I have it here.

I backup (almost) all of them daily. Let me know of any others are missing.

Bonus points to actually have something brush against their legs while giving the description. How loud is that remote control Roomba?

Quickened Ill Omen + Persistent Blindness/Deafness? Hope you can make 4 consecutive saves, buddy.

Even if the opponent CAN negate it on their turn, Quicken Spell alone makes it worthwhile.

That's my plan for my next feat as my Dual Cursed Oracle. Quicken Ill-Omen followed by one of Waves of Ecstasy, Chains of Light (favorite as they can't take actions until they beat the save), Greater Forbid Action, Serenity, Debilitating Portent, Charitable Impulse, or Reach Bestow Curse.

It occurs to me that I need some non-will save attack spells.

How terrible an idea is this? I don't want AP spoilers, but I want to know if "I'm going to build for tripping" is a terrible idea here.

whats the rest of the party composistion? if there are 2 or more ranged characters or one or more dedicated ranged character tripping would srew them over royaly if the party is entirely melee or has a single none dedicated ranged character go ham with the tripping

A Guide for Trip Builds in Pathfinder

Unless you are fighting humanoids alot, your CMB will fall behind without help. Dirty Fighting will help, as will Fury's Fall. A Dueling (PSFG) Leveraging Whip with the best enhancement bonus you can get will help a great deal. Also look at a Dusty Rose (normal or cracked) Ioun Stone in a wayfinder. You may also want Combat Stamina and Agile Maneuvers so you can trip larger things sometimes.

I have a Fighter 18 /Maneuver Master Monk 2 that will hit CMB 72 on trips before flanking and buffs, and trip any size opponent. An Avenger Vigilante 20 should be able to get close to that, say, 67. Of course, that is going to eat many if your feats (9-ish). You can get 4 of those as vigilante talents.

Given this is a "We hate maneuvers" thread, if you want to know more, make a new thread, and I'll post the builds.

Aiming for level 13 with continued progression to 18.

Traits: Irrepressible, Varisian Tattoo
Feats: Extra Revelation (Lore (Lorekeeper)), Noble Scion (War), weapon focus (starknife), Divine Fighting Technique (Desna), Quickdraw, Point Blank, Precise Shot, Rapid Shot, Startoss Style, Startoss Comet, Startoss Shower, Deadly Aim, Far Shot
Lore Oracle 1 w/ Sidestep Secret

I don't know after that. I would like Bard or Bard VMC for Versatile Performance (Dance) and Bardic Knowledge.

That would give me Cha to hit, damage, all reflex, important will, knowledge checks (with bardic knowledge), and Acrobatics/Fly.

12+ feats and VMC means Fighter or Warpriest. I'll favor Warpriest as i am replacing a life oracle. Also, Antihero.

Attack should be 9 bab + 9 cha + 4 weapon training + 5 weapon + 2 bardsong + 1 point blank - 3 deadly aim + 1 weapon focus for 26/26/21 attack.

Damage should be 1d6 + 5 weapon + 9 cha + 4 weapon training + 2 bardsong + 1 point blank + 6 deadly aim + 6 startoss style for + 3 for divine power = 1d6 + 33

Blinkback Belt, Cha Headband, and Dueling Gloves Assumed.

Thoughts on how I can do it better?

The problem I have with it is not the errata itself, but the source.

This is an excellent candidate for an FAQ or APG errata. Putting it in OA is a horrible place. If I want to PFS, and I have the CRB, APG, and FAQ, I don't have all the rules that interact with my character.

I'm told it's a PFS legal character.

I have almost that exact character. The only difference is I shoehorned in the Improvisation feats, totaling up to +10 in every skill I have no ranks in, and I can use them all untrained. It's 3 feats and half-elf, but it works nicely.

How does this qualify for Draconic Defender with a CON of 9 when you need 17?

Draconic Defender wrote:

You have a knack for placing yourself between your enemies and those they wish to harm.

Prerequisite: Con 17, Toughness

Benefit: During your action, designate an ally within your reach. When you fight defensively or use Combat Expertise, your ally gains a natural armor bonus to AC equal to the dodge bonus you gain from fighting defensively or Combat Expertise. You can select a new ally on any action. Allies who move out of your reach lose this natural armor bonus.

You get multiple uses per day, yes, however it specifically states that you can change form as a standard action at any time during that duration. So by level 6 or so you have 3 uses of 6h which equates to a full day almost of being whatever you want, whenever you want.

I don't see how that works under the first paragraph of Shapeshanger. It looks like it is simply explaining that using the ability is a standard action.

There are some 40 base classes in Paizo's published material, plus I don't know how many Prestige Classes. Just looking at the former, if each has say half a dozen archetypes (there may be more, I don't know) that's well over 200 possible character concepts in the game, even before you add in third party options. It's hard enough to choose amongst all those possible concepts, and now you want players to do extensive math to see if their character is "viable"? Whatever happened to just playing the game?

I don't think the purpose if this article is to go over every possible build. It's more about seeing if the build you want to play can do it's job.

I can try and role play a great and powerful warrior, but if I can't hit the broadside of a flatfooted barn, I'm going to quickly get frustrated.

So lets say I want to be a marathon runner. What number am I looking for? A quick googling puts blue at somewhere around 2.5 hours. Green is about 3, 5 hours would be Orange, and 8 hours would be red.

If I'm going to make it my thing, I need to be at least Orange, and professionally, at least Green. At the Olympic level, I should go home if I can't do blue. If I'm doing it just to do it, red is just fine, though I shouldn't expect awards.

Training (kinda like the running and endurance feats feats) and gear (proper diet, energy gels, lightweight running shoes, moisture wicking clothing, and bandaids for sensitive areas) can help up my time.

All of that said, play a character you enjoy. Some people like to play the numbers game. Some don't. Let people play the way they want to.

I'll stick that in there if you like.

If you have a link with average cmb/cmd per CR I'll do that, but this values are not in the link in the original document

EDIT :

I've found This Document with CMD and CMB and I added it, using the same rules as AC/attack for the color.

It's from Weapon Master Handbook. Didn't that just come out?

Tacticslion wrote:

I am unable to tell what you are suggesting. Are you suggesting it's good? Bad? A weird mix?

I mean, Free-style looks like it's giving up a lot compared to the Martial Master archetype (and it is), but unlike the Martial it comes online immediately, and pretty much as a solid advantage until level five - while the MM has one more "constant" feat, the Free-style can have any feat needed, when needed.

The other benefit that Martial lacks is the Style mastery ability. While the Martial can "fake it" with a Weapon Focus ability, the Free-style can have multiple styles active at the same time, while the Martial still has to focus on a single weapon.

I'm saying it's awful. You have to give up SO much to do be a Free-Style Fighter. Just play Master of Many Styles 1/Brawler X or and you come out ahead.

Maybe I should ask how it compares to other things. I don't see how it could be good, or even fair, compared so similar things that already exist.
