Dream a Little Dream...

The cult of Hastur no longer threatens Thrushmoor, and now the adventurers board a riverboat to Cassomir to track down their obsessed and corrupted former employer. Along the way, they explore the Dreamlands and attempt a number of bizarre dream quests, after which the adventurers can heal their fragmented minds—but they also learn of a greater threat looming over Golarion. Can they survive the perilous Dreamlands and emerge intact or will they be stranded in a dimension of nightmares?

This volume of Pathfinder Adventure Path continues the Strange Aeons Adventure Path and includes:

  • "Dreams of the Yellow King," a Pathfinder adventure for 7th-level characters, by Ron Lundeen.
  • A comprehensive gazetteer exploring the Sellen River, Avistan's most expansive waterway, including additional encounters one could run into while sailing its winding course, by Liz Courts.
  • A heart-pounding journey through the dark in the Pathfinder's Journal, by Wendy N. Wagner
  • A collection of terrifying and bizarre monsters, including an enigmatic Great Old One, by James Jacobs and Todd Stewart.

ISBN-13: 978-1-60125-899-1

"Dreams of the Yellow King" is sanctioned for use in Pathfinder Society Organized Play. The rules for running this Adventure Path and Chronicle sheet are available as a free download (723 kb zip/PDF).

Good

4/5

Only 2 downsides:
-getting here is basically impossible if your players burned down the mansion and with that the books they needed to do the travels, but that is a problem i need to solve myself.
-In the end of the adventure, it says "oh yeah, I hope you took your player's character sheets at level 7 and copied them, cause now you'll need them. This encounter could've been so cool! And putting a short disclaimer in the beginning of the book would've been so easy, but noooooo, it's gotta be at the end of the book, when the PC's already advanced 2 levels. That's just neglect of the reader

This part of the adventure is gorgeous! 2 lines of adventure, intertwining together however the DM wants it to happen. you can count the days they travel and make it exact, or eyeball all the encounters! Add more sea encounters from behind the book if you want too! And the dreamland parts are amazing, so much creative stuff went into there, and the RP options are amazing as well

On another note:
november now has a whopping 31 product entries on the release schedule (september had 5, october 11).

To be fair some of them are alternate comic covers and 4 of them are different minis listings.

I expect AP #111 to come out in november (if it gets updated till october 19th latest).

But 2 pawns, 2 campaign settings, 2 player companions - no way.

Which two pawns, Marco?

Too bad we can't Dark Young and Dimensional Shambler again...

But still! I look forward to seeing what we do get regardless in this adventure.

So does that mean that the creatures licensed by Chaosium won't appear in any other adventures?

Actually, it COULD happen. We'd just need to repeat the legal text and arrange it, but we've got a really good relationship these days with Chaosium so I doubt that'd be a problem.

So is that a "Maybe" on Dimensional Shambler and Dark Young, Mister Jacobs?

I'd love to see a 64 page Mythos Bestiary in the Campaign Setting line with all the creatures collected.

Also, now that you are tuning the modules line, how about another Lovecraftian adventure?
Carrion Hill was great and is sold out.

Thank you for making this deal with Chaosium real.

Another part of the cooperation with Chaosium is Sandy Petersen's Cthulhu Mythos for Pathfinder. It's not an official Paizo product, but regarding this AP, it might be the closest thing you'll be able to get, once it is released.

Do you know the intended ETA?

I still want just those two in an adventure again. They were awesome. :)

My "turn to the modules line" turned out to be kind of a false start. I'm currently working on Bestiary 6 instead.

I would love to see more Lovecraftian adventures though, be they in the AP line or the modules line.

The original intended date is December 2016. I don't know if they are still on track for that date, though.

I seriously doubt that this will be out in november (which is too full with too many products anyway).

It still hasn't a product update.

Product updates on the site for cover art and descriptions are not tied to shipping logistics, for clarity. I can confirm that this is still slated for November.

Dark Archive

One month till street date.

If this isn't updated by wednesday (october 19th), i won't expect it to be in stores on november 16th. :-(

It will happen one way or the other Marco.

Dark Archive

Four weeks till release.
12 days till shipping begins.
This being the ONLY november pathfinder product NOT UPDATED yet makes me fear that it won't be in stores in 28 days...

In 28 days later, Marco will be hungering for more AP. ;)

I heard they want to start authorizing next Thursday or Friday (Oct 27th or 28th) :-)

Dark Archive

The "november 2016 new release thread"
should be created on monday (24th of october).
I guess we'll find out more then.
As i heard, they had problems at the printers, as it was so damp that the pages wouldn't dry.

When will the date be changed to match the correct release time?

The authorizations begin Thursday.

Dark Archive

So the "november 2016 new release thread" should be created on wednesday 26th by the latest...

Didn't find it cause they renamed it - again.

Dark Archive

Why is this not updated yet?
It begins shipping in 5 days and is supposed to be in stores in 3 weeks.
Considering that this was supposed to be an october product and got delayed, it makes even less sense, as all other november products have been updated weeks ago.
What is the problem?

Slipped through the cracks most likely. :-)

Not to pry, but is something wrong Marco, you seem kind of upset lately, you're not your usual cheerful self. :-)

I've been an AP subscriber since Curse of the Crimson Throne. They have never gone two consecutive months without releasing a volume of their AP.

As some people have noted, this is most likely due to just not getting the data to the printer on time, or getting the printed material stateside on time. Once Paizo actually has all that Pathfinder goodness stuffed in their warehouse though? It's ready to ship.

And honestly, with the Curse of the Crimson Throne tome shipping this month I'm actually quite pleased with the AP volume being delayed.

Actually, since shipment of my hardcopy of CotCT is tied to shipment of this installment is slowly killing me...

Can't wait! Any day now...

Ruyan.

Yeah, that one is rather grumpy looking.

Meh. Just re-read my post... That's what you get if you rearrange text too many times...

I thought the avatar looks rather smug, so I'll wager it's the weather.

Maybe the cover and description were already updated and Paizo forgot to tell us that it was? The description does look more like the volumes before it than the ones after it.

Probaby because Liz is no longer there to tell us...

Yep, that is my guess.

Wait, what? This is out now? I wonder where's my subscription copy and the pdf? I believe I haven't had any email notifications, plus it's not shown in my subscription status at all. Is this normal? Anyone else having any possible issues with their subscription concidering the 3rd part of Strange Aeons?

It's not out yet. Shipping to subscribers starts Monday.

Phew. Got me worried for a while - especially when my shopping cart is acting out at the sime time, not reducing the 15% discount on the other products. Might as well try again tomorrow to get the goods shipped in one go. Thanks for the info, mate.

No problem. I think the authorization process is currently happening, so you might want to keep an eye on the November shipment thread in the Customer Service section, if you don't get your authorization email.

Well, on the bright side, since the river is vast and deep with LOTS of shores, perhaps there is a possibility for a whole CS book of the topic somewehere in the future? I wouldn't mind. :)

Does this one getting pushed back mean the rest of the installments will be pushed too?

According to my subscription page January will have two, the same as last year. :-)
