Keen to avoid collateral damage by attacking Urgog when his friends are so close, Vondal focuses his wrath on the giant spider instead.

I get to slide them a square if I want, but honestly can't think of anywhere useful to send them, so I won't.

OK, time for the Force Orb. Fired at Urgog: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14 v Reflex, 2d8 + 4 ⇒ (7, 2) + 4 = 13 force damage on a hit. It then affects a Burst 1, not including Urgog, which in this instance is C1: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18 v Reflex, 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8 force damage on a hit.

Vondal hurls an orb of magical force at the goblin chief, which then shatters into deadly flying flinders.

OK, they're all nicely spread out so I can't get them with my AOE spells. People, a bit of coordination if you don't mind! Use your slidey stuff to bunch them up, if you don't mind.

Move to K2, fire a Colour Orb at the big S. 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23 v Will, 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12 damage and the target is dazed until the end of my next turn.

Vondal nudges forward and fires his spell at the giant spider.

OK, everything is annoyingly spread out so getting my area effect spells to work is tricky. So I'll try this:

Move to O8, then fire off a Thunderwave affecting L-N/9-11 and catching V1. On a hit, it will push the vine to J12 (assuming I can push a vine - I guess I can uproot it or something).

Vondal tries to rip up the vine attacking Sigvard, but doesn't muster enough puff.

Vondal moves up and fires a sphere of multicoloured light at the formidable-looking spider.

From where he sits next to Luce, Vondal notes with vague interest the human bard, noting with approval how he avoids the vulgar youth of the village. But he blinks with surprise as he sees a familar figure accosting one of the locals - one of his father's housecarls, the doughty warrior Kendall Steelshod. Vondal sinks into his seat with a degree of chagrin. Checking up on me...

"Yes, most stimulating. Indeed, to visit the travelling court of a powerful fey would be a most exciting, if potentially perilous, expedition. But their knowledge of arcane lore is doubtless deep.
