Thanks everyone so much for the game, and especially Mott for putting up with what seems to have been a campaign that was cursed by the gods.

I've very much enjoyed playing with you all but I completely understand the need to call it.

Hope to see you all around!

Quote:
You need to make five opposing skill checks against the advisers, using Bluff, Diplomacy, Intimidate, Sense Motive, and for the final round, either Knowledge (local), Perform (oratory), or Profession (soldier). Only one representative from each side can attempt each check, but you can aid your primary speaker’s checks. You also each get one reroll you can use during these checks, whether it's on a primary check or an aid.

Best:

Bluff: Vexras @ +3
Diplomacy: Vexras @ +13
Intimidate: Violet @ +3
Sense Motive: Violet @ +12

Knowledge (local): Vexras @ +4
Perform (oratory): Vexras @ +1
Profession (soldier): Arryn @ +10

If the above looks correct, those should be the leads for each roll with everyone else assisting, right?

Violet's skills:
Bluff: -1
Diplomacy: -1
Intimidate: +3
Sense Motive: +12

Knowledge (local): -
Perform (oratory): -
Profession (soldier): -

Quick note: I'm getting a tooth extracted tomorrow. I'm not sure how much I'll be posting the rest of the week.

Good luck!

I am launching a full criminal investigation into the Paizo dice roller.

Sorry everyone. I'm traveling for the next few days but I will try to post tonight or tomorrow. I think Violet is unconscious at this point anyway, though.

Violet can actually use them (she swiped one of the bows and can use it with Martial Flexibility). If we want, and if Mott allows, we could have split the arrows.

Anyways...

HOW BOUT THEM ROLLS, FOLKS?

I’m pretty sure the dragon-killing gear is 10 +1 dragon bane arrows for a longbow.

I thought Brostic took them.

Innnnteresting.

1. I am not particularly experienced with P2e, but I'm currently playing in two other 2e PbPs (one @L1, one @L5), so I'm learning.

2. My name is also Rob.

3. My current characters are a Ranger and a Cleric, so I'd probably avoid those classes. If we were to have a 5-player party I think I'd like to try the Investigator, who would likely be a precocious teen detective. I'm also interested in trying a spontaneous caster and I'm always happy to play a martial when one is needed.

Watch this be the first and only fog dragon in Golarion.

Got my second shot on Monday, too! So far, so good.

Regarding trip: My L17 PFS bard used a whip with greater trip to great effect. She couldn't do any damage herself, but would rearrange the battlefield with Dim Door and Bard's Escape and draw AoOs from the beatsticks. Was much fun.

Violet will probably use Greater Trip situationally with Vexras when we're not in rooms filled with fog.

Sorry, singular head. Plural was a typo.

Well it still sounds bad.

Does everyone know that this has started back up? Or do we need to notify people?

Sorry folks, I'm afraid I'm going to have to withdraw from this. Life just got too busy.

Ka'atib drops some verses and some glitterdust. WILL SAVE PLEASE.

Botting for Ulysses S Bird:

bite: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (4) + 22 = 26
bite damage: 2d8 + 7 ⇒ (8, 5) + 7 = 20
talon: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (13) + 22 = 35
talon damage: 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (1, 5) + 7 = 13
talon: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (4) + 22 = 26
talon damage: 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (2, 1) + 7 = 10

+3/+3 for bard song

Ka'atib heals Lazlo for 28 damage via CSW.

"Courage, my little friend. Let me sing you a tale of Crustaceous III, who, burned and beaten, overcame insurmountable odds to defeat the horned dragon of Clamato..."

"I wet my little pants. I'm Lazlo."

Zanny Koolnutz pushes off the ground and charges straight through the air at the remaining Baykok, Peter Pan-style.

ZAN'KUUUUUUUUUUULLLLLLL: 1d20 + 13 + 3 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 13 + 3 + 1 + 2 = 29

Damage: 1d8 + 14 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 14 + 3 = 18

With clear eyes and a full heart, Zan'Kul sees three flying enemies. Accordingly, he draws and drinks a tasty potion of fly. It is grape-flavored.

Zan'Kul will save: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28

Now twice invisible, Ka'atib sings a very fast song about being very fast. Haste.

Appraise for the gems: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19

Sense Meowtive: 1d20 ⇒ 13

Assist on Diplomeowcy or Intimeowdate: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (9) - 2 = 7

Eager to see how they handle Crane Wing here.

Thanks for running! We did it! We found the stars!

Thanks very much! Nym is a bad wizard and he should feel bad.

Thanks everyone, and especially Dungeon Master S for running!

Sorry for all the drama-squelching crits. That usually does not happen.

Also need a PC # for Amenhotep so I can report this. (I'll cut him some slack as he's literally on the other side of the world from me right now, LOL)

For the rest of you:
Caduceus
Jaysin
Jhalan
Kirana
Markolf

...no, but seriously: Markolf

...

I'll be reporting this to my local VL.

;)

Boon?: 1d20 ⇒ 11

Thanks for running this, and thanks everyone for tolerating my antics!

