Each one of you receives a letter from the Pathfinder Society, an assignment located at the Varisia Pathfinder Lodge at Heidmarch Manor in the city of Magnimar. You all arrive and gather at the front gate until the group is... large enough to be called a group, and are finally let inside and greeted by Venture Captain Sheila Heidmarch.

“Welcome to Varisia, welcome to the city of Magnimar, welcome to the Pathfinder Lodge of Heidmarch Manor, but most importantly, welcome to my home.” She greets you in her low, breathy voice, finishing with a warm smile.

“Varisia is a land of ancient wonders and exciting possibilities,” she continues, “and I’ve found it most helpful to keep a team of Pathfinders on call at the lodge at all times, should anything of interest to the Society come up unexpectedly. This assignment is only temporary. We’ll rotate in a new team to take your places in a few weeks, but rest assured, there’s plenty of potential for you to make a name for yourselves as Pathfinders here."

She takes a brief pause to look at each one of you. “I’ve arranged for you to stay in Bakrakhan House, one of our guest cottages, for the duration of your stay here. It’s currently unoccupied, so you’ll have the place to yourselves. You’re on duty starting tomorrow morning, so take some time to settle in, wrap up any unfinished business you have in the city today, and should the Society have need of you, I’ll contact you directly."

“Ebrylis, if you could show them the way, please,” Sheila says as she turns and departs. A half-elf guardsman steps forward. “This way, please,” Ebrylis says. “Bakrakhan House is the last house on the end. I’m sure you’ll want to unpack, set up your bunks, and so on. Dinner’s at sunset in the manor’s dining room. Look for me at the gate if you need anything else. I’ll leave you to it.” With that, Ebrylis strolls back down the path.

Apparently you were lied to, because I've got the map linked, with the Lodge on the left and your house on the right, but the circle is where Bakrakhan House is so maybe Ebrylis is a little drunk...

"Well then chaps, shall we get on to the Bakrakhan House and see if we can stir up a nice plate of mutton? Or maybe a couple tasty game birds, slow roasted over a spit...", Linux begins licking his lips.

"Matarn, we'll be sure they don't try and serve you any WATERFOWL though!", Linux amicably slaps the dwarf on the shoulder and guffaws loudly.

Raphael's stomach growls at the thought of food
"That sounds like an excellent idea, Linux."

Raphael casts his mind back to his studies, attempting to remember if he had ever learned anything about the city he currently found himself in.

"It is excellent to see you all again, how is your aim getting these days Raphael" Eradan tilts his head to the side and has a wide grin as he pokes fun at his friend.

"A pleasure to be adventurin' with these fine companions again! And we thank you kindly for your hospitality, Lady-Captain Heidmarch."
Lucent cheerfully heads down to the cottage known as Bakrakhan House and picks a bed for himself.
"Still some time left in the day, lads. I believe I'll head to the nearest armory and get myself a few supplies. See you at dinner!"
Lucent walks around town for 1d4 ⇒ 1 hours, talking to locals and shopping at the market.

Everyone is invited to walk around town and keep an eye out for any suspicious activity. So go ahead and do any shopping, or any info gathering, hitting up the tavern, etc.

Sheila Heidmarch reminds you all to be back by the evening so you can report any findings. (Basically you'll all gather at around 8 PM at Bakrakhan House)

Lucent is done for the day. Looks like he had a spot of bad luck and only talked to the boring, non-gossiping locals.
He loads his Wand of CLW into his wrist sheath and winds up the spring with a satisfying *click*.

Matarn unloads his gear claiming a bed closest to the door before heading off to a local watering hole. Anyone up fer an ale or two? We ca' ga'her some information whi'e we drink.

Matarn heads to the local tavern for 1d4 ⇒ 4 hours talking to the bar keep and the clientele about what types of jobs previous Pathfinders have been sent on any recent troubles that have been rising up. Diplomacy: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (19) - 2 = 17 After which he will head back to the manor, as it is rude to be late for a meal.

