The immense islands of earth block out the sun, casting an eternal twilight. Eventually, you come to an unusual area. The water has pooled where the trees tore the ground up from the earth to create a vast dark lake in which the occasional whirlpool forms. This shadowy mere blocks any further travel via land. However, a great tree appears to have fallen down and created a natural bridge over the area. Two large waterfalls flow down from the islands to either side of the bridge, soft mist filling the air in between.

We have also added a high-resolution jpg version of the map (with and without the grid) for ease of use on a virtual tabletop.

As you clear the edge, you find a large altar at the center of the butte. The rest of the area is perfectly smooth, covered in obsidian, making the surface look like black glass. The windswept surface is free of dust and no mar lies upon its surface, yet within the glass lie runes and constellations. It is then that you realize that reflections do not appear upon its dark surface.

With a feeling of instant vertigo, you are unexpectedly in the center of an open air sheer glass balcony entirely lacking protective railing. It is half-shrouded in mist created by two waterfalls spilling into the basin far below. A brilliant rainbow arches through the balcony. The glass pane appears to connect to the brown stone door of a lovely multilevel red house with a number of similar glass balconies. Floating point-down just out of reach over the basin is a brilliant crystal-woven golden longsword.

The balcony is 30' wide at the base, narrowing to 5', and extends 20' out over the falls at its farthest point.
