Elaine Cunningham's Pathfinder Tales novel is here!

I really wanted to start off our Pathfinder Tales fiction line with a bang. So when we got Elaine Cunningham to sign on for one of the first novels, I was ecstatic! Elaine has always been a favorite author of mine—I especially like the Harpers books she penned for the Forgotten Realms book line for TSR and then WotC. Elaine's characters always pop off the page for me, making her novels memorable. And I'm pleased to report that the same is true of Pathfinder Tales: Winter Witch, available now in print, PDF, and ePub formats!

In a village of the frozen north, a child is born possessed by a strange and alien spirit, only to be cast out by her tribe and taken in by the mysterious winter witches of Irrisen, a land locked in permanent magical winter. Farther south, a young mapmaker with a penchant for forgery discovers that his sham treasure maps have begun striking gold.

This is the story of Ellasif, a barbarian shield maiden who will stop at nothing to recover her missing sister, and Declan, the ne’er-do-well young spellcaster-turned-forger who wants only to prove himself to the woman he loves. Together they’ll face monsters, magic, and the fury of Ellasif’s own cold-hearted warriors in their quest to rescue the lost child. Yet when they finally reach the ice-walled city of Whitethrone, where trolls hold court and wolves roam the streets as men, will it be too late to save the girl from the forces of darkness?

Oh, get out! It is not.

Pass the back bacon, eh?

Is that the Temple of Syrinx in the background?

This was a FANTASTIC novel... well done Elaine (and Dave)!

This novel, and the Witchwar Legacy, and Curse of the Riven Sky has stoked (and renewed/rekindled) my thoughts and interest in creating a homebrew "Witches vs. Vikings" Adventure Path. (Or stirred up my hope that in 3 or 4 years the fine folks at Paizo Publishing will do one of their own... because if memory serves... it's either 4713 or 4714 in which Baba Yaga is supposed to return, snatch up Elvanna and place a new daughter as Irrisen's Queen).

Great novel. Want more.

That date is not an accident. Stay tuned!
