), I can have (for example) a Suel character with the Well Read feat.

Bueller? Bueller?

Anytime soon? I'd like to have the official ones instead of the ones I scanned in and pdf'd myself (no, I won't send the files to anyone so don't ask).

Erik, if it would help, i found a list of the regional feats typed up in html somewhere on the net. If you want it let me know...

Not to be a pest or anything, but I'm just curious if there's an updated ETA. I think we're a bit past the beginning of March. ;)

Hmm, April 15th and still no feats for use with Living Greyhawk.

Once I start seeing Piazo honoring time schedules for relatively minor things, then I consider subscribing.

Paizo Employee Chief Creative Officer, Publisher

Getting the final approval from WotC to put out PDFs of this thing has been trickier than we anticipated. I honestly don't understand the hold-up myself, but as I've been running both magazines and launching the new Age of Worms Adventure Path, it hasn't been a high priority for me.

I'll see if I can get the ball rolling on Monday.

Incidentally, I think using the delay on this, something we've never done before, as a metric to measure whether or not to subscribe to the magazines is extremely weird to me, but we all have our standards.

Personally, I find it kind of odd that they would put in the LGCS that Paizo was going to put a download file for the regional feats then not give them the rights to do so in a PDF file.

That makes two of us. I'm working on it. :)

Any suggestions as to whose email at WOTC needs to get flooded with gentle reminders?

For the record, you have replied 3 times to this thread, an Associate Editor has replied twice and an Assistant Editor has replied once.
I personally find it very easy to understand why someone would use this performance as a measure of editorial ability. I started gaming back in 1979. Since then I have bought thousands of dollars worth of both Dragon and Dungeon Mags. I have never subscribed because I hate getting a torn product after the USPS gets done with it.
I had a magazine that I loved called "Command" that was great. After a few years they started getting the magazine out late all the time, I would have trouble getting all the issues because they would fall behind and then ship 2-3 issues at once. After about 9 months of this they went out of business.
I have seen lots of companies promise a product and not deliver. It has been usually followed by a the end of the company as we knew it. I'm sure all of us can remember games we enjoyed but have DIED. This type of activity was usally the first sign to outsiders (Can you say TSR, Avalon Hill, Judges Guild, etc?)
So far you have told us:

After all the years of gaming/editing that you have enjoyed I am sure that you know how gamers feel that they should get an answer to their question yesterday, not 6 months later. I personnaly don't quite understand how you feel your response would be anything except a case study in bad customer service/relations.
Don't worry I won't quit buying your mags and supporting my FLGS.

A free publication delayed by another company that holds the license for the content is not a case by which one should decide whether or not one should subscribe to a product for which one has to pay.

If you need the regional feats so badly, go buy the back issues in which they were published. Customer Services works well enough for you to be able to obtain them promptly the old fashioned way - paying for it.

I already own both issues. I also own quite a few older issues of both mags. My comments were not directed at any "free publication delayed by another company" but at the pathetic lack of customer service skills in providing an answer to questions since this thread was started over 5 months ago.
Since you claim that this will be a "free publication" is there something you don't know that the rest of us would love to know? Where did you hear it would be "free", and from whom?

Pathetic lack of customer skills? Wow. That's obtuse. I've experienced nothing but excellent customer service from Paizo, and because of a lack of posting to a single thread, you're going to completely write off the quality of customer service? I don't know if it's just me, but I'd rather they keep busy with creating quality magazines than worry about one lousy thread about a PDF that has content of which you already own a copy.

Regarding whether or not the PDF will be free, when a product is announced as an item to be sold, usually it's indicated as such. I haven't read anything hinting that the PDF would have a price associated with it. Have you?

Now if you're expecting it to cost money, it'll probably be cheaper for you to make photocopies of the articles and keep them in a folder for personal use. Taking into consideration that you already own copies of the articles and are expecting the PDF to cost money, you have no real justification to criticize Paizo's customer service only because of a lack of responses from Paizo in this thread.

Give them some breathing room. You don't know what might be happening on their end of things that could be holding up the release of the PDF or the ability to answer questions in this thread.

Since I'm the one who made the comment about not subscribing, I'll point out that this issue (the pdf of the Greyhawk feats) is one of many reasons. I bought the back issues once teh Living Greyhawk campaign stated that they would allow the feat usage, but I've still been waiting, for months now, for a promised pdf.

I subscribed, a great many years ago, to Dungeon and recieved only 4 of my 12 issues. I've spoken to a couple dozen other people who have had similar experiences, and I've seen numerous posts on various message boards about the same thing over the years.

Call the PDF issue a hope that things were changing. It appears that its not and I'll just save my money.

I still don't get it. What does the PDF have to do with the quality of the magazine such that you wouldn't want to subscribe? From what I'm gathering, it seems that not subscribing is just cutting off your nose to spite your face.

Wow, six responses from high-ups in the company letting you know how progress is going on a project that they evidently would like to release and you call that bad customer service? They've responded to this thread in an attempt to keep you informed, they could have just ignored this thread entirely until they could say "It will definitely be out on this date" - but they have taken the time to keep you in the proverbial loop.

I've yet to receive poor customer service from Paizo! I have missed a few issues from my subscription in the past, including possibly this one (it tends to run late since I'm at an APO), but their customer service department has always responded to my issues quickly and settled them in a manner that pleased me.

If the only information he currently has is that he doesn't have any new information and he is willing to let you know, I think that is a sign of someone who is willing to take responsibility for their own actions. People who try to hide that nothing is going on with various projects are just trying to slide by in the system.

I will renew my subscription when it expires in a few months.

Well, it's been 3.5 months since the last "official" response (a rather prophetic number, don't you think? ;) )

We out here would LOOVE to know (or at least get a hint at) which WotC employee(s) we have to put a few suggestions to at GenCon...

I'm sure Paizo in general (and Erik in particular!) is doing its level best to get the pdf out (and I thought the internet was supposed to make information distribution EASIER!); we just want make sure we charm the right folks and get the best result with the fewest saves!
