Paizo and Q-Workshop are proud to bring you the 100%-official Rise of the Runeords Adventure Path dice! These masterfully crafted dice feature black engravings on beige polyhedrons.
Since I'm running the Rise of the Runelords Adventure Path, I figured I should go all in and pick up the official Rise of the Runelords Dice Set. I've now used these dice for about a dozen sessions, and on the whole I'm happy with them. The set comes with the usual assortment: 1d20, 1d12, 2d10s, 1d8, 1d6, and 1d4. The corners of each die contain small sihedron runes (the 7-pointed star that has significance in the Adventure Path) and the borders contain the ancient Thassilonian runes representing the deadly sins of pride, gluttony, sloth, wrath, lust, envy, and greed. For each die, the highest number on the die is the rune for one of those sins. It's a cool set in that way and cleverly incorporates memorably symbols from the Adventure Path onto the dice themselves. I'll never run this Adventure Path again, so having custom dice for it as the GM is a nice souvenir.
My only complaint is that a couple of the runes just happen to look like "1s", and thus it would be easy for the roller to confuse rolling a 1 on that die with rolling the highest number (the rune) on that die. This is an issue with the d8 and one of the d10s. It's not a big enough deal that I would recommend against buying the set, but it's worth paying attention to lest poor rolls be attributed to bad luck rather than a misinterpretation of what those dice show!
The dice look great overall but instead of the highest value showing for each dice there is a rune. It's a bit confusing at time as some of the runes look like numbers from a distance.
I just got these dice today. They're very attractive dice. The detail is amazing. If anyone was wondering, the highest number on each piece is represented by a Rune (One of seven, each piece is different... No spoilers here :P). In the discussion it's mentioned that these dice are very "busy." There are additional smaller runes and scroll work around the numbers on each face. This can make the numbers a little difficult to read from even a short distance (across a decent sized table). If you're the GM rolling these, like I am, then there's no need to fret. If you're the GM, and one of your players are rolling them, make sure they're a trustworthy player, or that another player is keeping them honest. If all of your players are trustworthy, then you're good-to-go.
I purchased my dice on Amazon (with a Prime Account) for $13.32, free 2-day shipping. The cheapest I've seen on Amazon has been $10.05 (+$4.58 S&H), the most expensive was $13.98 (+$8.09 S&H).
These dice have a great look and feel. The detail is crisp and I love the rune for the highest possible roll; it adds a little touch of the arcane to the experience.

What about mine? Was I that late with ordering my sets?
We didn't actually get that many back from Gen Con...
I am happy to see the word shipped next to my order of this item which was still listed as pending yesterday.
All the other non-PDFs in this order are listed as shipped yesterday. However, the dice are listed shipped September 2008. Are they coming with the rest, separately, etc?

Our database shows the dice shipped on 9/8/08 at the same time as the other items (in the same package).
I'm still waiting on mine. Personally, I think it's bogus that folks who did NOT pre-order this product were able to walk right up and buy them at GenCon, while those of us who did pre-order are having to wait for restocking. Yet another reason I won't be ordering directly from Paizo ever again.

Hey Patrick:
I am sorry that you have had a bad time with this product. We thought we would be getting a much larger quantity from Q-Workshop, but we only got a fraction of that amount. We then proceeded to buy all we could from our distributor, but now they are out also. We have queries into Q-workshop to see if we can get a shipment direct, so hopefully that will come soon.
Again, I am sorry that you had trouble with this order. It wasn't our intention to not ship to folks with preorders because we thought we had much more coming. We'll do our best to get this fixed. Thanks!
They roll just fine. Two memebers of my gaming group (myself and one other) have a set and they're no different (except in appearance) than any other dice.
So in the finally of my little dice-capade. I just got my replacement d4 in the mail...with my Pathfinder AP subscription! For an added bonus the 1st roll from it was 4. When two companies that back their products like Q-Workshop and Paizo you can't go wrong.
By-the-by I took some initiative and asked the local store where I purchased the dice about returning and they said "Go for it Paizo always backs their stuff up." So there you have it, Paizo customer service, keeping happy customers happy!
