How many pages are in this book? What's the page count/trap count?

If it was Pathfinder, I'd get it.

I believe this is generally seen as the best book on traps for all of d20, no?

Frog God Games

It is, and it includes trap rules. I don't think that there's much in the way of conversion needed to make it work for Pathfinder.

I tried to find my copy to answer your questions on it, Wolf, but just couldn't find it in the pile-of-packed-boxes. :/

If I had $50 lying around, I'd get it but I don't. :(

Besides which, I'm waiting to find out what FGG puts out as their followup subscription to Slumbering Tsar.

Thanks for looking anyway. I'm still trying to decide whether I want it or not. Well, obviously I want it, but I'm trying to decide if I want it at the current price. If I wait long enough they'll all sell out and the decision will be made for me.

According to the Amazon listing and the DriveThruRPG listing, it has 221 pages and 200+ traps, plus includes the Traps Bazaar and Dungeon of Doom, an all trap dungeon. And not to take sales away from Paizo, but the pdf of the books is on sale right now for $18.99 at DriveThruRPG.

Frog God Games

The pdf is not a real dead tree book though

True, and while DriveThru also listed physical books, I think they were POD books and only in B&W and, to me, not worth getting. I think the price here for the original, real book is still the best to be found.

Technically the original is in black and white too, isn't it? Thanks for the details though. I managed to find the cover price somewhere in my searches but didn't see the page/trap count. (I probably overlooked that detail on at least one page.)

The copy on my desk has a color cover, color inside and back cover pages, with the interior pages being black & white. Including advertisements, it is 224 pages on semi-glossy paper.

One page of advertisements, front and back.

Liberty's Edge

This thing is amusing as can be. I got it when the first d20 version came out, and used it to happily and blithely butcher a few player characters over the years. The Chute and Hammer Trap may be my favorite thing ever.

I have copies of the original grim tooth traps and they are great, and I like that you can make the DC's, damages and other checks as needed to scale with the party.

so I would only consider getting a updated Grimtooth trap book if it was made for Pathfinder.

2 people marked this as a favorite.

I'd love for Frog God to arrange with Flying Buffalo to put out a Grimtooth's Traps: Complete. They'd seem like the perfect company to do it, as Bill (along with Clark as Necromancer Games) previously had a similar arangement with them for this book, and Frog God Games evidently isn't afraid of putting out huge uber-books, which a compilation of all seven of the Grimtooth books would be, especially when you added in stats.

Shadow Lodge

Hint, hint, all you froggies that I know frequent the board.

well well......as if i need another book...or TOME
but from my tattered part collection of grim tooth books

have all the pdf....which is great for preplanning and designing

but when one pulls out huge freaking TOME and laughs in a deep voice..under lantern or candle lite..50 dollars maybe worth the fear effect it self.... never mind the convenience of it being at the finger tips....

yup....my library needs it...me wants it...

My god... I want this so bad it hurts...

I can't +1 this hard enough.

Man, I wish I had $50 dollars lying around. Of course I could return my copy of Ultimate Equipment and get it. I think it'd be more useful.

Smiles wickedly, Yes.

I am very happy I have a hardcover version of this book. I am totally buying the PDF.

Well, sort of a necro, but with an announcement. What I had hoped for is sort of happening. It's Goodman Games instead of Frog God Games, and it's just the first five books instead of all seven (for now...at $100K the PDF will contain the other two books, and at $130K the faux-leather print book will contain them as well).