Markolf shouts at Jhalen, "This is a pyrohydrahydra, a variant hydra that can breath fire and is likewise immune to fire. Hydras, including pyrohydras, have the pounce monster ability. It has fast healing and can only be killed by severing all its heads or slaying its body. Any attack that is not an attempt to sever a head affects the body, including area attacks or attacks that cause piercing or bludgeoning damage. To sever a head, an opponent must make a sunder attempt with a slashing weapon targeting a head. A head is considered a separate weapon. To sever a head, an opponent must inflict enough damage to reduce the head's hit points to 0 or less. When a pyrohydra's head is destroyed, two heads regrow in 1d4 rounds. To prevent new heads from growing, at least 5 points of acid or cold damage must be dealt to the stump (a touch attack to hit) before they appear. Acid or cold damage from area attacks can affect stumps and the body simultaneously. A pyrohydra doesn't die from losing its heads until all are cut off and the stumps seared by acid or cold."

"You're doing great! Keep up the good work!"

Markolf draws a wand of Magic Missile and bravely defends Jhalen from the Pyrohydra.
Magic Missile!: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

I regret nothing.

Amenhotep of Wati wrote:
I wouldn't say no to the Dexterity enhancement :-)

Current plan is to apply +6 Dex to Amenhotep and Jaysin and +6 Str to Jhalen once we hit the ruins and have a better idea of how long we'll be there. Markolf only has 3 Arcane Reservoir points left to supercharge spells unless he consumes some magic items.

Of course that may all change depending on how this not-an-encounter goes.

Jhalan wrote:

Jhalan will gladly accept the +6 to STR. Thanks!

Jhalan feels his muscle grow, and leads the way up the hill, keeping his eyes peeled for any traps.
[dice=Perception]1d20+10

Mis-typed, it should be a +4 size bonus, but it should have the same cumulative effect.

Range of Longstrider is Personal unless you have some special juju.

Markolf is visibly disappointed over the lack of charau-ka.

All right. Well can you tell us anything about what she thought was over there. Any notes of hers we can look at?

And since you're packing up, maybe we can lighten your load and take any supplies you don't need.

Markolf pauses ever so briefly, attempting a solemn and respectful tone.

About those 'unfortunates', do you happen to know if any of them were organ donors? Or at least never explicitly mentioned wanting their remains left alone? Either way can you tell me where they're buried?

Does Jhalen enjoy being enlarged?

As a Brown-fur transmuter, Markolf can give party members a +6 enhancement bonus to ability scores. Does anyone have specific requests for him to prepare?

Markolf would like to scribe Investigative Mind into his spellbook on the way. He will then cast it and Heightened Awareness and concentrate.

After hurriedly scribing a scroll into his book, Markolf makes a series of wild incantatons and gestures.

Azlant Ridge? Hmmm.....

Kn (His): 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (1) + 13 = 14

Kn (His): 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (6) + 13 = 19

Edit: He'll take the 19

We are going to be traveling for days, right (asking whether it is prudent to burn spells on knowledge checks)?

I like my LV 4 Bloodrager very good build.

What don't you like about your warpriest? I only ask because I lurve mine. My only real complaint about the class is skill points.

Planning to try out a werebat Blood Kineticist tonight.

Here's hoping to a long and healthy career drowning her enemies in blood in the name of the Sovereign Court.

Oh, and the Spell Warrior Skald I'm playing in RoW is surprising everyone with how useful he is. I totally underestimated that class.

Is it due to the weapon enchantment or the counterspelling abilities? I keep looking at it and wondering how it would work as it doesn't look like it stacks as the Paladin ability does. The counterspelling looks great in early levels, but seems like it'll slowly get outpaced as you climb in levels.

I'd really like to hear how you've been finding it effective!

The weapon enchantment, specifically, although it looks like I've been having the enhancement stack when it shouldn't have. Either that changed or I misinterpreted "overlap" when I was making the character.

Even so, I frequently use it for Flaming, Ghost Touch and Keen. It may be specific to RoW, but the utility of granting those to an entire party has been quite welcome.

Additionally, the Skald is a pretty decent front-liner with its armor and weapon proficiencies.

For spellcasting I look almost exclusively for buffs, condition removal and immediate action spells. Gallant Inspiration has done us a lot of good.

My Empiricist Investigator is to skills what archers are to combat. I'm actually starting to feel that she's infringing on the fun of others at the table with her utter domination over nearly any check. And while she's not overpowering in combat, she holds her own. And she's a nosy teen detective!

My Roc-riding Hunter is mostly GM and AP credit, but the few times I've played him have been a lot of fun. The Hunter may be one of my favorite classes.

My slinging Warpriest does very well in combat and contributes decently in social situations and with condition removal. I like the character, but I do find the lack of skill points a bit of turn-off.

My Brown-fur Transmuter Arcanist has been generally well-received for the massive buffs he provides, and he has the flexibility to take on other roles once everyone's buffed. Like most of the ACG classes, the Arcanist's greatest strength is its versatility.

I haven't played my Spiritualist since Occult Adventures was released. Looking forward to doing so soon. I don't think he'll be stealing any spotlights, which is fine. I'm just hoping I can find a niche for him to contribute effectively. To borrow some baseball nerdery, the class doesn't seem to have a high ceiling in WAR (Wins Above Replacement).