"It's to be the spy game, is it?", Linux declares with a sinister grin. "I shall accompany you to yonder tavern and simply become as one of the locals!"

As if a lever was pushed inside his head, his eyes suddenly widen in realization. "Oh...the armor, the crest. Not quite ideal for blending in. Well then I will just beguile them!" he brightens.

Eradan and Raphael, what are your plans for the afternoon?

Lucent walks around the market, picking up supplies and speaking to locals, but doesn’t hear of anything significant.

Matarn and Linux head to the tavern and have a few drinks while they get loud and rambunctious (by the way, spelled that first try without spellcheck, er I should say, first guess). They make new friends but don’t learn of anything significant happening around town.

Raphael wanders around the market looking for items to use as spellcrafting components for 1d4 ⇒ 2 hours.

Deducing that any recent suspicious activity may have resulted in injuries that would require healing, Raphael visits the local apothecary and makes subtle inquiries as to whether the apothecary has seen much business recently, and whether anyone unusual has purchased healing supplies. The apothecary makes reference to an odd looking inquisitor who purchased a curing wand earlier in the day. Raphael presses the apothecary for more details, excited to have stumbled onto a lead, but his hopes are dashed when he realises the apothecary is describing Raphael's colleague Lucent.

Raphael continues his inquiries around town, attempting to be diplomatic.

Diplomacy: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (20) - 1 = 19

He has several interesting conversations, however at the end of it he isn't sure whether he has learnt anything relevant.

Raphael learns something!

There's talk around town of a human with fascinating beauty and equally dazzling idiocy. He travels with a dwarf that seems to have had his tongue removed, and the rumor between the midwives is that the two are entwined in a demonic ritual of homosexuality, the dwarf's tongue taken by the angel Fellatius for it was used in a way that no dwarf should be using it.

Those are the whispers you learn before making your way back to Bakrakhan House.

You all go about your business in town and return to Bakrakhan House. You all gather at the front gate near the small pond as three of them return, slightly drunk, Lucent who has been waiting around for awhile with his new wrist sheath with Raphael hanging with him from his earlier investigating.

You make your way to Bakrakhan House and step inside.

It's around 9 PM. Go ahead and do one full movement into the house from the door, and hell, go ahead and roll initiatives too. No using special abilities as you're walking in, don't metagame all because I'm making you roll initiatives that you need to start buffing. I'll do your perceptions and such and I'll let you know if something happens.

He shrugs his shoulders at the rest of the group, then turns back to Matarn and offers a broad grin and a thumbs up.

"Shall we move on then? We wouldn't want to leave our host waiting."

Linux sees his own reflection in something and stands outside, staring at himself, while the Tengu looks around for worms in the grass. Lucent and Matarn head towards the dining hall where there seems to be nothing prepared on the table. The chairs are pushed neatly in and the room seems to be taken care of frequently by servants who clean the houses while the guests are gone. Raphael opens a door and steps into a small study with a desk, a chair, and an exit.

Everyone go ahead and make a full round of actions. Move/Standard. Or Double Move if you want. The unexplored areas are: the meeting room which is the room with the many chairs, the main living room area at the bottom right, the kitchen at the top, and the stairs lead up to the bedrooms upstairs. There’s no map but it’s one large room with enough beds for everyone, as well as places to put away your gear and equipment for the night. Don't worry about initiative yet just go ahead and move.

Grand Lodge

Male Human Inquisitor

Lucent gives himself a tour of the house, in his usual long-striding manner. First he goes through the cozy room with the chairs and fireplace just north of the dining room, then walks through the hallway and pops into the kitchen. First 40' move
Still not smelling any freshly cooked food, he leaves the kitchen heading south past Matarn and inspects the living room. Second 40' move

Eradan notices the little outdoor alcove to his left and wonders if there might be some better worms in that place. Second move 30' into the outdoor alcove
