Speachless and stunned in AWE!

5/5

I am a huge collectors edition guy and I would have to say that this is hands down the most amazing thing I have ever purchased. This is how it should be done. After I should this to the people who visit the gaming shop I work out, I have a line of players beating down my door to play.
Hats off to Paizo, this is just amazing and hope more future collectors edition are in the works.

What can I say?

5/5

I'd already ordered the Adventure Path, when the announcement for this edition came out. I looked at it, pre-ordered and cancelled my other order, without even looking at what I'd get for my money.
So today it arrived.
There was this huge, heavy box (13 lbs in total), on which I had to pay extra duties. Luckily it'd been labelled Books, so the amount to pay wasn't high.
And then I started unpacking.
Lots of foam peanuts and another big box, this one labelled Rise of the Runelords. In there what looked like a book, with metal casing and a heavy clasp. And in there the real book with the complete adventure path, complete with the handouts, which I love! It's so great to have them ready, without the need to print extra copies of the relevant pages.
This book looks so great, so wonderful, and the leather-like cover feels so smooth, it's better than I could hope for.
And that's without discussing the colour prints, 15 of them, each one good enough to frame.
Yes, it's been an investment, but one I don't regret.

Awe Insiring

5/5

This arrived today and I can happily say I am blown away. The production quality on this is fantastic. The book and case are extremely heavy, weighing it at a hefty 4.9kg!

The case is very well produced. The metallic trim is very sturdy and the clasp is solid - not just a token guesture, but a good, solid folding clasp. It doesn't lock, but the small latch afixed securely closes the case. The leather is very soft to the touch and so may perhaps mark a little too easilly. The case is quite thick, measuring in at around 5mm thick on all sides, and slightly thicker at the base.

As for the book, well I own the original and the anniversary. Since the content differs in only one respect I won't bother examining the content, except to say it is still one of the best AP's out there.

Now the only difference between the content of this and the anniversary edition is the inclusion of separate hand outs, neatly slotted into their relevant pages. These pages are twice as thick as the others, really being 2 pages glued together with a slotcut into them in order leave a space to slide the handout into. This slot may be the weak link her, as it could well tear at the edges if you are not careful in remiving the handouts. The book has a very thick faux leather cover - almost 5 mm thick. This is the same leather as the case and so is also quite soft and will also most likely mark a little easilly. The binding is highest quality aand I could find no defects or mistakes in the page binding, printing or production.

Now the extras. Well each of the prints comes in its own plastic envelope and neatly sits in the case, so no chance of markingor damaging. And let me say they are beautiful - well worth framing if you want to remove them. They are on a good quality glossy thin card stock (perhaps equal to the old map packs)and very well reproduced.

All in all I am blown away by the quality of this. A very worthy additon to the library of pathfinder goodies and deserving of collectors status.
I can't attest to other people feelings on the matter but I certainly feel this was well worth the money paid.

Will I use it to run a game? No. It really will only see use a collector object to show off to my friends, and peer at, Golem-like in my gamesroom (my precious). In the end I give it 5 stars because it is simply a beautiful, well produced, high quality product that I intend to use as a trohpy. If I intendedto run the adventure with it, I'd probably settle to a 4 - the soft faux leather would get damaged by repeated use and the pages with handouts would most likely be damaged by repeated use.

Wow...

5/5

I just had the Collectors Edition arrive today and nothing could prepare me for the magnitude of this product. Seriously. It is MASSIVE. I could beat a person to the ground with this tome. Give me new respect for the villain that its flavor was taken from.

The contents are top notch and make me yearn to run this adventure for a third group.

You out did yourselves, Paizo. I would like to see the inserts for the handouts done more often in future releases of the combined adventure paths. *hint hint*

I am in the unfortunate position that I have to sell my Deluxe Collector's Edition. Although it was bought with the best of intentions, sadly circumstances have meant it has lain unopened beyond the first opening and I need extra cash.

I could sell it on eBay but I would rather that it go to a loving home where I know that it will be well looked after.

However, I'm not willing to part with it for a song; I would need serious offers and consideration for shipping (I'm in the UK, and it's a heavy beast!)

I will, of course, provide pictures to attest to the condition of the volume. All of the prints are with the volume, and have only been out of the protective envelope once, this evening, in order to get photographs.

PM me if interested.

Any chance of you still having that? It's quite a long shot, I know.

I know I'm 10 years late to this party but I'd give my left arm to have this book.

I've a copy of this still unopened that I am looking to sell, (new arrival in the household and simply need the room/cash). It has never been played or opened but has a tiny scuff on the front from shelf life.

I am located in Australia, shipping on this thing will be extremely high as it's very large and heavy. I'd rather sell it to a fan, PM me to discuss
