The density argument gets stronger and stronger.

I knew I should have majored in Physics!

Looks like an 8th or 9th level sorcerer/wizard could pull this off with ease.

Pathfinder Adventure Path Subscriber

Nice argument FB!

Guess I hadn't taken into account all of the empty space in an ogre (around the arms & legs, inside the skull, etc.)

Pathfinder Adventure Path Subscriber

Thanks G; I knew that Honours Degree in Mathematics would come in handy eventually.

The spell description for shrink item says :

Target one touched object of up to 2 cu. ft./level

Since (from the bestiary):

"A typical adult ogre stands 10 feet tall"

I estimate a volume of about 80 cu. ft. for an ogre so yes, a 40th level sorcerer/wizard could shrink an ogre corpse; do you have a 40th level sorcerer/wizard handy ;) ?

Page 86 of the Pathfinder Core Rulebook states...

Since taking 20 assumes that your character will fail many times before succeeding, your character would automatically incur any penalties for failure before he or she could complete the task (hence why it is generally not allowed with skills that carry such penalties). Common “take 20” skills include Disable Device (when used to open locks), Escape Artist, and Perception (when attempting to find traps).

Emphasis mine.

's gone now, replaced by some geezer called Gustav Mahler; great music, not so great AD&D modules ;)

I wonder who's in charge of selecting "Today's featured article"? Must be random.

Pathfinder Adventure Path Subscriber

Don't know if anyone else noticed this yet but Mr Gygax's classic AD&D adventure published in 1980 is today's "Featured Article" on Wikipedia!

Must be some kind of 30th aniversary celebration or something.

Who'd have thought it?

Hi Rogue Eidolon,

I've just started using a great online file system / repository called Dropbox. If you fancy giving it a go follow this link (https://www.dropbox.com/referrals/NTc3MzA0NTY5), install Dropbox, create a folder for your guides and share it as a public folder. You can then share it with the community.

See what you think,

I just wrote a guide for Rogues yesterday, which is here: Rogue Eidolon's Guide to Rogues (Optimisation). Treantmonk has given us Bard, Druid, Monk, Ranger, and Wizard. What guides are we missing that people need?

Cleric seems a strong contender. I'm in a good position to write about the playtest Summoner and Alchemist as well, but I want to wait for the final version before I do anything with that. There are also plenty of Eldritch Knight threads, so that might be good to have a guide.

What are you looking for?

That guide is currently hard to read through. When you are reading while others view it, it bounces all over the place.
Really? Is there a solution for that? People suggested that I put it up on Googledocs, and I think they said you can download it from there as well. I can also try hosting it elsewhere...hmm.

Thanks Sara Marie,

I do hope that this won't add to the shipping cost of issue #29 as the postage is the lion's share of the cost of all of my trans-pond orders and I already paid the postage for #21 in my mega-bundle.

Kind Regards,

Hi Cosmo,

Just received my bumper package of Pathfider APs to get me caught up since my FLGS closed last year but I'm afraid there was one item missing from my order i.e.

Pathfinder Adventure Path #21: "The Jackal's Price" (Legacy of Fire 3 of 6) (OGL) Print Edition Shipped Jan 4, 2010

Could you please look into this and see what can be done.

Many Thanks,

Andrew

Cheers Cosmo,

I assume my PDF downloads will appear when the products ship.

Stellar customer service as per usual.

Me Again :D

I've just been delving around in my account details and noticed that there was no telephone number associated with my delivery address and some BIG RED WRITING saying that one must be supplied. Could this be the reason for the missing orders? I've now added a telephone number.

Cheers,

Hi Cosmo,

I think I might be missing a couple of volumes from my Adventure Path subscription. I received #26: The Sixfold Trial fine as part of order #1227868 (many thanks) but my next volume is showing up as #29: Mother of Flies scheduled to ship January 2010 with no mention of #27 & #28.

These missing volumes don't appear in my downloads either and my pre-Christmas excitement is getting the better of me.

Could you please take a look into this and see what might be occurring.

Many thanks,

Andrew (Miph-not-Melf) Smith

I'm gusessing that "or have a slot of the appropriate level available" is only relevant to spontanious spellcasters like sorcerers etc.

Kracky was a pre-gen cleric included in B1:In search of the unknown. I resurrected him and updated him to a 3.5 Druid a few years ago for my 25th anniversary game with my brothers (including Rambling Scribe). The Druid was in charge of looking after the mule, and got tagged as Kracky, the Ass-Whisperer.

Oh heck, the WORST names ever were the pregens in the original release of S4: Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth...

I only remember one offhand (Cathartic the Cleric) but three of them were just plain AWFUL...

Thanks All,

Much praise should go to Robert Lazzaretti for the original maps, they do line up beautifully. It just took a bit of re-scaling from the originals and after extending the underground stream & sewers to the west everything just came together.

I am a little concerned though that the original Lazzaretti maps indicate that the sewers empty in to the "Stream." In The City of Greyhawk this can only be "The Millstream" which runs North to South right through the middle of the city. Canon indicates that The Millstream is only "about 1-2 feet deep at most." The sewers and stream on the Arena Caverns map are said to be 30 feet under the Service Level which is in turn over 10 feet below the ground level of the Arena. This would place the bed of The Millstream about 40 feet lower than the Arena floor, thats quite a drop in elevation for the short distance (50 or so feet) it is from the Arena.

Canon also states that "Citizens sometimes drink the water in New City, and almost everyone in Slum Quarter has drunk from it." This doesn't sound much like a stream into which sewers empty.

Denis Tetreault's Map of The Undercity of Greyhawk shows the sewers continuing on under The Millstream to a large sump under the Hall of the Dean of Grey College (Area C1a.)

Also, the manhole at street level, to the north of the Arena Caverns, appears to lead to a location in the Garden Quarter of the city on the other side of the The Nobles' Wall. The Nobles' Wall is not shown on the original Lazzaretti map so I've taken the liberty of uploading a new map with the Nobles' Wall added (along with a few labels for surface structures.)

Just thought I'd add a key to the map...

Level 1 - Red : Service Level
Level 2 - Yellow : Shrine of Kyuss
Level 3 - Blue : Arena Caverns

The larger circular coridor has gone a muddy purple because it conicides on both the Service Level & Arena Caverns. The spiral staircases are even worse because they appear on all three levels.

Hi All,

Last week I finally got around to running The Champion's Belt and was having trouble visualising the various subterranian layers beneath the arena, so...

I created a multi-layered map showing how each of the layers relate to one another. Hope it's of as much help to others here on the boards as it is to me.

It's a lot bigger than the average browser window can show so just zoom in for more detaily goodness.

Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year to all on the boards from deepest darkest Derbyshire,
