Join me in saying a big congratulations to Indiana's newest 5 star GM, Greg Hurst! Greg GMed his 150th table this past Sunday at Comic Carnival. He is a former VL, and he has dedicated 100s of hours to PFS in Indiana (and sometimes Ohio, too :) ). See here for a pic of Greg and VC Chris Bonnet on Sunday!

Silver Crusade

I recently started running RotRL, and I have one person in the campaign who came to the table with a cleric of Lamashtu. When I read her backstory, I thought it was an interesting choice given the events of the first book and thought maybe she knew something about it. It turned out that she knew nothing about Lamashtu's ties to the book and her reasoning for worshipping Lamashtu was really simple (I think it had to do with the favored weapon or something). So, I thought it would be fun to play it out and see how it went.

She's been very secretive with the rest of the group about her deity. She doesn't openly display a holy symbol (only tattoos). I've given her bonuses to recognize things related to Lamashtu, and she's used her information to help the party (don't drink the water!)

We finished up Thistletop last night, and when we got to Nualia, I told her that she should be feeling very conflicted because Nualia is clearly a faithful worshipper of Lamashtu. She stayed out of the room until the final round of the battle (because she knew Nualia would be gunning for her is she saw her), and only healed her allies. She never did an offensive action against Nualia. But I told her when it was over that Lamashtu saw it all.

What are some good things I can do in the next chapter to have Lamashtu punish her? I know I can have her powers go away. I'm looking for some more fun or creative things that can happen. Thoughts?

Hi everyone,

Today is my last day as Venture Captain for Pathfinder Society of Indiana. This decision was very hard to make, but I think it's time for someone with more time and energy and fresh ideas to take over. I love PFS, and I've had a wonderful year and a half as VC. I plan to stick around, GM, and play some. Hopefully I'll see you at the table sometime in the near future!

My replacement has not been announced, yet.

Thanks again! I really have loved meeting and gaming with everyone. I've made some wonderful friends through PFS. I hope to continue to do so.

Congratulations to Indiana VL Greg Hurst on his 4th Star!! Greg GMed his 100th table last night. He definitely celebrated with a near TPK that I'm sad I missed.

I hope you'll join me in congratulating him!

Hi everyone. I am so very excited to congratulate Chris Bonnet on earning his 5th star. Chris was actually one of my first GMs some 2 years ago when I started playing PFS. Chris brings a lot of passion and dedication to GMing, and he's always been great about mentoring new GMs. For our most recent local cons, Chris has been putting together bags for new GMs of minis, notebooks, and a special race boon as reward and encouragement to keep GMing. I had the pleasure to observe Chris' 150th table, a session of Thornkeep. It was a great time.

I hope that you all will join me in congratulating him!

Hi everyone!

I’m going to start working on my WYC schedule for next year. Who’s Yer Con will be March 15-17, 2013 at the Clarion Hotel and Conference Center (same place as last year)in Indianapolis, IN. This is a free convention. We had a huge presence last year and plan to keep a similar schedule this coming year. I must also mention that Barfleet takes place on Saturday night, which is always a fun event after the special :)

I am looking for GMs who would like to volunteer to run. GM rewards will be based on how many slots you run. One stipulation will be that if you fail to show up for a slot and/or show up unprepared and do not run a slot you are scheduled for, then you will not be eligible for some GM rewards.

Slots are as follows:

March 15
12pm-5pm
6pm-11pm

March 16
8am-12pm
1pm-6pm
7pm-midnight (this will be the slot when we run Race for the Runecarved key…make sure that you feel comfortable running the special if you volunteer for this slot).

March 17
9am-2pm

Please let me know if you are interested in helping out! When you respond, be sure to mention what slots you are interested in running. You can reply to me at TracyPFSIndy at a gmail dot com email address.

Join me in welcoming three new Indiana Venture Lieutenants! Michael Bramnik will be managing the Pathfinder explosion in Bloomington, IN. He has been working on mentoring GMs at Common Room Games and setting up game days there since he moved to Bloomington earlier this year. Michael Cleland of Westfield, IN will be working to expand to new stores North of Indianapolis in areas like Anderson and Marion. Although he is from Westfield, Mike C. travels all over Central Indiana to help out and GM (including Lafayette, Bloomington and all our Indianapolis stores). Greg Hurst has been doing the work of a VL since I became VC a year ago. He designed our website, helped organize GM 101, the Beginner Box Bash and other events. He GMed almost every slot at Who's Yer Con last year and was our Overseer GM for the special. He routinely travels to cons and new stores to help GM. He will be working with Chris and me in Indianapolis, IN.

Welcome aboard!

Hooray for Brian Mooney! I first met Brian at GenCon 2011 when I GMed for him and his wife. Shortly thereafter, he reached out to me to offer his help to GM and organize ArctiCon 2012 in Valparaiso, IN. He brought on another GM to help us, and they both GMed for me the whole day of the convention. Since then (and prior to that), Brian has been organizing games at Lightspeed Hobbies in Portage, IN. Brian will cover Northwest Indiana, including (but not limited to): Portage, Valparaiso, South Bend and Elkhart.

Please join me in welcoming him aboard!

Congratulations to Indiana Venture-Lieutenant, Chris Bonnet, on his fourth star! Chris has gone from 1 star to 4 stars in the last year. He GMs multiple games a week, and he's kept me mostly sane over the last year.

Congrats Chris!

Just wanted to congratulate Lafayette Venture-Lieutenant Michael Costello on earning his fourth star! Wahoo.

And thanks to Indianapolis Venture-Lieutenant Chris Bonnet for reminding me :)

What's better than a free con? Who's Yer Con will be March 2-4, 2012 at the Clarion Waterfront Hotel in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Who's Yer Con is run by Who's Yer Gamers, a group of people dedicated to educating the general public on the variety, availability, and benefits of hobby gaming. They strive to achieve this goal by providing free and reduced cost opportunities to participate in publicly open events and to foster a positive relationship between the hobby gaming community and the public through charitable service.

PFS Indiana had over 50 tables of Pathfinder Society games at Who's Yer Con 2011, and we hope to have even more this year! I am currently looking for GMs. Please contact me at TracyPFSIndy at a gmail dot com address if you are interested in GMing at this event!

If you want to attend, register here: http://www.whosyergamers.org/wygms/modules/conpro/

To make hotel reservations, you need to CALL the hotel, 317-299-8400 and let them know you are with the Who's Yer Gamers/Who's Yer Con block. Do not reserve online, or you will not get the reduced rates, and WYC will not get credit for your room.
