Force feeding someone a potion is a full-round action.

With Ketill mere seconds away from death's door, Ilya opens the potion and pours it down her dying comrade's throat.

CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Ketill doesn't wake, but at least he stabilizes and lives. Ilya clsoes her eyes for a second and whispers. "Thank you, Irori. I made it in time."

Ilya desperately tries to force-feed the magical draught of healing to Ketill, whose infernal complexion gets paler and paler by the second. The first drops meet a resistance of gurgling, and Ilya feels the life draining from the tiefling. Before the last drop has left the tiny bottle, the last grain of sand has fallen from the hourglass.

Some crunch specific to PbP:

Ketill's actions for the previous and the current round are (respectively),
- fail to stabilise, bleed to -11
- fail to stabilise, bleed to -12, die

bleeding happens at start of round. The only thing that is bothering me is the 'group initiative' that I'm using, as it would (effectively) allow you to switch around order in a turn if a person posted first.

In the critical last round, Ilya can move before Ketill, or after. According to initiative count, she'd move after, but most of the other rounds she's moved before Ketill.

So let me be lenient and take the most favourable configuration (as if Ketill had delayed until after Ilya at some point). In that case, Ilya would have
- retrieved her potion and move to Ketill
- administered the potion to Ketill

since administering a potion is indeed a full-round action, the effect would only take hold until after Ketill's turn. In other words - not at all, as Ketill would be dead by then.

Zen'yrs proposed action consists of a double move and a standard action, so it would take two rounds.

Kellan slashes wildly at the creature holding her, and opens cuts and gashes, which seem to close almost instantly, while Vayu takes a blast at the creature. A bludgeoning pebble, moved by Redke's mind, slams into the creature, and bruising it seems to be more effective than slashing it.

Technically this is not bleeding: the drop to -12 happens as soon as I fail my stabilize roll, not at the beginning of my round. Does not change the result.

I find it funny. I would wholly expect him to rather die at the hands of a Chelish rather than a blob of goo in a room. We will see what we can do about getting you back up and going. This is presuming we get through this gibberish

I forgot to roll damage for Kellan

Redke misses the mouther with his pebble, after which Vayu levels his pistol, and with a blast engulfs the creature in fire. When the smoke clear, the incessant gibbering stops, and the mouther no longer moves.

Vayu rushes forward and with the others helps Kellan get out ... "Hold on! We've got you!"

With Kellan freed Vayu takes in the scene. After a moment he realizes that Ketill is dead. "No ... no no no ... how'd that happen?! Ilya, I thought you had him ... I could have channeled, by Abadar ... I could have channeled ... this is all my fault ...", he falls to his knees defeated.

Zen'yr is silent, stunned at what has transpired in the last little bit. He was being a snarky ass one minute, then...she couldn't bring herself to say it, DEAD.

I am beginning to hate this place more and more. We aren't getting paid enough for this crap!

She looks at the others, what do we do now? anyone know how to bring someone back from..., again she refuses to say the word dead.

so, how does this work? can we all sacrifice some PP to get a rez or do we have to have one person have the 166 pp? DO we start selling gear?

"REDKE! I saw what you did! You might say that creature caused you to do it, but I KNOW YOU KILLED KETILL ON PURPOSE!" She sways toward him, and collapses into Redke's arms (if he'll catch her), needing to lie down and be healed. She's at 1 HP! LOL, that was super close!

Redke, still on his knees starts openly weeping, "I ... I ... I ... Swear I Didn't Do It On Purpose. I ... I ... I ... couldn't control myself." Too stunned by Kellan's accusal he misses her falling and sees his failure start again.

"VAYU! VAYU! GET OVER HERE, KELLAN'S DYING!." Redke yells through his tears.

Well, we can pack up his remains, finish the mission and then sell stuff, or if we do have enough gold lying around with selling stuff. If we do sell stuff, we'd have to babysit Ketill (he'd be at 2 negative levels, leaving him only 1hd) until he got 2 Restoration spells cast on him. We can't share PP to get him raised.

Note: Total Gold cost for Raise Dead 5450, and each Restoration is 1280. With selling stuff, Redke would have 1808 gp available.

I have 2450 in cash available. I prefer to be raised asap, but only if we can pay for 1 restoration (can't have more than 1 restoration per chronicle anyway). So we would need 6730. Selling stuff for a raise should not be needed, that is a double hit on WBL. If we don't have the cash we need to wait for the chronicle. Looking at the profiles we have: Redke: 900, Kellan ?, Zenyr: 1600, Vayu: 225, Ilya: 1400, Ketill: 2450, Total: 6575 excluding Kellan's cash. I can sell some stuff to make up the difference if needed. We can divide the amount needed exactly when we get chronicles if the GM is ok with us loaning each other money during the scenario.

Problem with waiting is that I will likely miss out on most of the PP / XP / Gold rewards on the chronicle since I died rather soon in the scenario. Luckily there are some slow track scenarios ahead, so also not a big deal. As long as I get raised at the end of this scenario or sooner I can live with anything you decide

Thank you all guys! Splitting evenly that means everyone gets set back 1120 (and Ketill takes the remaining 5gp). I suggest that GM Kludde marks it on the chronicles. I assume the GM is ok with you bringing Ketill back to the local temple.

After the priest has cast the required spell Ketill's complexion changes from a shady red to the vibrant color you where used to seeing. He coughs twice and twists slightly, but otherwise stays still. Then he suddenly sits up straight. His eyes flash open.

Pharasma! Don't judge me yet! I am not ready!"

On another note: a gibbering mouther caused my first player death as a GM in Pathfinder, so it is only fitting that it now causes my first PC death as a player as well

"And you should probably keep it with you for now, Vayu. At least for as long as my wand's the only healing wand we have with us."

While we're outside the dungeon Ilya will buy a new potion of CLW. She'll also buy a potion of mage armor, just in case her wand fails her some day. (We don't have anyone who can naturally use the mage armor wand on Ilya, do we?)

I have a +6 on UMD, so I have a reasonable shot at making a DC 20 lol

Zen'yr will shed a tear, and return to her jovial, even if abrupt self.

While in town, she will grab a few supplies as well, should the need arise.

"marking" off 1120gp from sheet, just so I know the accurate total. Buying vial of antitoxin for 50gp, and drinking it before heading back down in hopes to counteract the mist. Hopefully everyone else can do the same.

With Ketill resurrected, and supplies bought, the worst effects of the synesthesia poison have also worn off.

The Hellknights take on the captured bandits, and since the net profits of the party's endeavours - taking the cost of resurrection into account - have been negative, do not request a share of it.

When back at the dungeon, Ilya again uses her wand of mage armor on herself.

Ilya puts the wand away when she's done with it. "I think we didn't do a proper search of the room where the blabbering thing was after we defeated it. I want to go back there before we proceed."

She walks back to the room where the party encountered the weird creature, and takes a look around.

The party descends past the glowing green pillar once more, to end up at the stairs that lead to the Splinterden. The doors is still smashed to pieces, though a makeshift barrier has been put up.

Redke remembers that the room with the robes and masks had a second exit, which must have been a secret door that could bypass the barricade.

Redke fiddles with the wall a little bit before it pops open right and leads into room where the masks were hiding.

If the masks are still there, Redke will don one.

Quietly, Redke says, "This should be a little easier to go through" with a smile.

Kellan looks disdainfully at Redke when he suggests that the group go back to the spire. "What, so you can kill ME this time? Watch your back, Ketill. That one has proven his untrustworthiness. If he wasn't a fellow Pathfinder he'd have Talon here run through him in his sleep..."

Once back in the tower, Kellan will follow the group, warily watching Redke at all times.

Zen'yr is aimlessly looking around the disgusting jail cell. The putrid smell is overwhelming, but her feline ears suddenly perk. She turns her head around just in time to see a trio of people come in.

She stares at the woman, sending "daggers" into her mind as she does so. She then casts a spell, sending hatred through her veins toward her splinter bandit lackeys.

I moved myslef, as I would have been away from the door prior to the battle starting. I am a squishy, so being near combat is not a preference :)
